Appreciated the quick response to an urgent problem. Joe took a look at the issue with my door and knew exactly what to do to fix it. Came in to paint walls in an office. Ended up being a bigger job than originally thought due to the paint having a coating that made the new paint peel off. He came up with a great solution and was able paint the wall perfectly. Highly recommend Joe! read more

I bought a pergola kit from Amazon. Handy Joe and Akos came right over after giving me a quote. I love that he was just straight to the point when I asked for a quote on Yelp. I hired them because he gave an immediate quote and didn't want to come over first and then quote. They were priced fairly. Both guys worked hard, and I mean hard to build that pergola. They were great but the actual pergola kit itself was terrible quality. They did the very best they could and were up front and honest about the process along the way. No doubt that if the actual Amazon product had been of better quality, they would have had no issues. They are very skilled. After building, they cleaned up and left my yard tidy again and they gave me helpful suggestions on how to better the pergola. I will not hesitate to call Handy Joe again. Honest, polite, prompt, fair, and skilled. read more

It is time for my front porch to get new paint! After vetting a couple of painters, I decided to have Joe to help. He is very professional, explaining about the process and he completed the work in 4 days. He filled up some of the wear and tear with some plaster and it looks smooth again. The porch looks like new when the job was completed. Meanwhile I also have smaller jobs which I also asked Joe to do - a light fixture which was very tricky to put up, as well as to put a tarp against the exterior wall as we are dealing with some water leaking issues. For both times, Joe handled it very well and found solutions quickly. I am very impress with his service and I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation. read more

Gave address for my condo complex. In the same text I said entrance on dayton ave. Goes into the wrong building and then proceeds to blame me for giving bad instructions. He said he went into the first garage in Dayton Ave... there are 3-4 garage entrances on the small street. I explained that I never said to go into any random building. Since i gave the address it should be implied that he should enter the building and garage associated with that address. Apparently this was enough to make him aggressive and condescending via text. I did not follow through on the repairs since he seems aggressive / angry / unstable. I can't comment on the work he does. He might actually do good work but I didn't want to risk it. read more

I requested service for this job a few months ago and left Joe hanging since work got really crazy but to my surprise, Joe was still willing to help me out. I had pushed my closer doors too hard that the doors fell off the tracks and the pieces holding them in place broke at the same time. Joe helped put the doors back on the track and recommended that I added a few more wheels to the doors since they're so old and heavy. He even offered to buy the pieces for me to install them the next time. A+ service and he was extremely quick! Would recommend! read more

Joe is a friendly, knowledgeable professional. I needed two rooms to be painted. As soon as I messaged some contractors on yelp, he was the first to quickly respond. He also asked if he could come out to my home, same day, to provide a free estimate. His pricing was not only beyond fair and reasonable for both sides, his pricing was below other estimates I received. Once he started working, he did not waste time. In fact, he worked right through lunch. So my wife and I went to check on him and had to ask him to take a lunch break. He was also able to work around some furniture we were unable to move out of the room. And, he removed our air vents, light switches and electrical plug covers, smoke detectors, and did some patch-up work. My wife was very happy with the quality of his work. I will definitely call him back for any future jobs I might needed. read more

Joe, a responsive business owner. He was so quick to offer a quote and by far the most reasonable to pick up a couch. I just needed a couch moved and not an actual apartment. Everyone else quoted me over $400... for a couch. He didn't try to take advantage and was quick, efficient, and professional. He and his plus 1 were willing to go above and beyond to make sure all was great. Thank you so much Joe!! P.S. check out his other reviews. He is a HANDY man. read more
