As a Rancho Cucamonga native, I've been coming to Victoria Gardens since the day it opened -- back when this whole area was dirt and construction fencing. I watched this mall get built. I even worked retail in this exact mall when I was 19 at Journeys. On top of that, I've worked for Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, BCBG as a personal stylist, Aldo, and Stuart Weitzman, across Glendale, Sherman Oaks, Canoga Park, and Rancho Cucamonga. I've also styled fashion shows throughout Los Angeles. So yes -- I have plenty of experience with real customer service, retail expectations, and actually treating customers like customers. Which is exactly why this Vans location is always such a disappointment. I stopped in with my husband and daughter so she could quickly try on a pair of shoes. I asked for help immediately and was told to wait -- fine -- but then I stood there for about five minutes like I was waiting for someone to acknowledge my existence. When an employee finally came over, I asked for a simple shoe size. Instead of helping with that, she dove straight into a hard sell on socks like I had wandered into a sock convention by accident. I politely declined -- because again, I was just trying to confirm a shoe size for my kid -- and her attitude changed instantly. Suddenly I'm getting the annoyed tone, the energy shift, and then she walked a few steps away to complain about me to her coworker... while I was still right there. No "thank you," no basic courtesy, nothing. Just rudeness and an unnecessary attitude -- not exactly the experience you want your 10-year-old to see while shopping with you. On the way out, the first employee reminded me about their "buy one, get one 50% off" promo. I let her know that online is 30% off plus rewards, so the in-store "deal" wasn't actually a deal. You'd think that would be obvious. Between the pressure to buy, the attitude, and the lack of even the most basic professionalism, the whole experience was uncomfortable and honestly embarrassing -- and not for me. After years of similar issues at this location, today officially sealed it: I'll keep buying Vans, just not from this store. read more

I walked in right around closing and this person came up to me saying they were closed. I said well the door was open, so how are you closed? . I picked out a pair of shoes within a minute. As soon as I was walking to the counter she kept on about being closed and so on. So I said "ok do you want to lose a sale or what !?" and she said it was up to me. So I just walked out. I've been a vans customer for years and after this I will never step foot into the Victoria store with this person in charge. Especially after my wife overheard her telling the cashier to not "check me out". Even before I picked out the shoes I wanted. This person named sharie or however she spells her name should not be a representative of the Vans brand. She's very condescending and has crappy customer service skills. This review is specifically for Janine and Janine alone. She was amazing from start to finish, the minute we walked through the door until the minute we left. She greeted up immediately upon entry and offered assistance and was extremely friendly. It should be noted she was continuously working throughout the store whether it was folding clothes or helping customers. We needed help finding a particular shoe and she not only incredibly helpful, but also extremely kind and interactive and made great conversation! The store unfortunately didn't have the size of the shoe we wanted and she immediately offered an alternative size in the similar style to try on and then offered to order the shoe for us as well. When we asked her if she could also check another store she immediately called to try and place them on hold. We wish we could've bought the shoes at the store because she deserved the sale. Valorie the Store Did NOT want to Give Us the Shoe Lace after Purchasing a Tennis Shoe. I walked into Vans Shoe Store here in Victoria Gardens, and spoke to Valorie who is the store manager. I showed her receipt, she read the receipt in detail. She ask to see the shoe, I told her the shoes are dirty. I left the shoes at the house because they were dirty. However, the receipt clearly showed the purchase was 7 days old. All I needed was ONE tennis lace that should have come with the shoes at the time of purchase. Valerie stated again, I needed to bring in the dirty tennis shoe so she could see the tennis before she could give me the tennis lace. I asked Valorie if I needed to call the Vans Cooperate Office. Valerie told me to go a head and call Vans Cooperate or purchase a pair of shoe lace. After going back and forth, and people start to look at her in the store, she gave me the shoe lace. read more

Truly appalled by management at the store, I went in today to buy some socks and while I was there I saw a the manager point at a younger Indian woman and whispered to her staff to watch her and pointed her out to every employee there. When she went to the counter to pay she was denied service the manager Sarah and coworker Jose. They said they denied her service and that it made them uncomfortable doing service with her and denied her service. From my position I could clearly tell that this was racial profiling and humiliating to support this company that allows this form of discrimination to be relevant mindset in this day and age. This vans store is located in Victoria Gardens. Accept long lines, limited merchandise. Pros: I love vans merchandise, always have I grew up in the 90s so now that they have a kids line I have dressed my son in head to toe vans since he was six. Old enough to fit into the kids line they have now. The person who helped me at the store moe was kind and helpful. These are the only two pros I can list about this particular van store in Victoria Gardens! Cons: Long lines to get in long lines to cash out. Didn't have any of the sizes I was looking for not one. I had went in originally to purchase school shoes for my son I picked out the two shoes I wanted told him the size after going to five different styles I finally found two shoes that they had in stock in his size fine but those. Person who helped me said that he would put them behind the cash register. While I was waiting in line I picked up some other items. Got to the register purchase my items walked out. After walking out I realized my shoes were in the bag the main reason why I went there! Called told them what happened asked if they could please hold the shoes because they were the last size. When I went back up to the front of the line told him I had purchased shoes but they weren't placed in the bag. One of the employees told me that I had to get back in the line. I told her I had already waited in that line and also the checkout line to purchase my items. Then she replied, " do you see the long line" I replied " like I said I had already waited in that long line and the second long line to check out. She shrugged her shoulders. Let me start with, I have been a fan of Vans for many years. I personally own many pairs and my daughter has had dozens over the years as her foot keeps growing. Today my daughter was interested in about five different pairs and all of them are out of stock. The customer service from Julia was amazing! This young lady needs a promotion. The experience of not being able to leave the store with shoes that we need, was a major bummer. This is not the first time this has happened at this store. This is probably the third time my daughter has left without shoes. The other times we had to go to other stores or order them online. There would absolutely be no reason for me to come to this particular store anymore because this seems to be the ongoing case. I went with my friend to buy some Vans for her 10 year old daughter's birthday. The store was very neat and organized but the workers seem to not be trained well. There was a worker standing on sales floor taking her lunch break eating an açaí bowl. When my friend said that she thought her daughter needed a kid's size 6,the worker on her lunch break interrupted and said that her daughter needed a women's size 6 and not a kid's size 6. She had a long explanation for it so I just bought the size that she recommended. I gave the shoes to my friend's daughter and they didn't fit. When she went to return them, they were actually a men's size six. The style of shoe isn't in stock anymore in any of the stores around us and her daughter is very upset because that's the only style she wanted. I don't understand why someone would get a men's size for a 10 year old girl. What could've been a really nice gift has turned into a disappointment and an inconvenience for my friend. read more

Yes, you can get Vans at other shops in the area but the prices and customer service is always so great here! The selection of shoes is huge and their clothes isn't too shabby. Definitely check out the sales rack or any other deals they have going on in the clothes area. Sometimes they have some shoes on sale that are worth picking up too. read more

My friend and I stopped in today; late afternoon-ish. It was super busy! Not only was the back of the store crowded with folks trying on shoes, the line to check out was crazy long, too. My friend and I asked for 4 pairs of shoes to try on (1 for me, 3 for her). Sophia assisted me, and another gentleman assisted my friend. Both employees were super sweet and prompt.
