Melissa G was my aesthetician and the appointment started off great, although she didn't ask me how I like my brows done before starting, which is unusual. However, after 45 minutes or so I noticed she wasn't changing her gloves and they were getting really sticky with wax residue, so every time she'd touch me I'd get stickier too - the paper cover on the table underneath me was starting to come off stuck to me in shreds. After she adjusted the position of the wax table, including unplugging and replugging the wax warmer cord with her gloves still on, I politely asked her if she could change her gloves before continuing, and she said sure, she would if she *had* some (?!?!). Guess what, friends - there was only one more glove in the whole store in her size, and all the others were much much too small to fit her. I'm not sure how gloves don't get routinely restocked in a waxing salon, and I'm not sure how Melissa thought it would be ok to perform a nearly full-body wax appointment with one and a half pairs of gloves, when typically in my experience gloves get changed pretty often during a wax -- if she had welcomed me to my appointment and said, I'm so sorry, I realized I'm out of gloves, do you mind waiting 10 minutes while I run to the Bartell's LESS THAN TWO BLOCKS AWAY and grab a box, I would have been happy to wait AND would have been grateful for the emphasis on hygiene practices. I don't even want to think about the germs that got cross-contaminated onto my raw exfoliated skin from that one pair of gloves touching everything in the room. Never again will I book here.

She also asked me to REMOVE my review. And all this happened from 3.30 AM to 5 AM, yes early morning 3.30, the same person who didn't have time earlier to reply to my emails in the daytime. And when I told her that it's surprising that she had the time to send emails at 3.30 AM, she said that she can email at any hour suitable to her. Really? No, you cannot do that, you cannot disturb someone at 3.30 am. I couldn't sleep at all that night and it was really a horrible experience for me and I wish no one goes through something like this, that too just for a facial. Taylor Preston, the owner of Estrella Salon contacted me the next day, I had got waxing done from her in November 2014. Taylor apologized after reading Ceanna's emails and offered to give me a facial with 50% discount. You can read the whole thing below: According to Ceanna, my cancellations have interrupted her ongoing clients, but I don't know how she is accusing me for the July cancellation when she herself was not in Seattle from June to August 17th. And if she was busy she could have told me the very first day that she cannot accept new clients. She said just because she cancelled on me I shouldn't have taken it so personally and acted upon something so minor. And it doesn't warrant my emotional reactions to lash out at her business even if I got to know about the cancellation only after I inquired about my appointment. "Being informed is being informed", these were her words, and because I never received any service from her I can't write about my experience. So, in short a customer cannot be busy because they don't have any other work in their life other than getting a facial and they can't write about an experience before the actual service. She also told me that since she had OFFERED me a recommendation even when she has never met me so it was EXCELLENT customer service, yes she wrote those words in UPPER CASE. And that I never responded to this offer and that she can no longer offer me that recommendation. I mean, really? After living in Seattle for a year does anybody need recommendations? Her language clearly shows that she felt she was doing me a big favor with the RECOMMENDATION and that without her recommendation I can't find another esthetician. I felt like laughing because I have already received facials from 3 different estheticians in Seattle and they are all awesome, but I wanted something in walking distance from my apartment so I contacted her but now I really regret it. I really couldn't believe that I received emails with such language and few words in UPPER CASE and that too between 3.30 AM-5.30 AM. Are customers so unimportant that they should be obliged or scared to write about their negative experience?? This whole thing could have been handled maturely, rather than accusing and threatening a customer.

I can see parking being a little difficult here during busy hours since it's in belltown, but definitely worth it in my opinion. Another customer came in around 7:30pm requesting a mani/pedi and the owner happily agreed to provide service. TIP: Call in advance to ensure they're open if it's later at night!

Christy and her team not only got us ready with beautiful makeup & hair, but also finished much faster than the timeline we had previously discussed! And therefore, we had more time to do other wedding related activities. Her rates were also very reasonable. We received many compliments of how beautiful, yet natural we looked! There is one special thing I wanted to note about Christy and team. I had an outfit change from my Western bridal dress into my Chinese qipao. The makeup style for these two outfits can sometimes be very different - and if not done correctly, I wouldn't have looked as good in one or the other. Christy claims she didn't confirm the date stating that her first email says "-Booking is confirmed till contract signed." She may want to learn to proof read because I don't think she realizes she wrote the opposite of her claim. She could also have been more professional to check back with us before booking someone else if she really wasn't sure that we would continue our originally schedule date with her.

My daughter is a regular guest at Vann.Edge Salon and raves about her stylist Michael. While visiting her in Seattle I made an appointment to see Michael after butchering my bang (yes, I said bangs). Everyone was so courteous! It is so refreshing to see the art of customer service done well. Upon arriving for my appointment, the gentleman that checked me in was nice and offered something refreshing to drink. Michael greeted me with a smile and a hug, now that's the way to welcome your guest. The service I received was fantastic! A nice shampoo and jazzy cut; he even softened the butchered bangs, they're now "Feathered" :-). To go even further, Michael advised me of ways to keep my style looking fresh and offered to reach out to a partner salon near me in Texas to find someone to keep me in style until my next Seattle visit. Shanna, my stylist, was incredible. She didn't just give me a haircut; she transformed my hair, snipping away my dead ends and adding some much-needed volume. This salon is amazing and affordable. The customer service is outstanding, and my cut with Rose was perfect. I love that she took the time to actually look at my super curly hair before deciding how to approach it. The service also includes a scalp massage before and during the hair wash. Not only is the atmosphere and customer service on point, but the cut was great. I'm so excited to have a bad cut fixed, and I've finally found a salon in Seattle I love. It was truly a delightful experience, and I also love their structure. They walk you through the products they're using and leave you with a sheet in case you want to purchase later. Plus, it's a no-tip salon, so the standard $52 cut (after tax I think) is incredibly reasonable - especially for the level of personal attention you're getting. I've been a regular at VannEdge since before they were VannEdge (formally Milagros). This was back when I was a single girl and had plenty of extra time to spare at the spa. Fast forward a few years and I have two kids, like about 1.5 hours away and "free time" is something I had in my twenties. Fact: I make time for VannEdge. Specifically, I make time for Christopher who has been doing my hair for years because I have been so happy with the results. I also regularly receive unsolicited compliments from friends and strangers alike, so I know he is truly doing great work! He is that good - highly recommend! I feel I absolutely must give a shout-out to Oliver Villafuerte for his mad makeup and esthetics skills. We've utilized his talents for over a half a dozen photo-shoots. We've tried other makeup artists on other shoots, but after using Oliver, we can't go back. You'll know once you've had the Big 'O'. We've thrown dozens of skin-types, and every shade of skin tone available at him. and every time he nails it! What we found that particularly differentiates Oliver from the pack, is that he listens to the creative director, and photogs as they describe the theme, or 'feeling' that they are after, and delivers it with his art. Don't just ask him to replicate makeup from a photo you like, he can do it, but it would be a waste of his talents. I just had my second amazing hair cut experience by Christopher Archiopoli at Vann Edge. Christopher listens really well to all input (and I'm talking every hair issue I've had in the last year) and then gives feedback to come to a decision with options about what way to go. He starts with a head and shoulder massage and wants the experience to be all about you - whether you want to have a fun chat or just close your eyes. He's very knowledgeable about hair and the Aveda products they use to help work with your own hair and achieve the look you're going for. I really feel from beginning to end, Christopher is totally in tune with me and the proof is the super haircut result as well as how amazing the grow out is. This review is for Christopher Archiopoli at Vann Edge Salon. I've been a client there for over a year now and keep on on scheduling return visits. Christopher is an expert stylist who listens to what I want and delivers a great style with instructions about how to attain the same looks at home. His genial attitude and professionalism place his service above and beyond other stylists I've been to. Shortly after going to Christopher I moved further from the city to Bothell, but I still schedule appointments with him because I wouldn't want anyone else to style or cut my hair. Christopher A. at Vann Edge is an absolute artist. He took my hair from one of worst times it has been through (me subjecting it to awful box home jobs). It was dry, broken, and thin. Chris has cut my hair for many years now and the level of service and attention I receive each time I step into the salon is always top-notch. I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Ava at Vann Studio, and I couldn't be happier! She was incredibly patient and took the time to really listen as I described the look I was going for. After we chose a length, I changed my mind and decided to go shorter. I am on vacation and went into this Salon to get my bangs trimmed and have my hair styled. Tisha was the most personable and helpful stylist, especially for someone who is taking a chance on going to a salon I am not used to. They use Aveda products, a gentleman came by during my blow-dry and wrote down all the products Tisha was using on my hair and then later brought them all back in a basket, so I could choose any I liked and wanted to purchase. Sophia, Mariah and Lisa went above and beyond to accomplish a full hair transformation while making my daughter feel pampered and cared for. Her hair turned out beautiful- blue, silver and stunning! So looking for a stylist/hair salon already expecting to pay a lot, I spent two days really researching. Going to the salon itself, it's very nice. Everyone was friendly, smiling offering drinks like water, tea, and coffee. I'm an introvert so I'm closed off and shy and tend to observe until I am confident and comfortable. The salon was very inviting, it made it easy for me to approach. Pros: Lilly squeezed me into her schedule on short notice(: She seemed really into making sure she did a good job, talking me through what she was doing. Taking care not to fry my hair and informing me a few times that because of how dark my hair is, I would need to bleach my hair another few times to achieve the light color I would like... this I do know, but with sitting for 40-50 minutes, 15-20 mins under the hair dryer I had hoped for more of a lighter color. Cons: My hair looks chocolate brown. Not what I wanted. I've had my hair bleached before and had gotten a much lighter color close to a gold so the chocolate brown is disappointing me. When layering my hair I asked her if she could do a "V" in the back for my layered hair, I don't think she understood or heard me?... the layers I got aren't the layers I wanted, I expected more than just one layer?... though I also did not show her reference photos, so that's on me. Not her. The layers are a little more blunt than blended and I honestly feel like I may just need to see another hairstylist who can fix this for me... She did try and make conversation but her conversation was definitely close ended. Again, I'm quiet until I get comfortable but i definitely did not feel like she wanted to hold a conversation with me even though she made many attempts. I believe the words "she tried" sums up my experience... I paid $250 for this result.... I'm just let down.

She has color DIALED IN - I always get compliments! And she gives me a hairstyle that goes with my lifestyle, which is to say she makes me look good without it taking me a lot of time. The salon itself is adorable. Parking is only on the street, so it can be a little tough sometimes, but it's totally worth it. Hillary is totally worth it.

As far as this service, it is so worth it and feels luxurious. Especially if you are new to curly hair, don't know how to style it, or have never had a curly cut before (this was my first one). You start with cutting your hair (dry of course), then washing, treatment, wet styling, diffusing, and then additional cutting as needed once it's dry and styled and you can see how everything lays. It was so relaxing to sit under the bowl diffuser (they give you free beverages too), and she walks you through exactly how she's wet styling your hair as you go. She did a great job and I highly recommend!

Beverages are offered and they use great products. However my second visit was just a few days ago with Sarah. What I asked for I got the complete opposite. She gave me a blow out so my hair looked beautiful leaving but the next day washing it seeing my natural waves and curls and really inspecting the cut. I look a bit chopped. The front was not face framing instead she gave me 4 steps. The front is uneven and choppy as heck. My hair is gone so no way to fix that and wouldn't trust her to fix it tbh so I have to take an expensive loss. I cried all night yesterday just looking at the front pieces. Just embarrassing. I paid a lot and tipped very well just for it to look like an amateur cut my hair. Don't come here. I regret coming here as I looked better with my dead ends. I could've cut my own hair better which I have. This was supposed to be a pick me up to make me feel beautiful now 2 days later I am in regret not feeling like how I should and wanted. Sooooo expensive and terrible results. Also they could've been friendlier. I felt she got tired blow drying my hair. They are supposed to be knowledgeable in long, thick hair, curly hair, wavy hair. I wanted to choose this stylist due to her good reviews but I really cannot recommend her or this salon. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I am distraught. Don't come here as you will cry tears of sadness not joy.

I was told my balance was only 85 and I checked my bank for the transaction and they pulled out 102 dollars don't understand where that extra money was pulled for. Noah & Kelly don't know how to treat customers with respect, don't listen patiently to customer complaints before saying/ imposing their own views/opinions & don't even apologize after being extremely disrespectful. FULL APPOINTMENT: Noah is one of the most RUDE hairstylist & humans I encountered. With inadequate etiquette in talking/listening. Very impatient in listening, argumentative, stepped over my shoes, suppressed & cut my points off multiple times, when I tried to explain how I wanted my balayage. Not welcoming or friendly. He was being condescending & disrespectful to my own views/ideas. Unbelievable! If you will need a couple minutes or more to elaborate your ideas, he wouldn't just listen till the end, PERIOD. For lack of patience & respect, he interrupted my points, loudly imposing his own opinions in a bossy & rude tone. RAISED VOICE & FRUSTRATION ON ME MULTIPLE TIMES. While feeling suppressed due to this kind of conversation, I was shocked at one moment when I was simply expressing my thought, & he suddenly cut me & angrily SHOUTED "you're not listening to me". Look at his Audacity. I don't visit a hair salon to listen to a loud barber. Finally, after he shouted on me in this bossy tone, my limit was over, & I indicated to him that he is being disrespectful, so I won't book him again, then he became extremely angry & behaved in a completely unacceptable/shocking way. He quickly lost his temper, angrily pushed the color tray away in front of me & left while the chemical was still in my hair, behaved in this hostile manner (which I haven't ever seen before in such business) Owner Kelly came but denied Noah's mistake & didn't apologize at all, when I asked. She favored Noah & didn't even ask him to apologize. I asked her 2-3 times to accept mistreatment from their side & apologize, she ignored & disrespectfully said "you should just stop talking now". And had the audacity to ask me to get out of salon. My hair was still dripping wet & water falling everywhere. I told her that I will dry my hair with towel (which was their responsibility but denied to do) & I will leave when water will not be dripping all over my clothes. Noah came back, manhandled my personal property(bag) without my permission & then as I was just leaving, he physically assaulted me- forcefully touched & pushed me 6-7 times with his hands towards the door, (even after strictly warning him multiple times to not touch me). KELLY FAVORED THIS ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR FROM NOAH. Please a request to all women, stay safe and beware of Noah, he was very aggressive, got easily frustrated, doesn't know his boundary & physically assaulted me at the salon. He quickly lost his temper and threw the color tray away in front of me, behaved in this shocking and unacceptable manner after being told that he is not listening properly (which i haven't ever seen before in any business). For lack of my better judgment, I realized this behavior only in my 2nd appointment (although his behavior was rude & did improper hair color (for lack of listening) even in 1st, but he told me it was a misunderstanding, so I gave him a benefit of doubt & a 2nd chance in hope for good. Dear people, please beware, the owner favored and accepted this kind of unacceptable behavior too and didn't even ask him to apologize after I told and asked the owner as well as Noah to be respectful and apologize. We all are entitled to ask for our own 'right to respect'. No one has the right in our good society to treat anyone this way. If you behave/treat people improperly, your license needs to be banned.
