This was my first time visiting this café, and I felt genuinely welcomed from the moment we walked in. The barista (who I believe is the head barista) went above and beyond by giving us a full "tour" of the drink menu, explaining each type of drink and helping us decide what to order. She was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. She even asked our names and introduced herself, which made the experience feel personal and warm. This place always have very unique, creative flavor combinations. I tried the Bacon Sweet Cherry Revenge sandwich for the first time. Personally, it was too sweet for me and I was expecting the cherry jam to be more tart. But I do enjoy trying new flavor combinations! I also got a bagel with the garlic herb cream cheese. As you can see in the picture, the bagel texture looked off to me,l with the pale flaky bits, but I do not believe it was from unbaked pieces or staleness since it tasted fine to me. They gave me two things of cream cheese, and so I appreciate the amount they gave! I ordered on DoorDash and they prepped the food so fast! We ordered a matcha at this cafe and it tasted like spirulina powder, and no sweetener. As a matcha lover and as popular as it is these days, this should be something to work on. You can also tell that all of the baristas are new people we even got a cup of coffee and it wasn't great. read more

Unfortunately, I paid $13 for this on DoorDash today which is insane, it's priced at $7 regularly and even that seems like highway robbery. This is not high quality matcha. I got a pumpkin spice latte (made with pumpkin puree I believe) - very tasty and comparatively priced. For my breakfast to go, I grabbed the signature breakfast sandwich on a bagel with bacon. I always like to stop at local coffee shops when visiting a new area. So, while in Akron, we visited Chameleon Cafe for breakfast. I liked the funky vibe and vintage decorations. There are 3-4 tables to sit and hang and a couple of comfy chairs. It wasn't busy on a Thursday morning so we grabbed a two-seat table. It looks like they also put out seating on the sidewalk but it was raining. Ordering was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered breakfast sandwiches on English muffins, mine with sausage and Christopher's with just egg and cheese. Mine was yummy and perfect! I got a sugar-free decaf caramel latte, which was wonderful!! Christopher got a butter beer iced latte. He said it could've had more butterscotch but it still was tasty. Yesterday I wrote a review about how the place smelt horrible and the cashier was rude. Let me start by saying the smell was unbearable. It consisted of wet dog, mold, and fried food. Yes I did come in and order but since I couldn't use my preferred payment I had to leave. (I was very thankful since the worker was unfriendly). The cashier gave me attitude for no reason. Great spot for breakfast and lunch! I finally got to try this place out...I've been wanting to go for a while but they aren't open on weekends and they close early afternoon. It's downtown Akron so keep that in mind for parking but we found a spot nearby without much difficulty. We opted to eat inside, but a ton of people came in for pickup/to go orders while we were waiting so that seems to be a popular choice. They serve breakfast all day, which I love, so I ordered a breakfast sandwich and coffee even though it was 2pm. The sandwich is a double egg patty with your choice of bread and protein. The service was friendly as well. I went for an English muffin for my sandwich and asked if they could add avocado and spinach since I'm a vegetarian and they kindly agreed. The sandwich was beyond delicious! My coffee was good too...I got one of their specialty drinks (iced coconut caramel latte) and subbed for oat milk and it did not disappoint. My mom ordered their Mexican street corn chicken wrap and a lemonade and was pleased with them both! The cilantro and house made lime butter were key staples to the panini because they brought out the flavour. The half size cilantro like chicken panini sandwich was $5.69 and the full is $8.89. These prices are definitely on the higher end of the price spectrum. Although the cost may seem high, the sandwich and other items on the menu are made fresh in their kitchen. MENU - They have a full lunch menu and they are also open for breakfast. They also serve baked goods such as cookies. They have drinks as well such as coffee and hot chocolate. They can cater for you too so if you are having a party or office lunch, just call them ahead of time. SERVICE - Awesome. Once my friend and I ordered lunch, our food was brought out in a cafeteria style tray. My friend and I arrived at 12:30pm on a Tuesday and it was not too busy. The crowd later picked up but it seemed that most people took their lunch orders to go as there were plenty of chairs and tables to sit on. I love this small business and I'll definitely be back at least one more time before my temporary work stay in Akron ends. Prices are high but everything is lade fresh, in-house. We stopped in here for a late lunch and were not disappointed by the food quality! I had the black bean and sweet potato burrito. It was perfectly toasted and the tortilla was really good. I also had a small side salad, no cheese. The apple cider vinaigrette dressing is amazing! Light and flavorful. My dining companions had the meatball grilled cheese (with marinara for dipping) and the clam chowder (soup of the day). Everything was fresh and delicious! Chameleon Cafe is a hidden gem on Main Street! I have enjoy delicious breakfast, lunch, coffee and smoothies from Chameleon. I have also used them for lunch catering service. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Everything is made fresh for you each time you order. The power bowls put them in a league of their own in Akron. The Spicy Szechuan and the Korean bowl have both been excellent every single time. I wish I could say more about other dishes but I can't stop ordering those two. Line moves quick, food is ready quick, even with a crowd. Always clean and upbeat. Parking out front in the pick up zone makes it super easy to drop in and drop out.
