What a delicious mistake! A friend and I enjoy exploring different corners of Akron, finding new places to walk around and grab lunch. While driving through what locals call "The Valley," I noticed the large new sign for Michael's A.M. and decided we should give it a try. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The patio area was clean and inviting, and the inside was equally spotless. We were quickly seated, and our server, Charles, greeted us almost immediately. He was friendly, attentive, and told us he inherited his beautiful blue eyes from his mother--a fun little conversation that made us smile. My friend ordered the Strawberry Crêpes, which were soft and filled with fresh strawberries, topped with a rich cream sauce and generous whipped cream. She absolutely loved them. I went in a savory direction and ordered the Reuben sandwich with house-made chips. The sandwich was delicious--grilled rye bread piled with corned beef and sauerkraut. I especially appreciated that the Thousand Island dressing was served on the side, allowing me to add as much or as little as I wanted. The chips were freshly made, although they were seasoned with an onion-flavored seasoning that wasn't quite to my taste. I would have preferred simple salt, but that's purely personal preference. My husband ended up enjoying the leftover chips when I brought them home! One thing that stood out was Charles's attention to detail. When I packed up half of my sandwich, he even offered a separate container for the extra Thousand Island dressing. It was a small gesture, but very thoughtful. The restaurant was busy with people of all ages, and there seemed to be plenty of staff to keep things running smoothly. The menu is available all day, so you can enjoy breakfast or lunch whenever you visit--which I assume is the inspiration behind the "A.M." name. I noticed several menu favorites being recommended, including their quiche, Eggs Benedict, and vegetarian options. They're open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and most meals appear to fall in the $10-$20 range per person. We took a chance on a restaurant we'd never visited before, and I'm so glad we did. We had such a delicious breakfast at Michael's AM today! We ordered the BLT on sourdough and the Irish omelette, and both were fantastic. One thing we especially appreciated was that the omelette fillings were actually mixed throughout the eggs instead of just folded inside like a taco, which we've noticed a lot of places tend to do. It made every bite flavorful and balanced. The coffee was fresh and delicious, and our waitress was incredibly sweet, attentive, and welcoming. The atmosphere felt very comfortable and relaxing overall. My only small suggestion would be adjusting the table placement or adding better shades, since the sun reflecting off the cars outside was a bit blinding even with the shades down. I had heard good things about Michael's AM and finally tried it today. Met some friends there on Sunday at 11:30am and there was a bit of a wait (there were 6 of us, so we understood). They told us it would be a 20 minute wait and took our phone number to call when a table was ready. We had to wait outside since it's not large inside and after 40 minutes I went in to check and they said they had called but definitely did not. I overheard someone else with the same issue so it sounds like their calling wait system isn't good. Once we got in and seated though, all was well! They have a pretty good sized menu with plenty of breakfast and lunch options, as well as vegetarian and gluten free items. Our server was friendly and attentive and all of the food we ordered was good. I got a blueberry pancake (it was filled with a good amount of blueberries - yummy!) and asked for strawberries on top as well as a side of grits. Food was good. Hostess clearly does not like her job or at the very least did not want to be here today. Visibly annoyed that I wanted a table not a seat at the counter. "Meh". At the suggestion of a friend, I dined here Sunday morning. Menu was extensive with plenty of options for everyone. The first thing I noticed was that the prices were high for a place whose interior could, at best, be described as a dirty spoon plus but ya never know with some mildly dingy interiors. I decided to spring for the corned beef sandwich ($9.95) and coffee ($2.39?). (After ordering the coffee, I noticed they had a Kona option for a dollar more. I would have surely paid the up-charge because the coffee was dreadful.) The corned beef is made there and it was good. There was a fair amount of corned beef. i just ordered and i ordered my kid a side of bacon and i did not get it. i also got burnt bread, stale, and no jam for my toast. you have to think when preparing these orders! where is this customer at? are they at home ? are they at the office ? u have to think of where they could be at and what type of things they need when you're completing their order. re check over the receipt and make sure all the items are in the bag. as a food manager we can not forget anything. we are constantly checking the order ticket and making sure all food gets to our customers. as you should. please make better solutions when fixing future orders for other customers. 2.00 for a piece of bacon is crazy expensive and i would appreciate it if i would of gotten my expensive piece of bacon. hire better people to assemble your online orders or have a manager do it themselves if you can not trust your crew member to complete the order. thanks and have a great day!!!!! read more

This was horrible. I got two Groupons to try here because I had heard it was good. Both times sucked. The togo order was soggy, cold, and the Groupon I ordered couldn't be used on the weekend but they are only open 7-1:30 Monday- Friday. No mention of this when looking and purchasing but is in the very fine print once purchased. So I paid full price and got the food home to discover it wasn't bitter meatloaf. Potatoes cold and gravy not included. The chicken breast sandwich was ok. Soggy but that happens with togos sometimes. TODAY- went in for a sit down. Ordered french toast, hash browns, side of bacon and omelette. The only hot item was the middle of the omelette. Hash Browns were served bitter and cold. No sure what they e for seasoning. Never got a refill of drinks. They lost our order and we could hear the kitchen and waitress piecing it together with what was in the window. Our food was delivered and never saw the waitress again . Overall, the food was great. There was a 15 minute wait, which they said there would be (I was glad they were true to their word, although I hoped it would be a little less ... at least it wasn't more). I ordered the Mexican omelet, and I was brave and got it with tomato and onion (I do not like either of these, but since I like salsa, I figured that they would be OK in the omelet). And I was right. It was so delicious ... filled with salsa, cheddar cheese, onion, green peppers and tomatoes. Way too much though. It also came with hash browns, which are one of my favorite breakfast foods. They were slightly browned and crispy, and so good. The best part was the homemade cinnamon raisin bread though, which was to die for. Highly recommend. Now, like I said before, I ordered a Groupon a few months ago, and it is expiring on Monday. So I thought today would be a good day to use it. I was wrong. I did not read the fine print, and I am now stuck with a Groupon to Michael's AM that I can only use M-F. This is a problem because I work full-time. So I was not very happy about this. Granted, I should have read the fine print, but it is still silly to make a Groupon Monday through Friday when you only serve breakfast and lunch, and close at 2.
