I've been to Valley Café a few times now, and it's always a great experience. This visit, I ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich. They were out of the chicken patties, so they offered to substitute chicken tenders instead, which I really appreciated. It was still really good! I think it could have used a little something to make it less dry, but I'm guessing the regular chicken patty probably would've helped with that. Their cold brew iced coffee was delicious, and my friend ordered the spicy sausage gravy. I had a bite, and the flavor was fantastic! The highlight of our visit was our waitress. She was so fun, friendly, and attentive, and she made the whole experience even better. Hands down our favorite breakfast spot yet since our recent move to Ohio! We absolutely loved everything we ate and the staff was just beyond amazing. We came Valentine's Day morning on a whim...had the chocolate covered strawberry hot chocolate (yesssss) and coffee, a big breakfast of eggs, spicy gravy, meats, and potatoes, and the Amish toast which was pure heaven. We came back again on Fat Tuesday for the crab cakes and shrimp and grits. So awesome! It was also clean and inviting. Can't wait to come back! read more

This place was your typical run of the mill diner with all the things you love about homey American brunch. Rustic signage, clean bathrooms, chill seating space and relaxed atmosphere. Food was 4/5 for us because both sandwiches were DELICIOUS but the homemade chips were a little burnt a the bacon was on the edge in terms of too crispy-- and we like crispy bacon! Pancake was fluffy and eggs were basic but good. Overall, great experience! Service was very sweet and down to earth. All smiles and kindness! Also this place is very kid-friendly! I had never been to the area before and needed a place to kill time and get some food, this place was mentioned in every post on social media. However it was a very busy Saturday morning so I opted to do a takeout order. The menu has everything and anything imaginable. I chose a favorite which was breakfast burrito that had chorizo in it. It was so flavorful I didnt even need the pico or sour cream. It was served with potatoes that had great flavor as well. It was all amazing even in a takeout box. Edit: Returned 1 year later (1/2/26) and the chicken fried steak gravy was so bad I couldn't finish it. Tangy in the wrong way, lighter in color than last year, and just straight up didn't taste good. The eggs were overcooked and dried out, and the home fry potatoes were passable but I couldn't eat much of it. To their credit, the service was friendly and attentive and they comped the plate. Have lived in Wadsworth for 25 years. We have enjoyed going to Valley Cafe since it opened on the square several years ago. I was recently TURNED AWAY at the door for desiring to bring in a Latte that I ordered at King's Cafe across the street. Valley simply does not serve Espresso drinks so this is not an absurd expectation. We frequent other Wadsworth restaurants and have never been turned away for this. In fact, I have also done this at Valley on many occasions. I appealed to hostess to explain to manager that I wanted to bring in an espresso drink and he told her no without looking up at me or making any effort to explain. Valley has sadly lost a long-standing customer. Dolce at the Strand is also under same ownership, so we will look to Sal's now for gelato trips. Wadsworth businesses are known for being kind, laid back, and accommodating to their customers. I do hope that Valley owners decide to reverse this sad policy and apologize to customers. Service was excellent. I was really wanting a good hamburger for lunch. Everthing on my Swiss burger was good except the hamburger. It was a Grey flat piece of Mystery meat. I failed to read the fine print that it was a "proprietary blend". What does that mean? What are the ingredients? It was gross. What if someone is allergic to what you add. When I order a hamburger I expect 100% ground beef. Not a blend of crap! read more

Located in the heart of the Wadsworth town square, Valley Cafe offers great food, excellent service, and puts you right in the middle of a variety of potential stops for a fun afternoon - I'd suggest hitting up the old movie theater across the street which is now a gelato company. We often come during lunch time, but I still order breakfast. Typically I get a combination that includes scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits. The oatmeal is also very, very good. Our kids enjoy the pancakes which, as Buddy the Elf would say, are ginormous! You can add chocolate chips, blueberries, or bananas. The lunch menu looks good, but I have yet to try it. It can get crowded during peak times on weekends, so plan accordingly. They have inside booths, bar seating, and outdoor tables for nice days. The service is welcoming and usually fairly quick. Valley Cafe is a good option to consider when looking for Brunch. read more

A little late on my review but took my mother and my fiancé here and I've been begging to go back ever since. Atmosphere: it's a cute little diner bustling with customers and amazing servers with a sense that reminded me of the country hospitality I am used to. Lively, adorable and inviting in a comforting way. If it's your first time, it won't feel like it. Food: we got a pitcher of mimosas and it was strong and delicious. My fiancé and mom got Ruben's that they both loved. I got a crispy chicken sandwich but I believe it had bbq and no cheese so I got it custom with bacon, cheese, Mayo, etc. (pretty much made it a crispy chicken club that they should DEFINITELY put on the menu because it was the best I've had in a 30 mi radius). We were in the Cleveland vicinity for a weekend road trip, staying in Wadsworth. On Sunday before heading home, we decided to try Valley Café for lunch. There is a handy parking lot next to the restaurant. We arrived shortly after noon, and it was packed. The hostess told us about a 15 minute wait, and took my phone number. It was snowing hard outside, and there is no place to wait inside, so we wandered the street until I received a text that our table was ready. A village stroll would have been pleasant, had it not been so soggy outside. So be prepared to wait outside or in your car if you go during a busy time. Once we got our table, it was lovely. The cafe is warm and inviting, decorated with a country charm. We were seated at a half-booth/half-table right in the front window, overlooking quaint downtown Wadsworth. Now that we were inside, the falling snow outside made for a festive scene in the window. It was busy, but our server was still very attentive with ordering and refilling drinks. And food didn't take too long to arrive. Our tween son had french toast and poached eggs. Our vegan daughter had an impossible burger. I am vegetarian, and had a build-your-own egg white omelet. And my husband had the corned beef and hash skillet. We were generally pleased with our choices. My omelet wasn't as good as my favorite egg white omelets back in Buffalo NY, this one was pretty skimpy on the egg whites. But it was tasty enough. I had read in other reviews the vegan options here were good too, but the menu was pretty limited on vegan choices, maybe three items. My husband was probably the happiest of all, he enjoyed his breakfast skillet very much, it was sizable and meaty. For dessert we ordered the Amish french toast to share. The menu marked it as vegan. I asked to please serve it vegan, but I'm not totally convinced what we got was vegan. It tasted very buttery to me, and the icing was the same used on my son's regular french toast, which seemed like a dairy icing. The waitress wasn't knowledgeable about the vegan menu items, and my daughter lets it slide a bit when we're traveling, so we ate the toast. It was really delicious, but likely not vegan. One star of our lunch lineup was again a pick of my husband's - the Beermosa! It was a beer and cider breakfast concoction. He gladly gulped down two! The waitress kept my coffee and my daughter's decaf coffee cups filled for the duration of our meal too, so an overall good experience for us with beverages here. If you are purposely seeking out vegan options, be aware the menu is more limited than I found older reviews to indicate, and the vegan options on the menu were questionably vegan to me. Vegetarian options here are more abundant, though. And if you have no dietary restrictions, chances are you'll love your meal. Overall our family was happy with our Valley Café experience, the best part being the charm of the sweet restaurant, the friendly service, and the setting in such a cute little village. read more

my last review was 9 years ago and Danielle and I have been back and forth, a number of times, to Valley Cafe w/ mostly good results (as long as I stick w/ breakfast). this last weekend was different. i'm only taking one star because, by and large, things here are great. service is always really good. they always have good flavored coffees. and, you can always get the Dan's Barnyard. therein lies the problem. i didn't. this last weekend the special was steak and eggs so i ordered the steak and eggs. the owner overheard me and came over to show me a picture of him cutting up the steaks w/ the meat purveyor. he was very proud of them and told me that he hoped i liked it. i didn't. the pictures showed him cutting what looked like 3/4 inch thick steaks. what i got was maybe a 1/4 inch thing - which is fine. the issue was that my cut of meat was full of gristle and was so overly salty it was a chore to eat. everything else on my plate was delicious. they make some of the best homefries anywhere. and due to a glitch in the kitchen i was served scrambled eggs (which is how i'd normally order them) but i'd ordered over medium. my server noticed immediately and brought me the correct eggs almost as soon as my plate touched the table. so that half a steak i had to spit out or cast aside was, at least, replaced w/ a double portion of eggs. (i did get uncomfortable thinking the owner would ask me about the steak as he was sitting at the table next to use doing employee reviews. that does kinda beg the question as to why they seated us there when the restaurant wasn't (for a change) busy when we came in. it's a good sized place and there were tables available but for some reason they seated us to the side near the counter. oh well. no big deal.) I was here with a group of 15 just after attending a funeral at the nearby National Military Cemetery in nearby Seville, OH. The waitress (and staff) knew we had just come from a funeral and she (the waitress) asked if we'd like her to offer a blessing. She gave a very touching blessing and our group was very appreciative. Service was excellent - especially considering the size of our group right at the peak of lunch hour. The staff took our beverage orders very quickly and followed up with our food orders. I was amazed at how fast the meals were served after ordering. The Valley Cafe serves breakfast or lunch until 3PM and I think our group was split pretty evenly between those ordering breakfast and lunch. The portions were large and the food was excellent. The waitress indicated that everything was scratch made in-house and that all the meat was sourced locally. I had the Amish bacon cheeseburger with homemade chips. The burger itself would have rated 4 out of 5 stars but the addition of the Amish bacon pushed it over the top -- a full 5 stars. It was an exceptional burger. The cafe would have been cute if there weren't flies everywhere. It was so bad we had to move outside and there were actually less flies outside then there were inside. The server was nice. I asked her if the grits were gluten free and she said yes but they were clumpy and gross. If the server is saying it, I'll take her word. Don't get the grits. My mom ordered the avocado toast on gluten free bread and when it came out the bread didn't look gluten free. She asked about it and they said it wasn't gluten free. They took it back to get her order right but it took a pretty long time. I had the omelette and it was okay but overall I don't recommend this breakfast place. read more

We were in town for the local farmers market and walked over for brunch. I liked the environment and they had a nice outdoor seating area in the back and the front. Staff was polite and attentive. I was surprised that they had alcoholic options - I tried a blueberry lemonade mimosa and it was really good! My husband got coffee and said "it's 9,000 degrees" but when it cooled off he said it was good coffee lol The food was ok - my husband loved his chicken salad sandwich but said most of the chips were overdone. I got the yogurt and housemate granola. Overall, I liked it. It was exactly what I wanted, light and refreshing. The granola was disappointing as it was not crunchy at all, but the flavor was good. I was also disappointed that they charged you extra for more than 1 fruit choice (they offered blueberries, strawberries, or bananas). I got bananas and strawberries and the strawberries were not fresh. I was impressed with the options on the menu and I would be willing to come back and try something different. Fantastic breakfast spot! You can tell they really care about doing food right. I got a blueberry pancake...just had to try it. These famous flapjacks are as big as a dinner plate! I also got the veggie eggs Benedict. I knocked off a star because my poached eggs were totally hard. I know these are tricky to nail, and I usually don't say anything if they're close, but these weren't even in the ballpark. We mentioned it to the server and she was very kind and understanding and got us correctly cooked eggs right away. Other than that hiccup, I'd highly recommend this little joint. I joined the rewards club and will certainly be back to try their new dinner menu. read more

What do you do when 1/2 your group wants breakfast and 1/2 want lunch. You head to valley café. This cute casual restaurant hits all the food marks. First and foremost if your server suggests something please listen. Our server suggested the soup of the day a potato steak. She washed away and we all unanimously said no way.. she returned and as we prodded her for other suggestions she asked if we wanted to try the soup. We all agreed and wow am I glad we did. It was Outstanding. Peppery, spicy, hearty.. just delicious. Several friends got the soup sandwich combo..which was a nice portion for lunch. Since they don't have a soup salad combo.. shocking.. This place really is a gem. It's always nice when you find a place that actually cooks. I work in Barberton lunchtime is a big deal for me and my coworkers. I always wandered the opposite direction when I came this way but my coworker took my to a bakery that he found that was actually just 2 stores up and this place caught my eye. A few lunches later and we find ourselves here. Seating was relatively easy to get at lunch time and service is QUICK for real food. Everything I've had has been great here and no disappointments at all. On my last visit, I had the spicy cabbage soup and it has just the right amount of spice it. I love spice and A LOT of people who claim to have a "spicy" dish is usually so bland it's ridiculous. A day after I had lunch here, my coworker texts me that this location was actually on a morning news show as must stop and I have to agree! It's bottomless but Bland. I thought about springing for lunch as some of the lunch options looked tasty. I ordered an omelette instead. It was good "ish". Better than Bob Evans.
