LOVE this store........... all my visits here have been great, the last visit last week was the only one i was a little disappointed. I know it's no big deal; but as my son and I walked in we were not acknowledged one bit - we didn't get a hi, welcome or a I'll be with you in a moment. but once the 2nd girl from the back came to my rescue; she made up for it. I grew up in Alhambra and my dad would bring us shopping to this VANS store. My kids only wear VANS so instead of going to the mall i'll bring them here. I'm originally from Sacramento, but I wanted to buy a pair of shoes on my vacation. Once I walked into the store the staff was very nice and friendly. I was planning to get Sk8 Hi's, but when trying sizes one of the staff members recommended me the Sk8 Hi Pro's, which was definitely worth paying the extra $10 because of how comfy these shoes are. I went here to look for new shoes. This is a heaven for me, I love Vans. This location is quite empty compare to the ones that are located in the malls. There are only two helpers in here but they are super nice and helpful. I have some problems with my shoe size but the guy Johnny was so pleased to help me, he walked back and forth many times just to get me the right size and he also got me some other options for me just in case if I don't like the ones that I asked him to get. This is by far the best Vans Store - hands down. Location is only about miles away and they always have parking. I've been coming here for a a few year(s) and since I've been there Amy has been assisting us and she is wonderful. She is always cheerful, great attitude and always offering to help. This is my favorite Vans Store. I have been to the store in Monterey Park and their parking is terrible. Haven't had vans for a while and wanted to check out this store which has been here for decades. Was very impressed by some of the new styles and and prints offered nowadays. The manager, Sloane, was one of the best retail sales people I've encountered in some time. Very professional with a positive attitude and excited about the products and the brand. So glad I finally stopped in to this place. It sure was better than going to the mall and more fun than ordering online. read more

Just picked up a pair of kicks from here a few hours ago, and all I have to say is wow. First off, I picked up some shoes from another Vans store, but being the dimwit I am, I picked one size smaller than what I really am. This Vans store was much more closer than the other store, so I decided to drop by and see if they could help me out. Turns out I got more than what I originally intended. The staff here was very helpful and charismatic, always asking if I needed any help. They were all very patient with me and they were not rude in any way thankfully, Amy was especially helpful in helping me choose a pair of shoes, especially when she saw one of the shoes she picked for me had a minor fault. She quickly went off to fix the issue by picking another pair (she also tried to stifle my interest with other shoes which was really helpful in helping me choose a pair of shoes). Soon when everything seemed to be in order, she sent us on our way with no problem. All the girls were very helpful, charismatic, and offered great customer service. I would like to start off by saying i have been a loyal Vans customer for over 15 years now and today will be my last purchase ever with the company. Not only did i feel belittled, profiled and extremely unwelcome on my most recent visit 9/26, i felt harassed and intimidated for wanting to make a return on a purchase that i no longer felt was suitable for my needs. Mind you the purchase was only made 2 days prior to the initial return attempt on 9/25. When i walked in i was asked if i had an exchange, i said no i would like a return and was then asked a series of questions that a customer service professional should never ask. One thing to note is that nowhere on vans return policy (receipt, corporate site, or even on the in store return guidelines posting) does it say ANYWHERE that an ID is required for a return. My girlfriend who is an authorized user on the account the purchase was made from, attempted to make a return on Sunday for me due to an emergency i unfortunately needed to attend to and was very rudely and abrasively turned away. When she told me this i immediately checked all Vans postings about return policy (because i had been shopping there for so long i thought maybe something new was in affect and posted), nowhere does it say that an ID is required to make a return on a purchase made with a credit card. Fast forward to 9/26 when i am going to make the return, employee travis who later identified himself as the store manager began to ask me why was i was making a return, why didn't i want to exchange, why am i returning them so soon, ect. He remembered my initial purchase and the way he turned away my girlfriend from making a return without an ID so he asked me for my ID. When this was done i asked him as any curious consumer would, where does it say in your return policy that a photo ID is required to make a return? I even told him i had an emergency and how coming to make this return really inconvenienced me and he smiled very disrespectfully as if i told him a joke. He then proceeded to tell me very smugly "it is an unwritten policy that we have to follow". I then told him I was unaware that any vans, or retailer for that matter is able to enforce an unwritten rule. Once he realized i was an educated customer that would not be pushed he began to back pedal and say that his district manager Mabelle (he refused to give me a last name because of another unwritten policy he says they have to follow) enforces this policy and that he himself has been with the company for 8 years and every vans follows this return policy. This can't be true as i've spent thousands with vans retailers across California and i have NEVER experienced this unwritten rule. I asked him more question to which he evaded and eventually said that he would no longer be assisting me with the questions i had. He refused to give me a number to call corporate (did not give me a number, told me that i could find the number on the vans website if i need something), he refused to give me his DM's information and he refused to do his job, customer service. So vans, since you're apparently in the business of enforcing unwritten policies and procedures, can someone please contact me and explain this to me? I will personally never shop at a Vans store again. Terrible management in this location. Definitely would like to pursue this. read more

My uncle took my here today after we had lunch ( : The store has been here for a very long time, my dad and uncle bought their first pairs of shoes here when they first moved to California, and that was like 30 something years ago, so... The parking is in the back, and a little in the front. I was greeted the minute I walked in. The employees were so nice! They don't follow you around or anything, and there's always 2-3 employees there so you won't be ignored if you need anything. When I asked for the sized vans I wanted, the guy went in and came out in less than 5 minutes with 3 pairs of shoes. He also commented that he liked my color taste. The other two pairs of shoes were really nice too! There are pretty good sales in there too. Two women shirts that are usually $22 each were 2 for $30, jackets for buy one get one half off, and I bought myself a beanie and was pleasantly surprise when I found that I could get it half off! ( : I ended up buying a pair of van's, a jacket, and a gray beanie. I will definitely be back here whenever I need a new pair of shoes. Best vans I've ever been to. read more

I have always loved this store and had not been here in 2 years! The staff has definitely changed. There were 2 girls working the other day, one was very helpful with a contagious smile but the other curly haired young lady had a bit of an attitude. As if she didn't want 2 be there. I understand we are humans and have off days but she could have suck it up for a bit.. The young lady who helped me had a strange name. I believe it was Jazil. None the less she was verrry helpful, patient and gave off such positive vibes! If I could give it zero stars I would. So I came to make a return. Waiting in line, Guy comes up to us cause the girl at the register calls him. He asked how he could help us. We said we had a return. His response? "Oh you have to wait" lol really? Obviously we had to wait since there was someone in front of us. (Don't think hire standards requires much education) anyway, finally our turn, tell the girl we want to make a return and then she says we were the 2nd return of the day and she had no money and offered us store credit. I hope she was joking because that was beyond the dumbest response ever. They've been open since 10am. This happened at 11:40am. You're out of money? The lady before us had a return of $92 and some change. How in the world is a Vans store not equip with enough change? You have two registers. This was such a waste of time. The Vans store at Santa Anita has far better customer service. This store needs to refresh their employees customer service etiquette because the first time was back In August and the manager looked so pissy that morning because she had to be there. Her cheerful employee had more stamina than she did. Guess the bitchier you look or kiss ass the more likely you are to get promoted there. read more
