Windows did not have full trim, needed to be fixed. Windows didn't close smoothly, needed to be adjusted. My house has 50 windows and most of them needed after installation service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service calls take a long time to schedule.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On the plus side, service techs know what to do and they make it right. But the work on each window took hours and techs typically left without adjusting all the windows with issues. The end result seems solid, but I would recommend a company that gets it right the first time. There is an inherent challenge between the window company and the installer. We were forced to use this company as Milgard no longer uses the glass we needed to match for a window. The window took a fair amount of time to get and when the company we hired ( who hired Value to make the window ) installed the window, we noticed the bamboo glass was upside down. After so much back and forth over several months now... I'm told they can't source the replacement part and I should hire a handyman to fix the door. I've called around and every contractor said it's a specialized part and nothing they've seen before. Having explained this to Value, I was told nothing can be done because the supplier is no longer in business. Based on a contractor's recommendation, I asked for the following information: SUPPLIER's *last known information* (name, address, phone, email, etc.), the MANUFACTURER's information, the PRODUCT's information (product sheet, specs sheet, parts sheet, etc.), and COMPARABLE PRODUCT's information. I was informed they don't have access to this information because the supplier is not available. Which means they had the supplier's info in order to verify the supplier being out of business. They had the product and part info to verify it can't be secured elsewhere. After spending thousands of dollars on a set of doors, we're faced with an impossible situation with zero transparency and information. It's clear they're withholding information and leaving us to deal with a broken door on our own. It'll cost thousands to replace the broken doors with a new set. It'll cost thousands to even find a modification for the hinges that would make it a function properly again. Lose, lose situation. Absolutely regrettable. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place unless several sets of replacement parts are included for free! read more

The technician measured the window wrong and caused a delay for another month. A simple, small window i had to wait at the end of other customers' orders. They simply put an ugly board to cover the window that they made the mistake on, which caused the entire inconvenience for one month. The manager Jay's attitude was unprofessional and rude. So I've had weatherstrip failing on a sliding glass door and a regular glass door and have called three times for them to repair. I even had the company who installed all the windows and doors on a three way call to streamline the communication. About a year ago, I had a window leak that caused damage to the sheet rock and gave up on getting them to stand behind their warranty and paid out of pocket to repair the window, sheetrock, and paint. Jaime gave me a direct number for him and it always goes to voicemail. Steer clear of these guys as they DO NOT HONOR their warranty and are impossible to get on the phone past the lady who answer the phone, only to transfer you to a service department that doesn't answer. I requested service from Value Windows for my old leaking windows which were installed falsely a few years ago by an independent contractor. When I called the comapny they asked me to send an email to their service department with photos of the issue for review. A couple month later, Value sent a couple technician to my place in Orange county. They investigated the issue and came back about a month later with their supervisor. Again spent hours at my place investigating and discussing a few solutions. However, in the end they came to the conclusion that the windows were ordered and installed improperly in the first place and need to be replaced. They assured me that they will take care of the issue with no cost for me. This is a great example of how sometimes making a mistake can turn into an amazing purchase and overall customer experience. Years ago I had worked through a general contractor to buy two vinyl windows to replace two old ones in my daughters' bedroom. We really liked those windows, so when time came to consider replacing other ones, I thought the ones we had were Millard, so I reached out to a local reseller who quoted me an astronomical price only for the windows (10k$). Also, they said, the ones I have (the most recent ones) were NOT Millard, but Value Windows. I looked into this brand and sent a random email to the general inquiry address with very little hope. The morning after Jay, their sales rep, reached out, and we started a dialog. The dialog quickly evolved into a first draft quote, then Jay came by, looked at the work, we discussed some options for some of the windows due to specific needs (eg UV filtering, opaque glasses), adjusted the offer and locked on a deal on the same day. In 2 weeks my windows were ready and it took me only one text with Jay to coordinate and schedule the delivery which happened on time. Also, Jay recommended me a specific installer to work with (ALSO an amazing experience, very clean thorough and great people all around), and suggested me NOT to work with his installers as they do not do more complicated retrofit jobs (which is what I needed), and I appreciated that he opted to make less money himself to allow us to have a better final product. Went through a full home remodel around five years ago and my contractor recommended Value windows. Never heard of the company but he used them for many of his projects. Windows and sliding doors work great, and contrary to some of the other reviews, color has been consistent through the years as well. On one of the larger dual panes windows, I had something called spontaneous breakage occur (window basically just shattered). It is not common, but can happen (and not necessarily just tied to this manufacturer). Having contacted Value directly, was thinking that this could be covered under warranty due to it not being caused by me. Unfortunately, they said that it wouldn't be covered and offered me a quote to get it replaced. Reluctantly said yes and was waiting which took a while. I was beginning to wonder why it was taking so long when they finally got back to me to say that they were working with management to see if they can replace it free of charge - whoa! I'm so appreciative of this company for going above and beyond. Again, based on the other yelper reviews, it looks like hit or miss, but wanted to leave my review for the positive experience I had. Recently I had two of the windows with their balancer coils broken. I reached out to the company for the parts. They provided the repair service (non-trivial, took about an hour to replace the three coils) under their product warranty charging me a nominal fee for sending a technician to my home for the parts and services. The technician was professional and efficient. Value window put the door handle ( latch ) in the wrong side.. and the door can't close properly . I called Value & Door to correct the mistake., but they do not take care my problem right away.. The employe who work there just passing around the responsible to different dept. And I am a customer who stucked n the middle and do not know what to do.. and they told me they investigate the problem and will get back to me.., but no one to contact me , and they can't resolve the ptoblem, and I can't lock my door.. my wife feel unsecure because the door csn't clise properly and can not lock The value door hade made me so upset, I paid for the the door and serbice.., but they made mistake but they do not correct the problem.. Value Windows and Doors installed 2 sliding doors for us, 3 pane with a a great isolation temperature coefficient and the price was amazing! The process was easy: we went to the showroom / factory close to the 210 and 605 intersection, gave them the measurements, and they gave us the price immediately. Paid half when putting the order and the other half when the doors were installed. Now, with the new sliding doors, the high temperatures in summer don't affect much the interior of the house and the AC doesn't have to run as much. I would buy more doors or windows from Value Windows and Doors if I need more in the future. read more

The project replaced all my windows and sliding doors and it took place back in 2012. The transaction was smooth and painless. Annie was pleasant to work with and crews showed up on time on installation day. I was nervous about the installation, but everything went smoothly! Fast forward to a month ago. I was planning to upgrade my kitchen. Initially, I didn't have key locks on my sliding glass door because there's no need for it. Now, I need to have another access point and I contacted them. Barry found key lock for me and didn't charge me for it. Then, somehow, the door lock mechanism (not the key lock) was having issue and I contacted their support. Again, Barry came through for me. He found a replacement lock and shipped it to me without any charge! This is what I call great service! Their price was reasonable, process was painless, and post-purchase service was great. Once they suck you in and you pay thousands of dollars for their mediocre windows, which they can't even install correctly, they leave you hanging out to dry. I called them to get the brand new screen door for the patio sliding door that they installed shabbily, because it didn't slide and was getting stuck. It finally popped out of its track. They scheduled me for 1-3pm to come out and repair, their shabby work. I was there the whole day waiting for these idiot technicians who arrived at the last minute at 2:55pm and called me. I was working inside and didn't look at my phone until "15" minutes later!! These idiots took off after only 15 minutes, while they made me wait two hours between 1-3pm. Wow, is this how they run their shabby business??!! No, thank you!! I do not recommend this business to anyone!!! There are other legitimate businesses way better than this one. He is the only one who measured different pionts and get the closest dimensions. I know that is from his long time rich experiences. Aluminum seems popular on the coasts, but not here in middle America. These windows seemed to be reasonably priced, and looked good online, so we took a chance. My contractor and I were impressed by the quality, and the price is really tough to beat--especially for all aluminum frames. Excellent quality/price combination. We're remodeling our house and went in today for upgrades on our screen door/tracks and screen frames. Bryan W. was the person who helped us at the plant and he did absolute everything to make sure we got the model and size we needed. He spoke English and Mandarin so my dad was able to tell him all the features he had in mind. We also have their windows at home and it still looks great after all these years. DEATH TRAP!! I am writing about the product only. The people who did the installation were excellent. I have 3040 GS casement windows in new construction. They are 20 feet above the ground. Naturally, I would prefer to have windows that you can clean from the inside. Finding nothing about cleaning on their website, I asked my contractor who showed me how to unhook the bottom mechanism for cleaning but did not show the top. Not good enough. Later, I inspected the top and found the same pop-out capability that would allow you to move the sash sideways enough to reach out and clean the outside of the window pane. My wife was with me as she wished to see whether she could clean this casement window. I popped the top and bottom mechanisms. So far, so good. To show how much space was available to reach through, I began to move the sash away from the frame. THE SASH POPPED OUT OF THE FRAME!! I am now holding onto the heavy sash while leaning out of a window 20 feet above the ground. There's no way that I could get it back in. I tried and tried. Tiring, I urged my wife to summon help. Fortunately, the workers building the house were on break a short distance away. One came running. He quickly determined that more help was necessary and called for a second worker. Between them, they eventually put the window right. What if it had been the weekend? What if I had lost my balance and fallen 20 feet along with the window? What if my wife had attempted this cleaning after we moved in when I wasn't there? What if someone was under the window when it fell out in the future? What if my 82-year-old wife had tried to hold onto the window, lost her balance, and had fallen along with the window? SHE WOULD BE DEAD!! My contractor ensured me that these windows could be washed from inside. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME! Do not buy these windows unless you can reach them from outside for cleaning. Given this FATAL FAILING, how can I be certain that these windows do not have other engineering defects? The awning windows open readily for cleaning but require a brace to hold them open while you clean them. If you put a block of wood above the top edge to hold it open, you could knock it out and have your arm crushed as the window closes of its own weight. Beware! The sliding windows allow you to lift the sliding pane out and reach around the fixed pane to clean them if your arm is long enough. Check before buying. read more
