I order the salmon plate with teriyaki and mango salsa. Along with the plate you get two sides so I order the garlic broccoli and jalapeno coleslaw. Everything was really good except I was very disappointed in the size of the salmon - it was tiny! For a $30 lunch (w/drink + tip) I would have expected a larger piece of salmon. Other than that the food was really good - the salmon was a little on the salty side but I guess it's from the teriyaki sauce. I would come back and try other food. While i was driving to the hotel to check in this place caught my eye due to color and how it looks from outside. The menu is amazing i saw a mix of different cuisine asian, mexican, thai and american but as per the price the quality and the taste is not at all good. All the things i ordered was pretty bland no flavour i think this menu is design for super health conscious people or the one who is on diet. I asked for still bottle water and they don't have it the most basic beverage they don't have :/ ordered crispy cauliflower but the batter did not have any flavour or seasoning i had to add salt on top as they give me the option to get buffalo sauce on side, tacos were ok nothing much special. Got asain bowl for my gf she took two bites and couldn't finish as there were no flavour while we were so hungry after 8hrs of flight . All silverware and tissue is a self service i don't even know for what reason all these type of restaurant ask for tips when its a self service except the one who prepares the food for you and i'm sure they get paid by owners ! I still left 20% tip for order taker to put the food on the table after that they never checked how was the food or anything since you pay upfront so cannot do anything about. Even the burger i ordered does not come with fries even after paying so much for a burger. We stopped in to Veggie Grill and ordered the buffalo wrap, chik'n nuggets with BBQ sauce, and carrot cake. Ordering itself was fine, but the line moved really slowly since only one person was ringing orders, and for some reason the self-ordering screen wasn't in use. It's a busy spot, you order first, then find a seat, and they bring your food out. Which is a process I actually enjoy. The buffalo wrap was pretty good. Definitely had that buffalo kick, but the halves weren't consistent. One side had plenty of sauce, the other was much lighter, which was a little disappointing since we were splitting it. The chik'n nuggets were solid, standard vegan nuggets, but I appreciated that they weren't overly greasy like I've seen at other places. The BBQ sauce was on the sweeter side than I expected, but still fine. They did forget our carrot cake at first, but once we asked, they brought it right out. The cake itself was just okay, you could tell it might have been sitting a day, but the portion was generous. Overall, it wasn't a bad meal at all, but I'm not sure I'd rush back either. read more

The more I adopt eating vegan in the interim, the more my expectations rise. For the amount being shelled out, I'm looking at portions, taste, presentation, you know all the usual things I mention in my reviews. I've been let down no lie, and the latest place to do so was Veggie Grill. I got the Ranchero Bean Fiesta - "House-made ranchero beans, Tex-Mex beefy crumbles, steamed organic rice, and organic kale tossed with house-made mango-lemon vinaigrette, organic guacamole, fresh mango chunks, grilled corn, organic pico de gallo, tortilla strips, queso, coconut lime drizzle, house-pickled onions, organic cilantro, chopped green onion, and pepitas" Sounds pretty good right? Sounds like it's loaded with a lot of good stuff, right? It wasn't really. Mostly Rice and beans (Which normally would be fine) but at $15 it isn't. It had a little scoope of guac and tomatos and kale here and there. Mango, which I didn't really care for. It was disappointing. My friend was curious about the Mac & cheese, so we got a side of that. If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought it was just plain macaroni shells. No cheese whatsoever, not even vegan equivalent of Cheese. Maybe they did it on purpose to ween people off of cheese, fake or not. It was sad and another $6 wasted. From what I understand, Veggie Grill is part of a chain, so that can explain some of the lower quality, but man if this the effort they're serving up regularly, trying to cater to a vegan diet, I can't recommend coming here. read more

The last time my friend visited Austin, TX, he asked if there was a Veggie Grill nearby. I told him that we didn't have that franchise in Texas. He promised me that whenever I'm in Seattle that he would take me to his favorite restaurant. So when I took a solo trip to Seattle, departing from the train. My friend took me to The Veggie Grill on his lunch break. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't packed. There was approximately 3 people sitting inside. My friend got his usual chipotle ranch sandwich. I was going to get a bowl, but I'm so glad that I switched to getting a sandwich. My friend said that the sweet potato fries were the best. A must try! My friend wasn't wrong, the fries were thick with thick potato chunk to bite into. The sweetness was mild, but not greasy. A crispy crunch! The sandwich I got was absolutely delicious. The texture of the tofu was a stunner, super juicy and the breading remained on with each bite. The sandwich was huge. I'm so glad the tofu patty wasn't greasy either; an old restaurant called Project Pollo (owner sold it to meat eaters), but I used to get their crispy "chik-in" and it would be loaded in some form of grease that I'd have to squeeze it out before eating. Luckily, this sandwich was solid and grease free. The food hit the spot and didn't upset my stomach so I know the food was completely vegan/plant based. Now I'm wishing Veggie Grill would branch out to Houston, Austin, or San Antonio! read more

Came here after visiting the the pike street flea market. You seat yourself and grab menus to see what you want. Then when ready you go up to order and take a number to your table so they know when to come. I got the buffalo bomb and my girlfriend got the maverick burger. We also shared the truffle mac and cheese. I wasn't too fond of the mac and cheese since I'm used to real cheese but my girlfriend who can't have real cheese loved it. We both also liked the buffalo bomb and maverick burger. Overall the place is really great even if you're not vegan. I'd go to it again for lunch. read more

We came here for dinner before Enchant Christmas. We ordered the SoCal Burger, the Steakhouse Burger, sweet potato fries, regular fries, Mac Cheese, and crispy cauliflower. Everything was really good! I loved the tempeh bacon on the SoCal Burger, so crunchy and tasty. My mom and sister said the Steakhouse Burger tasted so real--they loved the bleu cheese and horseradish sauce. The Mac Cheese was pretty good too (I added cracked black pepper). The crispy cauliflower was yummy; I would have preferred for it to be "Buffalo" style, but it was fine with a plain breading and a ranch dipping sauce. The atmosphere was kind of fancy fast food. The seating was nice and comfortable, and the decor was pleasant. For beverages, they had water, strawberry lemonade (delicious!), lemonade, and iced tea. They had a self-service station with salt and pepper grinders, hot sauce, utensils, napkins, and ketchup. Our order taker/order runner is the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. He behaved as if he would rather be anywhere else. He never smiled; in fact, he had a sour face the whole time he took our order. We definitely felt like we were bothering him. I don't get to Veggie grill very often anymore (as unfortunately there aren't any in SF); my most recent visit to the downtown Seattle location was my first after they were acquired by Next Level. I was delighted to find that they're as good as ever, if not better. First, huge shoutout to the really welcoming and friendly associate at the downtown location. She was very attentive to myself and others who came in, and even helped provide recommendations for those who were on the fence about certain items. As for the food itself, I thoroughly enjoyed the cali tempeh bowl. It was full of veggies but also very savory with a great sauce. My partner, likewise, thought the chicken sandwich was solid. We also got some food to go--the caesar salad and pumpkin cake--and the delicious vibes kept coming. Given price and convenience, Veggie grill is an option I'm always happy to go to. read more

This downtown location has really gone downhill in both quality and customer service. While I was waiting, another customer's order was messed up--something was missing, and he just said "forget it" and left. I ordered a simple burger and fries. After waiting 25 minutes, they brought the burger but no fries. When I asked, the staff member said, "Oh, I forgot to add it, so you didn't pay for it." Was not happy with our order. 1st up: KIMCHI STEAK BOWL We substituted the brown rice for Quinoa and the quinoa was cold, clumpy and frozen. The description said it came with a sesame gochu drizzle, but I don't see no drizzle. 2nd up: MAVERICK BURGER This one was especially sad, only reason I got this was because of the onion rings. Today my partner and I got dinner at Veggie Grill in Downtown Seattle. If you haven't heard of Veggie Grill, they are a plant-based restaurant franchise with over 30 locations in the U.S. The owners originally opened shop back in 2006 in California, intending to get more people to swap from feasting on livestock to something more sustainable, humane, and healthy. It's not my favorite vegan restaurant, but for the price, it's doable. I prefer Plum Bistro or Harvest Beat, but those restaurants are more for special occasions since they are a little pricy. We had their nachos and far east chicken bowl. So the nachos were good...but most nachos taste well...with meat and cheese or tofu/cashew cheese its all good. The east chicken bowl (chicken is fried tofu) it again was decent. But the pickled vegetables are soooo not pickled. Coconut base sauce is decent but i got magbe a teaspoon full of it in the dish Also why call it chicken and not tofu. Arent customers already signing up for vegan food that you dont have to trick them? And although tofu is tasty on its own, its not chicken. I'm not a vegetarian, but I think the food at Veggie Grill is pretty darn tasty. They use fake meat, so you might not even notice the difference. Also, I just learned that they are dairy free too! This location gets pretty busy during lunchtime, so go during off hours or order online and pick it up. They have a little section where they have all of the to go orders, so you don't have to wait in line. This place reminds me of a Taco Time. You order and pay at the counter, then someone will bring the food to your table. Their dining area has booths and tables. I usually order the Super Taco Salad. It has Al pastor taco "meat", supergreens (baby kale, brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli), grilled corn, avocado, pinto beans, grape tomatoes, cheddar "cheese", crema, citrus vinaigrette, cholula sauce, and is served with tortilla crisps. Being that it is sort of out of my way, the chances of me visiting the Chicago location are slim. So with that, I made it a priority to visit this location which sat just short of a mile from my hotel in downtown Seattle. It made my day to encounter Veggie Grill which sits next door to a Potbelly Sandwich Shop, and nearby Westlake Park. I was confused after entering because of the set-up near the door. I took notice of others who looked confused as I did and I even guided two customers to the register which sits on the far end. It did not take long for me to be acknowledged by Dominique, the host who took my order. I took an interest in both the house veggie burger and the diablo quesadilla burger while looking, then asked the host which is the better option. She mentioned that if you do not like spicy foods I would not recommend the diablo quesadilla burger, which left only the house veggie burger which I ordered with a green medley salad, and a maine root ginger brew drink. I had every intention of ordering takeout, but once I saw customers dining in I changed my mind. A very trendy and casual ambiance is Veggie Grill. As I waited for my meal I admired the diversity of customers coming in-and-out as well as the ones walking by looking with a slight interest. Within a more than acceptable timeframe, Dominique brought me my meal which had a spiffy appearance. The house veggie burger was good, but not as flavorful as I had hoped. That green medley salad on the other hand surpassed my expectations which came with ranch dressing on the side. All in all a pleasant experience ordering at Veggie Grill. Eat your veggies kids (and don't forget the beer while you're at it)! This place is entirely vegetarian along with some vegan choices. It's a clean, chic style modern eatery. You walk up to the counter to order, and then they bring it to your table. The food is super duper fresh, and more importantly, they serve BEER! Hooray beer! They have 3 or 4 choices of bottled beer - I saw Blue Moon, Corona, Stella Artois for sure, but I think they had at least one more. The grub: I had the Super Taco Salad ($11.50) that included al pastor "Beyond Taco Meat" (same makers of the Beyond Meat Burger), baby kale, cabbage, avocado, tomatoes, pinto beans, grilled corn, topped with shredded cheese, crema, and a citrus vinaigrette/cholula dressing. It included two crisp corn tortillas on the side. I broke these up and mixed them around in my taco salad. My opinion on the grub: The Beyond Taco Meat tastes very similar to real meat, and had a good al pastor seasoning to it. There was a perfect balance of this fake taco meat and the pinto beans so you won't feel like you are just sitting there eating rabbit food. They also include plenty of avocado and they aren't stingy with the tomatoes either (avocados and tomatoes are my favorites). The grilled corn was a very good sweet corn - very sweet. However, it was chilled for some reason. Not sure what was up with that. Regardless, it was so tasty that I wished they had put more in the salad - there was just a tiny bit. Why four stars instead of five? Even though the quality AND quantity were both good, I just felt it's a tad on the pricey side. BUT, I would definitely visit again. They keep raising their prices! And messing with the rewards system. I've been coming here for a while, as it is convenient and quick vegan food, and for a while it was relatively affordable for downtown. I've seen then shrink their patties recently, shortly before raising their prices again. The staff is very nice though, and its usually a pretty clean joint. This is a busy weekday lunchtime Veggie Grill ALL VEGAN establishment both to dine and take out order. I looked at this Yelp app menu and found out at the counter that what I wanted to order were both on an "Old" menu per cashier. (NOTE: the yelp app menu will need an update.) The cashier was patient to offer suggestions and also wait for us to pick a new order per their current menu while there was quite a line waiting. We ordered the tres 'fish' tacos... nice crisp and flavor in a vegan taco; and, Far East bowl... spicy flavor kick from the curry. Cool cucumber and carrot slaw on the side to balance that spice.
