I had been doing business with this nail spa since late July 2020. I had a professional, memorable and very friendly experience my first 3 visits. My fourth visit unfortunately I can not say was the same. I walked in to relieve stress I had through out the week due to being a single mother and feeling overwhelmed I general w my obligations and really was looking forward to pampering self for sake of self care.
When I walked in w out an appointment I was greeted cordially and asked what I wanted done. As I explained what I wanted I was then recognized and asked about my daughter who had come with me and who I was pregnant with the first time I ever visited so it felt warm and familiar which also allowed me to feel welcome.
After explaining what I wanted for my nails to the nail tech joann she said she could do it for me. Then the lady attending to my pedicure Lin asked me to sit and asked what pedicure I wanted. She complimented me on my heels and said that I would look more pretty w gel nail polish. I asked them why do you guys sell any other polish if only gel will look pretty? She had a retort later and continued about 4 different times to get me to get gel. I don't feel I should have had to even explain myself but I explained I was a single mom and I wanted to stick to my budget. That didn't stop or curb the pressure to continue to ask me to get gel nail polish on my toe nail...it continued with her asking me if I wanted to get a design on my toe as well.
I stated fine out of pure frustration, I had been worn down by her haggling/harassment. Once she finished the design asked me if I liked it and honestly it was horrible I couldn't even tell what it was so I asked her, what is it supposed to be. She again asked you don't like? I responded It's not that I don't like it, I just can't tell what it is I'm looking at to like it...so she mumbled something in her language to a co worker and then took it off and re painted my toes. As my toes were being painted, the woman who completed my full set was down the hall attending to other patrons and she begin asking by hollering at me from down the hall if I also wanted to do a parafin wax? I responded not this time. She again kept asking, pressuring and harassing just like the woman attending to my pedicure. I finally just waved her off and turned from facing in her direction. Would you believe she comes down the hall over to me w a parafin bag about to put my hand in, I looked her dead in the eyes, moved my hand and said I don't want this no. She huffed away quickly taking her bag w her and I begin crying.
All I wanted to do was pay and get out of that nail shop as quickly as possible. She finished my toenails and comes to my side, calculates everything then hands me the receipt, the bill was 118.00 and I planned to spend 80 and tip them. I tip very well especially when I enjoy a service and the people providing the service are friendly and kind. But that day? I put a fat double zero where it said tip. As I signed, she asked if I was going to add a tip. I was IN TEARS at this point yall!!! I said no, I'm not because from the moment I walked in you and your other team member have harassed and badgered me about services I declined politely, you guys have made me feel so bad I just want to leave. I waited on my change and ran out almost tripping and absolutely scratched the not yet finished drying polish on my toe.
I haven't been back sense, I'm grateful that I have forgotten them. I am not looking back. Avoid avoid avoid! read more
