    EL SOMBRERO

A bit expensive but you will get a nice sized fresh salad! Can never go wrong with the El Sombrero. Staff is very nice and the line moves quickly. Way better than the airport location.

Chunk of dirty in my salad that turned to mud in my mouth!

Bit into a chunk of dirt! Thought it was a piece of steak and bit into it which basically turned to mud in my mouth! It took forever to wash the grain pebbles out! I almost threw up! I called and talked to someone at Evergreens yesterday and they said someone would call me back today to make it right. You would think with such a serious issue they would make good on their promise but no call and they are closed now. Dirty and terrible service. So gross!

I was walking by one day and decided to download the Evergreens app on my phone. It came with a reward where I was able to buy a salad for just $5. I chose to order the salad through my app and pick it up to go for dinner. When I did this, I chose one of their featured salads and was able to include additions to my salad through the app. When I went to the store, I didn't have to wait in line and was able to just grab my salad and go, since you also pay through the app. I thought my salad was very filling and all of the ingredients tasted very fresh. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would recommend downloading their app to make things easier on the go.

Right by the offices, so you know it's going to be PACKED by lunchtime--ordering ahead is not a suggestion, it's a necessity. Regardless, Evergreens Salad is such a great, hearty, and healthy option for lunch. For around $12 you can stack your salad full with endless vegetable options--from roasted to raw to pickled. I also love how fruit is an option! The sauces are also such a hit. This place doesn't skimp on toppings and each bowl could last me for two meals.

I've gone to Evergreens several times for lunch during work days a few times, when I've felt like getting a salad for a given day. It gets the job done, but I think it's just okay. I think I much prefer Toss'd, which is much cheaper and better-tasting, in my opinion, but is now too far from my workplace to warrant a frequent trip. == Food == Evergreens, of course, mostly focuses on serving you salad, and you can pick from either a list of pre-set salads, or customize your own. The ingredients they use here are pretty good, and there's a pretty decent variety of options to choose to put on your customized salad. The ingredients work pretty well, though I've found the ingredients at a few other salad places in town (like Toss'd) to taste a little better. Rating - 4/5 == Value for Price == For a salad, and for the amount you get, Evergreens makes you pay quite a lot. I once got a custom salad without any proteins (I wasn't feeling like adding proteins that day), and it cost me $9 before tax (this was circa early 2019). That seems kind of high, considering that places like Toss'd (where I've also preferred the taste) charge only $7 for a similar portion size. Not only that, but if you did want to add proteins, it's another $3, and again, that's higher than rival salad places. So, overall, when I went, I just had this lingering feeling that I notably overpaid for my food. It was still pretty decent food, though, so it's not like there was extremely low value for the price I paid, however. I just feel I would have liked going to other salad places for the taste, and the price here at Evergreens wasn't helping to sway my opinions of it too well. Rating - 2.5/5 == Service == Overall, the service at Evergreens was pretty decent. They took my order quite well, and making the order on my end was relatively hassle-free. The person taking my order was also very nice enough to recall that Samsung Pay could work with their payment systems, even though they didn't have an up-to-date credit card machine (Samsung Pay is backwards compatible with such machines, since it uses MST). This is quite a surprise to me, since most folks would assume that because Apple Pay didn't work with such legacy systems, Samsung Pay probably wouldn't either. It as only a minor thing, so it doesn't boost the service score here too much, but it was nice that the person behind the counter recognized this. Rating - 4/5 == Overall == All in all, Evergreens does a decent job of providing me with my salad fixes, whenever I'm feeling it. It's not the best salad I've had in town, but it still tastes pretty good. I just wish it was cheaper than it currently is, as it's pretty darn pricey right now, especially compared to competitors. Rating - 3.5/5

This place has become my absolute go-to place for my lunches. I'm on a low carb diet which requires me to eat as clean as possible and this restaurant can definitely deliver all of those things quite nicely! I have recently been using their app to order ahead and then just pickup my salad / grain bowl. I find this method to be much easier than waiting for lunch crowds and also when requesting a larger bowl (easier to eat in a larger bowl without everything spilling) they don't fuss about adjustments....when in person you constantly have to correct the order if you're big into modifying. Just a tip.

    Service with a smile!

Pros : + Some of the best tasting salads I've had + Sustainability efforts (100% fully composting containers, napkins, utensils) + they let your use your own glass containers here instead of using their "plastic" stuff + friendly service + happening location + you can ask the server to "pack it well" for more salads Cons : - too little for too much = expensive salad - sustainability efforts not good enough. Compostable or not, it's still waste. Why not a self bussing reusable station? Extra point kudos : The girl who served me was awesome. Mahalo!!! :)

It's great to have a location nearby! Fresh produce and delicious salads eaten today. I brought home the asian chix and skinny greek salads. It's the holiday weekend (lot's of eating and drinking); eating a fresh and healthy salad made me feel better about my food choices later on in the weekend, haha! Will return...

I love Evergreens Salad - amazing varieties, fresh, delicious dressings. Apart from great quality, their service is outstanding - I had ordered a salad through MealPal, some urgent work didn't allow me to get it at the stipulated time. After speaking with them over the phone, their manager, JR assured me that I can come pick it up after work, asked for an estimate so they can prepare the salad fresh, close to my arrival. If that's not brilliant customer service, then I don't know what is!

My custom salad with chicken, lots of veggies, some fruit, and the citrus marmalade dressing - AMAZING!

My new go-to spot for custom salads chopped and perfectly curated with tons of options and friendly service! It was my first time here and honestly, I've been craving a place like this in Seattle. We had a place like it called "Hello Bistro" in Pittsburgh that I ADORE, and this place meets the bill. They have a bunch of salad combination suggestions, but that can be overwhelming. I generally know what I like and so I took a stab at creating my own salad, and with the help of the guy behind the counter recommending a dressing, I was able to get a salad that PERFECTLY pleased me. For real, I'll be back. The one thing about it that I'm not super into is the price. It's a little bit high. I wish it were like a few dollars cheaper, then I'd be back a TON. It's just a bit of a delicacy at these prices. But it's well-done so I'll be back. Can't really get this anywhere else. I recommend the citrus marmalade dressing if you're going to have fruit in your salad. Very yummy and light and a perfect amount of sweet (not too much)!

We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

I placed my order through Yelp, which redirects customers to DoorDash for fulfillment. Unfortunately, there was no option to specify the spice level for the paneer masala side dish, despite the restaurant description highlighting customizable spice levels as part of its offering. Because I have health-related dietary concerns, I called the restaurant immediately after placing the order to request a mild spice level. The staff member who answered was initially unable to locate my order, even after I spelled out the name multiple times, which significantly delayed the process. My husband later called and was able to get someone to find the order, but when I called back again to confirm the mild spice request, I was told it was too late to make any changes. I also had an earlier issue when I accidentally went to the wrong location and called for assistance. Rather than providing the Bellevue location's direct number or helping redirect me, I was placed on hold multiple times, which added to the inconvenience. While the food itself was excellent, the customer service and ordering experience were disappointing. Since the Yelp/ DoorDash ordering flow does not allow customers to specify spice preferences for certain items, I expected more flexibility and consideration when I called immediately after placing the order with a reasonable health-related request.

Oh, and a vodka lemonade - you can get cocktails delivered via DoorDash! Everything was super good, especially the chili cheese dog. They were really generous with the chili (a full cup of it) and it was delicious. The lemonade is made from scratch and I really enjoyed that, as well - not too sweet. When we did takeout, we each got a sandwich, and we also got a Chicago dog, "chum bucket" w/ tots, and a handful of cocktails. I'd had kind of a bad week and was basically like, I don't even care, let's just get whatever we want even if it's an insane amount of stuff, haha. They do single serving craft cocktails for takeout in little cans, which is pretty cool. And they were SO GOOD (all with very clever nautical-themed names). I think our favorite was the "No Ship Sherlock" seasonal Moscow mule. The Chicago dog was amazing - based on this and my previous chili cheese dog, I can say without hesitation that their hotdogs are 100% 10/10. The "chum bucket" tots were also really good, and again came with a very generous full cup of chili. I hate to say it because everything else was so good, but the sandwiches were pretty disappointing for the price, we both thought. I had a tuna sandwich and my bf had a veggie sandwich. They used fresh, quality ingredients, but both sandwiches were kind of bland, and a lot smaller than we were expecting for $14 apiece. That's the only reason I dropped a star, but aside from that, they are 5 star all the way. So, we would not revisit the sandwiches, but hotdogs and cocktails HELL YES YES YES!! Anything involving the chili is also highly recommended. And although I didn't really go into detail about it, chicken tenders were good, too (there were more in there than what the photo shows) - crispy and well-seasoned, and more than what I was expecting.
