    Chick'n Nuggets
    Parita A.

We stopped in to Veggie Grill and ordered the buffalo wrap, chik'n nuggets with BBQ sauce, and carrot cake. Ordering itself was fine, but the line moved really slowly since only one person was ringing orders, and for some reason the self-ordering screen wasn't in use. It's a busy spot, you order first, then find a seat, and they bring your food out. Which is a process I actually enjoy. The buffalo wrap was pretty good. Definitely had that buffalo kick, but the halves weren't consistent. One side had plenty of sauce, the other was much lighter, which was a little disappointing since we were splitting it. The chik'n nuggets were solid, standard vegan nuggets, but I appreciated that they weren't overly greasy like I've seen at other places. The BBQ sauce was on the sweeter side than I expected, but still fine. They did forget our carrot cake at first, but once we asked, they brought it right out. The cake itself was just okay, you could tell it might have been sitting a day, but the portion was generous. Overall, it wasn't a bad meal at all, but I'm not sure I'd rush back either.

The more I adopt eating vegan in the interim, the more my expectations rise. For the amount being shelled out, I'm looking at portions, taste, presentation, you know all the usual things I mention in my reviews. I've been let down no lie, and the latest place to do so was Veggie Grill. I got the Ranchero Bean Fiesta - "House-made ranchero beans, Tex-Mex beefy crumbles, steamed organic rice, and organic kale tossed with house-made mango-lemon vinaigrette, organic guacamole, fresh mango chunks, grilled corn, organic pico de gallo, tortilla strips, queso, coconut lime drizzle, house-pickled onions, organic cilantro, chopped green onion, and pepitas" Sounds pretty good right? Sounds like it's loaded with a lot of good stuff, right? It wasn't really. Mostly Rice and beans (Which normally would be fine) but at $15 it isn't. It had a little scoope of guac and tomatos and kale here and there. Mango, which I didn't really care for. It was disappointing. My friend was curious about the Mac & cheese, so we got a side of that. If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought it was just plain macaroni shells. No cheese whatsoever, not even vegan equivalent of Cheese. Maybe they did it on purpose to ween people off of cheese, fake or not. It was sad and another $6 wasted. From what I understand, Veggie Grill is part of a chain, so that can explain some of the lower quality, but man if this the effort they're serving up regularly, trying to cater to a vegan diet, I can't recommend coming here.

    MAVERICK BURHER

Came here after visiting the the pike street flea market. You seat yourself and grab menus to see what you want. Then when ready you go up to order and take a number to your table so they know when to come. I got the buffalo bomb and my girlfriend got the maverick burger. We also shared the truffle mac and cheese. I wasn't too fond of the mac and cheese since I'm used to real cheese but my girlfriend who can't have real cheese loved it. We both also liked the buffalo bomb and maverick burger. Overall the place is really great even if you're not vegan. I'd go to it again for lunch.

We came here for dinner before Enchant Christmas. We ordered the SoCal Burger, the Steakhouse Burger, sweet potato fries, regular fries, Mac Cheese, and crispy cauliflower. Everything was really good! I loved the tempeh bacon on the SoCal Burger, so crunchy and tasty. My mom and sister said the Steakhouse Burger tasted so real--they loved the bleu cheese and horseradish sauce. The Mac Cheese was pretty good too (I added cracked black pepper). The crispy cauliflower was yummy; I would have preferred for it to be "Buffalo" style, but it was fine with a plain breading and a ranch dipping sauce. The atmosphere was kind of fancy fast food. The seating was nice and comfortable, and the decor was pleasant. For beverages, they had water, strawberry lemonade (delicious!), lemonade, and iced tea. They had a self-service station with salt and pepper grinders, hot sauce, utensils, napkins, and ketchup. Our order taker/order runner is the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. He behaved as if he would rather be anywhere else. He never smiled; in fact, he had a sour face the whole time he took our order. We definitely felt like we were bothering him. And the attitude was the same when he brought our food to us. If the customer service was better, I would give this 5 stars in a heartbeat!

I don't get to Veggie grill very often anymore (as unfortunately there aren't any in SF); my most recent visit to the downtown Seattle location was my first after they were acquired by Next Level. I was delighted to find that they're as good as ever, if not better. First, huge shoutout to the really welcoming and friendly associate at the downtown location. She was very attentive to myself and others who came in, and even helped provide recommendations for those who were on the fence about certain items. As for the food itself, I thoroughly enjoyed the cali tempeh bowl. It was full of veggies but also very savory with a great sauce. My partner, likewise, thought the chicken sandwich was solid. We also got some food to go--the caesar salad and pumpkin cake--and the delicious vibes kept coming. Given price and convenience, Veggie grill is an option I'm always happy to go to.

Grabbed food from here to go with not many expectations but actually really enjoyed it. Everything is vegetarian, but they have a lot of options that mimic meat. I got the kimchi "steak" bowl which had a lot of veggies and flavor from the sauces. The portion was good and it was just a solid bowl, comparable to many of the more hyped bowl places in the area. My friends also really enjoyed the bowls and burgers they tried. Would come back!

I love veggie grill. I've loved it since the first time I went when they were only in LA. This was my first time at the Seattle location and the location isn't great. There were people smoking crack right outside the door. But the food was great! We got the sunrise burger (I think that's what it's called) with the yo egg on it. And the kimchi bowl, which was spicy but delicious.

They have plant based protein food and everything is vegan/vegetarian. I ordered salad bowl with plant based turkey and truffle mac and cheese. Which I paired with mushroom tacos and Veggie Nachos. Everything was freshly made and super healthy

    Nachos

I love it here!!! We got the tofu zen bowl and the steak for dinner, I recommend everyone to give this place a try. Bonus points that the amount of protein is on the menu

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.

I got the Fast Eddie with fries and it was alright. The meat was bit dry. Yes there was the au jus to dip in and it helped quite a bit, but all the flavors just didn't mesh. It was basically an ordinary french dip. The fries were okay, but the jalapeno aioli was great! That made everything better, but not enough to save the sandwich. Located in the Seattle Center Armory, along with many other food vendors, Big Mike's Sandwich Company is serving up huge cheesesteaks, chopped cheese, and other East Coast-style subs. For $25, I picked up the cheesesteak and fries combo. Not a terrible price for the portion. Waited about 10-15 minutes for the sandwich to come out. You order on a tablet here, and then they call your name. It's a small storefront, so you really have to stay nearby to hear your name being called in the large space that is the Armory. Not much interaction with staff. Plenty of seating throughout the Armory, though shared with other restaurants. The food came out piping hot. Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good. I thought some pieces of the steak were a bit tough, and the roll seemed a bit over-steamed or possibly stale. A good sandwich and decent portion, nonetheless. I'm still going 5 stars here. I think Big Mike's is a great choice if you want a hearty, meat-filled sandwich and you happen to be in the area. However, I think you could be happy with another dining option in the Armory, too. My kids loved the MOD Pizza nearby. While there isn't anything wildly unique going on at Big Mike's, they are still pushing out great sandwiches at reasonable prices with a no-frills ordering process.

The only drawback was the price--at around $20 per sandwich, it felt a bit expensive for what you get, especially considering it was just a 6-inch sub, even though the quality was good. We visited during a FIFA World Cup match, so the line was quite long, but it moved steadily and efficiently. No complaints there. The atmosphere is casual and straightforward, with indoor seating only. Its downtown location near the stadiums makes it a convenient spot for a quick meal before or after an event.
