I live about 45 minutes away from this place. I get there about once a month. Until recently it was always terrific. I sent some friend there and when I asked them how they liked it they said they didn't. They were disappointed with the food. I had told them that they had to try the Amish bacon. They told me it was like three strips of fat. I told them to try the country fried steak. My friend said he couldn't even finish it because it was too salty. I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I went there the next Saturday. I couldn't believe it! My country fried steak was terrible and the Amish bacon was very fatty. This was the first time I couldn't eat the food. I went back another time and again I was disappointed. Don't know what's going on there. I loved this place, but I'm going to take a break. Great service, though not all the food is prepared the "traditional" way. I got the eggs benedict which was fantastic! lots of food for a good price. They serve breakfast all day, which is great. My friend got the corned beef hash which had larger pieces of fatty corned beef, so they traded it for a regular eggs and bacon sort of dish. Again, great service. everyone is very nice and really wants you to enjoy what you order. I am really somewhere close to 4 stars, but not quite. This is our family's choice for breakfast and brunch! We love coming here - the food is so great and the servers are always wonderful! I recommend the pancakes! These may be the largest pancakes I've ever seen - size of a dinner plate! I usually get one because they're just so enormous. But they are fluffy, rich, and delicious. The first thing I noticed was that the tables were all full, a good sign! I overheard a waitress saying "I'm glad to see you're recovered from your surgery" to a guest. It was a bright, welcoming atmosphere. Staff is friendly, artwork is a little quirky. Busy, but quick service. We had a table if 3 and all of our food was great! read more

This is indeed as good as it gets. A friend who used to live in Wadsworth always raved about this place and it lived up to all of her compliments. It was pretty busy in there and we had to wait for about 30 minutes. Once we were seated, we had super quick service with a very friendly server. The kids both ordered french toast, my husband ordered off the lunch menu and I had a breakfast bowl. All of it was universally delicious and all four plates were entirely cleaned. All of us kept saying, OMG, this is just so good. We have absolutely no reason to ever go to Wadsworth, but we are trying to find some, just so we can go back to the Valley Cafe. Fabulous! We went to Valley city cafe in Wadsworth for the 2nd time yesterday.The first time was great! Yesterday, not so much!I We were there at 2pm[still serving breakfast]at 2:25 we were sitting with half of our order getting cold.Our homefries were sent out ,cool[nearly cold]at 2pm,VERY greasy and BURNT to a crisp!I ordered an omelet which I prefer to eat w/homefries.I didn't think it would be long,so my husband and I nibbles at our side orders.25 MINUTES LATER.My omelet was cold,my toast was cold and still no homefries.When I asked,the server quickly went back and got them.They were soooo greasy still and sooo over seasoned,we could barely stand to eat them.We asked for our check.The server was kind enough to take the coffe/soda off our bill,for the trouble..However,we won't be going back!None of this was our waitress fault!She was on the spot anytime we needed her,even brought refills when I didn't ask.She was working her but off!This rating has nothing to do with her.If you decide to take a chance and go here.Ask for Brandy and if you don't like seasoning and grease in your home fries,be sure and tell them. read more

Valley Cafe is a standard American Diner. The atmosphere is great and welcoming, staff is friendly and seem to be happy about serving awesome food. The pancakes are huge and a must have. Nice place for Breakfast or Lunch, everything I've tried on the menu is good. We've probably dined here a dozen times for both Breakfast and Lunch and have always enjoyed every item we've tried. Not that great for the meal we got last week. Burger was just meh' and the grilled cheese was pretty bland tasting. Sidewinder fries were probably the best part but you know....they're fries. We chose to do pick up. With the expensive price, tip, driving to do pick up and underwhelming taste we were left feeling we probably won't do that again. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. Food is comfort, and a bit over priced. Our server did not offer to tell us the specials of the day, left our order sitting on the counter while he had conversation with another guest, dropped it off and continued the conversation. He didn't inquire if we needed more water or anything else. I had to ask another server for a hot sauce. He did not speak to us again until he dropped off the check. The table for two we were given near the back of the establishment was horrible. Every time someone entered or exited the back door we had to endure a cold blast of air that ruined the entire experience. It is beyond me why anyone would be seated there. My omelette was good, but that's the least I would have expected. The gyro that my wife ordered contained onions that were so strong they were not edible. I know because I tried, and I really like onions. Not a good lunch experience. read more

Coffee is $2.99. WOW! And we had to wave the waiter over to get a refill. Glad only one of us paid extra for the home fries--they were very greasy and seemed as if they had been sitting on the grill for a long time (we were there at around 10:30 a.m. on a weekday). The omelets were large and they were fine but didn't seem to have a lot of the toppings you choose for the money. Sausage gravy was mentioned to be spicy by the server. It was beyond spicy! I eat hot wings regularly and it was hotter than most of the mid range spice. The server swiped my card on another guests check which was $50+ and then voided the charge. I get that you apologize but it still holds the funds until the bank releases them on a business day. Servers need to be trained better when handling guest checks! If it were a customer that didn't have a ton of money in their account you could have bounced a few items by freezing that portion of the cash. All in all given the experience I was happy until they messed up the billing, for that reason and that alone I will not return for a while. read more

Had high expectations for this place due to the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. I ordered the country fried steak and scrambled eggs with rye toast, my wife had the same except wheat toast and over medium eggs, my daughter had 2 eggs, (over medium) bacon, home fries with white toast. First they brought out the orders and everyone's food was on the wrong plate, mixed up orders i guess. So the waitress quickly took the orders back to make right, brought out again and toast was on the wrong plate, not off to a great start. As we were all hungry we switched the toast and proceeded to dig in. I picked my eggs up with my fork and they stretched out like an omelet cut in two and slightly burnt. They were not scrambled so the waitress brings me out a plate of about half the portion of what i had on a separate plate, still not good. They were cold and just a cut up version of what i had on the plate before, just less. Next my wife and i took a bite of the country fried steak, the gravy was so salty that you couldn't even eat it. I am not nitpicking either, my wife loves salty, and this was just too much, it would be hard to imagine this was done purposely by the cook. Lastly the over medium eggs were snotty and cold, far from over medium, this was true for both my daughters and wife's eggs. The potatoes would have been great, i liked the seasoning but they weren't cooked through, hard almost raw and cold. The bacon on my daughters plate which was near raw when it first came out had a good taste when it was cooked. All in all i believe that the high prices don't justify the level of food that they think they are capable of. We really weren't able to eat because of all the problems but instead of giving us a full refund, they still charged us for the drinks. Sad, was hoping the food matched the ambiance and friendliness. Don't come here unless you want to spend alot for low quality, total waste of time and money. read more

One of the best places in town for breakfast or dinner. Customer service is out of this world even when they are over the top busy.

I saw this restaurant on New Day Cleveland and expected it to be better than average but it was not. Also they do not have kid menus forcing to order individual sides. We ordered omelettes which do not come with potatoes like most places. We ordered a side of potatoes which are homemade but not cooked with onions that I could see so they are very dry that I needed ketchup. The omelettes were not anything special and I really didn't care for mine. A breakfast for two and a 3 year old and infant was $33. A little too pricey for a so so breakfast. I would never choose to eat here again. read more

We both had the BLT it was okay it has been better in the past. Fabulous friendly hometown restaurant! Spicy sausage gravy with loads of sausage is our favorite! Get it on top of a breakfast bowl or traditional with biscuits. The menu was extensive and expensive. Our food came right out, but it wasn't hot. The kielbasa I had was hard to cut with a regular knife. It needed a steak knife to cut. Also, for the price, I thought the toast would be buttered. You butter it yourself. It was very crowded. It was disappointing. This was our first time coming here. I love this place. My husband and I first tried the location in Cuyahoga Falls and were so excited that we got one in Wadsworth. I like this location better, simply because it's bigger and cozier. Staff is extremely friendly and service is always good. The food is all very good too, I've only ever been disappointed once (did not enjoy The Harvey). This place is amazing! I first went to their restaurant in Merriman Valley locates in an old bank. It was a real mom and pop venture. The food was good and honest for a breakfast joint. Then they opened on the corner of high and college in Wadsworth and I was super happy. The place has only gotten better in the last five years. They now have gluten free options and a delicious dinner menu. We went there last night with friends and everyone enjoyed their meals. Although the drink menu is limited (at least they have adult beverages!) I was able to find a tasty treat in the Hurricane that was made with gluten free alcohol! I also order the special of salmon on mushroom risotto that was delicious. The salmon was so fresh and the risotto was super creamy with big chunks on mushrooms in it. It was served with a side of carrots! Yum. My husband got the French dip and he plate was clean when he was done! Our friends got the crispy chicken salad and the shrimp and grit cakes after he enjoyed the fried ravioli. When we were done we took our receipts and crossed the street to Dolce and had home made gelato! In Wadsworth!!! The owners of the Valley Cafe bought the Strand and have done a marvelous job of making a new destination for entertainment in downtown Wadsworth. As we ate our desserts we listened to a solo singer on the outdoor patio that has two bocce ball courts!
