I specially looked for door repair as I wanted to have 3 doors close shut. The doors were rubbing and two could not be closed. Bui was the one I had in mind but he replied he was booked up til August so he referred me to his trainee Alex. Alex communicated well to set up a schedule to come over after I purchased the products from Amazon: solar lights, video doorbell and bird spikes. He came promptly , reviewed the tasks and entered the information on his tablet. He first task was a bit of a challenge as I did not get the right parts for the old closet door. But he made the adjustments to stop it from brushing against the floor. Afterwards he moved on to replace the other closet door. Addressing the door closure issue, he adjusted a hinge and did filing of the doors until they were able to close. I have yet to get accustomed to them closing as I was not able to do that for so long. The two solar lights he put up on my roof are now keeping my yard light up at night. On the video doorbell he was able to connect it to my door chime but he would need to have it wedge mounted for a better view. The Chamberlain doorbell is a new model so there are no wedge mounts for it right now. We discussed how to tackle putting a metal mesh cover over the security camera to stop the birds from nesting over it. But this task has not been started yet. I think Alex is very proficient in his handyman tasks; he is patient and task oriented, he wants to do a good job in each task. He has the demeanor for a handyman who is always willing to take on different facets of repairs in a household. Thank you Bui for your referral. read more

Highly recommend Will and his services. He is very responsive and was easy to coordinate with. He installed a vanity mirror for us and took the time to ensure everything was centered and squared. It's evident he takes a lot of pride in his work! read more

10 stars~ honest efficient professional. Thank you Will for taking care of everything we needed to fix.

We had Will come out to set up lights in our side courtyard, and he did an amazing job! Multiple handymen had come by before, but Will was one of the few who came up with a creative and safe solution to hang our lights. Not only that, but he did it at a great, reasonable price. We're so happy with how everything turned out and will definitely be calling him again for future projects! read more

We couldn't be happier with his service. He was very knowledgeable, responsive, and professional from the start of our first communication, even when he was not available to take on the job. Out of everyone we had used in the past, he was the only one who could foresee problems and gave us useful advices. We really appreciated it! read more

Have been looking for a handyman in the area for months. I called Mr. Bui and requested for a return call back. Without any expectation (I never had a handyman who would call me back), Mr. Bui called me back. He is very friendly, and willing to listen to the job I offered. He did not see my job as too small of a job, and scheduled me within a day. I really appreciate that he follow through and being responsive, which was very different than other handyman services I came across. He was super professional, and able to get the job done. Price was very reasonable! Will continue to support local business. read more

I needed my daughter's restroom vanity replaced and some light plumbing upgraded. After texting with Will I knew he was the guy we wanted to hire. He did a great job on the installation and the vanity we bought needed to be modified in order for the existing plumbing to work and Will made the custom cut needed on the vanity to accommodate the plumbing. All and all the install looked great and what a professional experience this was. I would recommend him to all my friends and family anytime. read more

Will is always my go to guy for any handyman work, he's so knowledgeable he seems to know everything and can fix anything. He always has a tight and busy schedule, but he'll kindly manage to arrange some time to help with my projects. Many people pick the "big jobs" but Will would also patiently repair the small things for us. He is so honest and reliable, gives very fair quotes, would even remind you things like something may be cheaper on one platform than at a store. He is very personable it's a pleasure to work with him. I would strongly recommend him to anyone in need, and will stay in touch for future projects. read more

Will was super responsive, asked for a good amount of information and even tried to guide me thru my fix-it project. Unfortunately I didn't have the capacity nor the experience, but he totally fixed my shower faucet and valve and managed to save me some money wherever possible. I would highly recommend him for any jobs you may need fixing. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks again! read more

Absolutely wonderful experience! My husband had almost completed a remodeling project and didn't look forward to installing the door lock and final pieces. Will was a wonderful asset - is thorough, made welcomed suggestions and we look forward to many more projects in the future. read more

Hired Will again to install vinyl flooring with new baseboards in my kitchen after he advised me of which material to use [over laminate] as well as where to source from (a vendor out in El Monte). He was very meticulously in his installation and was very transparent with addressing challenging areas and asked for my consent to move forward with proposed remediations. read more

William is the best! So happy to have found him and couldn't recommend him enough. I had a stubborn towel bar that was being attached to the drywall in my bathroom for the third time. Having tried two other handyman services found here on yelp that did the job but the towel bar didn't stay. William came in prepared and did the job the right way. He even saw my smart lock was loose and helped make that right too. What distinguishes William from the rest is that he actually cares about doing the properly and correctly the first time. Please don't take up too much of his schedule yelpers!! read more

Had waited for this one highly rated handyman to finish work with one client before starting on my projects, then was told he underestimated and would raised his quotes 20% higher because would be sending his crew instead of himself. I called Will, who was actually my first choice but scheduling at that time was a couple weeks later. His quote came very close to the other handyman without his 20% increase. Will was TERRIFIC! He solved a potential "big headache" project getting my bi-fold door to close in front of our new stacked washer/dryer without building out the doorframe by relocating protruding plugs further up on the rear wall and opening up the rear wall to allow the ducts fitting inside allowing the bi-fold door be placed back on its track. Singly moving and repositioning the heavy stacked washer/dryer was not an easy feat. Will was kind, courteous and took on several of our small projects with a great attitude and was accepting of a couple more added small tasks. He works very neatly and cleans up. We ended up voluntarily paying Will a bit more. Will DEFINITELY be calling on Will again for help around the house. It must have been karma for us using Will instead of the other handyman. The other handyman would have changed the structure of our laundryroom doorframe to get the bi-fold door to fit over the new stacked washer/dryer. read more

Used Will for a bunch of small to medium projects around the house. He is very efficient and professional. All the jobs were done with precision and cleanliness. Things Will worked on. Install Garbage Disposal. Install new rails for drawers. Install new screen door. Recaulk all bathrooms and kitchen. Demolition of garage platform and tiling stairs. All were done to my satisfaction and would highly recommend and use him again. read more

I had contacted Will do a couple of projects at 2 properties and have been very happy with his service and the results. I had him change out some recessed lighting that required some electrical rewiring, caulking for the shower, install some floating shelves, and put up a sun sail in my backyard. He's been great at sending me progress photos the times I have not been able to be there in person. He is fair with his pricing and really takes his time to explain things. Highly recommend him - he will be the first person I call if I ever have any handy work done. read more

I needed some help with some caulking and water damage for my shower and found Build it Bui Handyman and saw that he was near by so I'd give it a try. I was easily able to schedule with Will and when he first came he was wearing a mask for safety and he was able to quickly assess the situation and give me advice on ordering a shower guard and we were able to schedule a follow up appt to finish the caulking. The job was done well and what I really appreciate is that he came back after finishing another similar job in my community and addressed some work that he did some additional research on to make sure the job was done right! This was done free of charge! Thanks Build it Bui! I will be recommending you to the rest of my community! read more

Will does everything! Fixed the light switches, Setup ceiling shelves and replace door chimer. I highly recommend!

I called a few places to install a portable A/C unit and Will had the BEST pricing by far. He was quick, but thorough. He also helped me move my TV down two flights of stairs. Super friendly and nice! If I need anything else around the house done again, I'll definitely be calling him. Recommend 1000%. Thank you!! read more

My wife contacted a bunch of folks to see about replacing our chandelier in a dining room with a ceiling fan. After looking at the various quotes we chose Build It Bui Handyman, reasons were his proximity to us, quickness of response, and being a true local small biz...and we're really happy we did! Quick and easy communication. He arrived prompt on the day we scheduled and the work was done cleanly and timely with a more than fair price. We have some other remodeling/upgrade projects we'd like to do in the future and definitely plan to utilize Will for much of it. Highly recommend him for any home improvement work and minor contracting jobs. read more

Will was easy to get a hold of and if he couldn't answer the phone he was able to call back by that day. He is so busy (they all are these days) but was able to schedule me in a couple weeks and actually arrived (so many have flaked on me) and on time to do our agreed upon projects. I was super happy with his work and he was an expert at multiple things, dry wall, tile, electricity, mirror hanging, and even put up a couple of outdoor lights for me. He also provided me an education in how to do these things myself in the future, not sure if i'm ready for that but highly appreciated. I even asked him to do something he has never done before and did it better than i expected or could have done myself, 5 stars!! Can I give 6?! He has even promised to give me some time to look at my parents home, will definitely use again! Professional, efficient, quality and Reliable!! read more

It all started when a handyman who i had booked called me at the last minute to cancel after I waited for 3 weeks. I then spent my morning calling around for someone to do the project I had planned. Will is so pleasant and professional and he came to the rescue. It was an absolute delight working with Will. If he hadn't helped me it would have led to a lot of inconvenience for me . Thank you Will for saving the day. Your fine work is greatly appreciated. read more

Came on time and did a great job. Very professional and responsive. Will definitely use his services again!

Will did an excellent job installing the ducting for my range hood to vent the exhaust outside instead of having it recirculate inside. He was responsive, prepared, thorough, and clean - everything you expect from a professional. Like many handymen, sourcing, vetting, and selecting one all occurs online via platforms like Yelp and Will is organized and responsive. After sending pictures and details like my range hood's model number, Will collated the information for an estimate and he prepared his work plan. He asked thoughtful follow-up questions (over text) and shared his plan with me the day before to confirm his approach. I greatly appreciated this level of communication and gave me a high level of confidence going into the project. Will showed up on-time and prepared with the required materials and then some. Several extra feet of 6" solid pipe, an extra roof vent, and most importantly, no duct tape for the ducting (ha), but foil tape. He laid out a tarp to collect the debris and was careful around appliances and cabinetry. Rarely do jobs end up being as straight forward in an older home than in a newer home and mine was no exception. Existing ducting in the way, a stud, several layers of cabinetry, etc. all added challenges to the prepared plan and extra work. Will worked through it all and the result was a perfectly function range hood blowing outside. At the end, Will thoroughly cleaned the workspace including the floors and tested the setup. Send your handyman project to Will with confidence that he'll complete the work with great care as if it were for his own home! read more

Will is our guy now. He has done two different jobs for us and both times he came as soon as he could and did a great job for a reasonable price. He is a nice person and I believe he cares about doing things right. Thanks Will! read more

I spoke to William and inquired about services and pricing with him. Even though he is booked till September and he does not service my area anymore, he was still the most helpful and pleasant person I've spoken to on yelp while looking for a handyman. He even referred me to another handyman possible to take care of my requests. Now that's how all should be interacting and helping one another. There's a lot of that lacking that we all can contribute to. Would have given him a 5 due to his nice demeanor, but can't since he's not able to help me out himself. read more
