We came to town to snowmobile. Decided on this place and have not experienced any dinner this bad in a long time. My dish was sweet instead of as described on the menu which was mild, med or hot. Two of the 6 got sick to their stomachs and really believe it was the Mexican food. Service was super poor she asked how are meals were we told her mine was not good. She just walked away. Then offered us desert. We ordered deep fried ice cream she brought us something totally different. Then said since we didn't like our $14 dinner she would give us a free (not even the one we ordered) desert which cost $4.95. We also ordered 2 $33 pitchers of margaritas which were so weak there couldn't have been much alcohol in them. Overall one of the worst meals! I wouldn't recommend this unless your super desperate. There are other resturant in Columbia Falls that are the same price point and way better! Plus, your friends might not get sick! read more

If you like Mexican food, do not eat here. I've lived in Texas for almost 20 years and I've eaten Tex-Mex, Cali-Mex, Baja-Mex, and Authentic Mexican food in many different states and there is no way this place should be calling itself Mexican food. I should have left for 2 reasons 1 - because this restaurant is attached to a casino and 2 - every other dish had "topped with Parmesan cheese" on it. The nicest place near the Glacier to have a good Mexican food.!! The service was very quick and the servers very friendly. They helped us to know about the small meals just so that we don't end up wasting the food and since I am a vegetarian, they also suggested me to get black beans instead of the refried beans (which I was ordering) as it contained chicken sauce!! When we visit Columbia Falls every year, we stop by for the food. They've upgraded the building and the bar which looks great! The food isn't great anymore. The fajitas were salty and my tacos were soggy, couldn't eat them like a taco. I ordered a tamale on the side, but it was hard and tasted like it had ravioli sauce on it. So bummed! We walked in and we're greeted immediately had to wait less than 5 minutes for our table. The person that seated us was very nice. Unfortunately the server wasn't. I asked the drink special and he didn't know so went to look and said all the board said was margarita. I asked what flavors they had and he said sarcastically he didn't know he didn't work behind the bar. So I stayed with water. The food was good had good flavor. I was a server for many years no reason to be sarcastic if you don't know the drinks be honest say I'm not sure let me go find out. read more

The wife and I both ordered a burrito supreme for pick up. The food was tasty and a lot of it, but, like the lady used to say in the Wendy's commercial, "Where's the beef"? It was mostly rice, then beans, and you could hardly see any burger mixed in. So if you love rice and bean burritos this is the place for you! read more

We moved to Columbia Falls last October, took us awhile to try out Vaqueros. The outside of the building looks like it wouldn't be very nice inside so we were Leary of trying it out. What a surprise! Not a lot of options here in the Columbia Falls so if you're craving Mexican this may satisfy it. The portions are good size and the service has always been good. Prices are on the higher side but considering the lack of other options here it may be the best Mexican bang for your buck. read more

The good: fast service. The bad: weak drinks and bad food. My husband had Carme asada. Under seasoned, overcooked, and too thick. My fish tacos had a tiny amount of fish and were too salty. We loved both the food and the service at this place. It's basic Mexican food; not fancy but good and lots of it so we didn't leave hungry. All of the food arrived at the table plenty hot - the fajitas were still sizzling and the corn tortillas steaming. The carne asada had a different seasoning than I've had before but it was really good as were the refried beans. The only quibble I had was with the guacamole, which did not look or taste as fresh as I would have liked. The service was very friendly and efficient and we got several suggestions for other places to eat and visit during our stay. We will definitely return to eat here again. read more

Awesome and authentic Mexican food. I've never tried something off the menu I didn't like! The shredded beef is excellent and I recommend choosing that when you select your meat in your order. Service is always great. The only reason for 4/5 stars is that I've been there several times and each time the drinks from the bar have been almost unfinishable. Disclaimer: my fiancée and I were starving and had been car camping for about 20 days straight when we came here. We were not expecting much when we came here on our way into glacier national park but were pleasantly surprised. We ordered wet burritos, both of which were amazing; moist but not soggy with good depth of flavor. Service was quick and the chips were fresh. Overall we'll stop here next time we're in town to see if it was all a hunger-induced hallucination, but as far as I know it's a very solid restaurant. read more

One of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. Had to wave the waiter down to place a food order after 15 minutes, then he didn't check on us for an hour while avoiding eye contact as he served other tables.... No drink refills or more beer. When I asked him to just change the order to go he said it would be a while, ended up paying for drinks and leaving after an hour and a half. Vaqueros was great! Classic america-take-mexican food, but good regardless. I'm from orange county california, so believe me when I say I know what good mexican food tastes like. The food tasted great ( I got fajitas ) and portions were generous! The expansive menu featured everything from hamburgers to tortas. We were thankful for the great customer service and cleanliness of the restaurant. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the the set up of the seating area and the ambiance of a connected "mini-casino" & bar. The tables were lined up very geometrically inducing a bit of a sterile vibe. If possible I would rate vaqueros 4.5 stars. Other than that, vaqueros did not disappoint! read more

This place has great Mexican style food! I eat here often and several servers know me by name and visa versa. I would recommend this place( name changes every couple years!) over Dos Amigos any day. There sauce is always excellent. I hope they could figure out a way to serve fresher lettuce. Often soggy :( . And you will NEVER get a spoon (to scoop sauce on food) unless you ASK FOR IT. This is annoying. Overall, they deserve high marks but could get 5 stars if they solve soggy problem and drop prices a bit. After all beans and rice is very cheap. read more
