Cute local joint on the South Shore. Food was delicious. From the appetizer to dessert everything was great. The waitress was wonderful too. Everyone talks about the main course, but the lowly side was a standout. The homemade Cole Slaw is not to be missed. Can't wait to come back and try dinner.

This lobster was slammin! Filled with good pieces of lobster loaded with flavor and butter! No fancy work here just simple and delicious. The clams were also flavorful and full of bits of clam in the stuffing and that sauce was amazing. I cannot wait to come back here. The servers were all super nice and attentive side note make their lives easier and come through the door like a normal person not just seat yourself outside and wonder why you're not being helped. The place just screams classic seafood restaurant and I'm so here for it and I think you will be too!

Great server and attentive runner! My mom has been on a lobster roll mission. She has had 3 in one week! This was the third and she said it was by far the best. I had fried shrimp which had a cornmeal breading. The shrimp was tasty and not at all oily. The baked clams were not super flavorful. Chicken tenders were prepared like the shrimp and were a hit. The place is kind of a time capsule-it is tried and true amongst the locals.

I ordered fried platter-sea bass. It was very good! As you tell by the picture! Husband got a lobster roll-good taste very fresh but really small...average 5$ per bite. Grilled chicken Caesar salad was fair. Service was 4/10. Sat outside....ambiance eh! Could use a wash down of the table! Overall rating 6.5/10

Place is a gem hole in the wall discovery in Bellport. Small eat in place. Service was friendly. Food was good. Small portions compared to other places. For the menu my only critique is they don't have the price for the lobster roll listed. I could have asked the waitress of course, but to my discover as I was awaiting my food to arrive was they had a small white board on the wall with "lobster roll" 36 which means $36 lol. Please just put it on the menu for full transparency.

Wow what a great place for dinner! I got the Baymen special and got a ton of food for the price. The mussels were incredible and I could almost drink the sauce. My brother got the steak sandwich, and while the steak was great I wouldn't call it a sandwich. Will be coming again when in need of some good seafood!

I love seafood. Traveled and lived all across America, Europe, and Japan. Varney's is a total hidden gem. The service is friendly and welcoming. The place extremely cozy and welcoming. Now the star of the show is the food. We ordered baked clams, mussels, and lobster roll. I was impressed with the freshness and taste. Never judge a book by its cover. Like many other reviewers, Varney's is one of those places you want to share with everyone and hope it's only there for you. I urge you to come share this experience with this family owned restaurant. I will be back when visiting Long Island.

Service of our main waitress was very friendly and gave excellent recommendations which we loved. The first waitress who got us our drinks was a little tired, which I excused as it was a very busy lunch schedule. The French onion soup was great, but a bit salty for me. Oddly, my husbands wasn't as salty. We ordered the Fra Diablo plate for two which was made up of Snow crab, bay scallops, shrimp and mussels over linguini! We chose white sauce cause I prefer that to red sauce. Also on the side we were given Parmesan cheese and a small loaf of French bread. We were disappointed in the amount of the type Of seafood given. There were only 5 clams, 3 shrimp and one half of a snow crab portion. The rest was mussels and bay scallops. It is a charming place but the flours and table was sticky. I surely wouldn't eat anything that touched the table. The ladies room was neat and clean but my husband said someone threw up in the men's room and it's not like they ran into clean it. It's a casual place people might drop into on there way out to the east end.

The prices are outrageous for the food they serve. An old house converted to a restaurant. Very bland decor. A place for old people.

WHERE THE MEAT!!…read more This place used to be good, but after the recent management change, it's gone downhill. The serving sizes are ridiculously small. Don't even bother paying the extra $2.99 for extra meat; it's definitely not worth the extra half of a scoop you'll get. The meat is only about 10-15% of the rice and even less for the sandwiches. The Philly cheesesteak is all bread. The only reason to go there is because there are no other local halal restaurants in the area for now, hence why this is a monopoly in the area. Hopefully, a new Halal chicken/Gyro over rice restaurant opens in the Shirley, Mastic area, as our options are quite limited. We definitely need some new locations. How can a child eat all the chicken in one sitting? It's astonishing, but it confirms the fact that the ratio of meat to rice/bread is not up to par compared to industry standards. The only positive is the green and red sauces, as long as they're fresh.

1.5/3 Food + Beverages; 1/1 Service; 0.5/1 Value…read more I live in NYC where chicken over rice is essentially a staple and abound throughout Manhattan and the boroughs, so my review is biased having tried so many amazing carts before. While I've heard recommendations for Naz's, I was rather disappointed by the overall food on my visit. My family got take-out combinations over rice, and service was fast and efficient. We called in our orders and they were hot when we went to pick up the food. The restaurant itself was also maintained well and seemed hygienic. Everything was fresh, but the chicken, lamb, and rice were not particularly well seasoned with the aromatics and spices quintessential to halal cart food. The white sauce also tasted watered down in a literal sense. The flavor that was most prevalent was an acidic taste to everything that felt rather unpleasant as an aftertaste. At least the salad was plentiful, fresh, and crispy. While the portion felt somewhat standard, maybe on the smaller side even, I cannot justify $13 for an otherwise underwhelming platter. Even in Midtown Manhattan one can easily find cheaper combination plates serving up more food. All together, I can't see myself returning unfortunately.
