We attended a birthday dinner at Vasquez #3 and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It was fight night when we went they had a large screen showing the fight & also a DJ and a dance floor with colorful lights and upbeat music to keep the night going! The food was great! I had mushroom street tacos w potato's and my significant other had the nopales quesadilla! They were both delicious! The salsa was thin but don't let it fool you, it packed the perfect amount of heat with tons of flavor! The newly added FULL BAR was great we tried margaritas, Palomas and Mexican martinis, we loved them all! The waitstaff was up beat and very attentive to our big top! First time here. Our waitress was nice and came back to check in and refill our drinks. We asked for chips and salsa very good. The food was delicious. We had barbacoa plate which had lots of flavor and very generous portions of beans and potatoes, our daughter had 2 barbacoa tacos and my husband had a barbacoa taco and a bean cheese taco also very generous portions. We love this place. We have lived nearby for a few years, and have dined in a number of times, but usually we pick up breakfast tacos to go. Those breakfast tacos are PACKED -- delicious and full of fillings. Always more salsas provided than we need, which we use for other meals at home lol. HOWEVER, it is worth coming here in person -- the food is delicious and fresh and the service is top notch. You get to keep the red and green salsa dispensers on your table, so you never run out. All the servers take care of all the tables, and it really makes you feel like they care. The servers wear shirts that mention their great customer service, so the business knows, and cares, and it shows. The restaurant is clean and well cared for, there are really cool/convenient condiment stands on the tables that hold a paper towel roll (so smart!!), and the place is decorated bright and colorful with some really cool paintings, including a copycat Austin mural on one wall with their name. This is a regular go-to spot that has never disappointed and was one of the first places to reliably provide takeout during the pandemic. This review is long overdue. read more

I was staying at the Comfort Suites Austin NW Lakeline and the free breakfast at the hotel was cereal and breakfast muffins. I can't have gluten nor wheat anymore so that breakfast was out of the question. This place is only a three minute walk from the hotel and is open from 07:00, except for Mondays, when the other locales in the block aren't open either. The place has got a sign above the door that says "Vazquez #3" but it seems you can't find it that way on Yelp!, only on Google Maps. It's a little sort of hole-in-the-wall place, right next to a Navy recruitment office. They serve the typical Mexican fare so my order was always a cup of coffee and huevos rancheros with beans. The plate usually comes with cubed potatoes but due to a recently discovered group of food sensitivities, I also can't have potatoes. They were very kind and offered Mexican rice instead. That dish comes with flour tortillas so I had to ask for corn tortillas to smear in the beans and rice. This place saved my breakfasts during my stay and I'd go back if I'm ever in Austin again. read more

This spot is ok but not as good as Vasquez #1 on Breaker. The carne guisada was flavorless and kind of tough. I was very disappointed. The portion was huge though. Once I ordered fajita and egg tacos to go and it took just over 20 mins to be ready. I'm sorry but that's unacceptable for a breakfast taco.... SPECIALLY WITHOUT A WARNING WHEN ORDERING! I can't fib, they were bomb though!! Vasquez has great beef fajita! The barbacoa is superb as well. The refried beans are so bland I wasn't even mad they spilled out into my to-go bag. I can make these breakfast tacos with ingredient from the Dollar Tree 100 yards from this restaurant. Right off 183 N on the Lake Creek exit sits this interesting looking small, Mexican restaurant. It appears that it may have charm, possibly some good dishes, so I thought I'd try it. The first time I did was a few years ago, and I thought it was ok. I recently went, and I believe I got two breakfast tacos and they were over $7. For me, that is a little much for a bean egg and cheese and a bacon egg and cheese, with ketchupy hot sauce and no homemade tortillas. The cheese was just shredded, and I was very unimpressed. I probably won't waste my time going back as they don't have alcohol either. Drive a little further and go to Serranos or Ramos. This is a no-go. read more

My wife and I go here once every week. They have an outstanding breakfast menu. The food is wonderful. Their breakfast tacos are generous and very tasty. Their service very good and friendly. The one dIsh that we will never order again is the caldo de res. It was awful! Our bowls contained large slabs of meat/gristle and no cabbage at all with very little vegetables. I wouldn't recommend this dish. Bad recipe. Otherwise it is a very good place dine-in. read more
