Food was good - personally, I think it a little difficult to mess up breakfast basics, but this was good. Nothing overly special. However, our server was real fun! My BF lives very close to this place and for a long time, I've begged him to take me for brunch. It took multiple attempts because apparently, this place is the most popular place in Akron. We had to call beforehand, and really commit to coming here because it is CROWDED. Even after calling about wait times, we waited for another 20 some minutes on a Sunday. Yeesh! Service was friendly and good. Food was...fine. Not as spectacular as I was expecting. Their maple butter was fire though! The waffles were good but again, not memorable. I consider this a one and done unless it really wowed me. I had that craving, I finally came here and yeah...I'm good! No regrets. Happy to check out other local brunch places in Akron! read more

New age spin on the old school greasy spoon diner. Plenty of people who came in were definitely locals and regulars, which have it that old diner vibe. Nice enough though for us city slickers who might turn a nose at a torn vinyl seat. Their waffle selection was fairly unique and ranged outside the standard regular and blueberry. This place was great It seems like a little bit of a whole I. The wall but the restraint was warm and comfortable. The food was amazing. The food tasted good. Our server was friendly and personable. The outdoor seating was comfortable. However, the prices were a bit random. Between $8 and $12 for just a waffle seems kind of crazy. Our friend got the Honey Butter waffle. It was as described: a waffle with a portion of butter with honey, and nothing else. On the other hand, I got the chicken wings and waffle and it was as described: waffle, chicken wings. But mine was only a few dollars more. Great price for the wings but terrible price for just the waffle. The waffles were good but they were not amazing. It's a chain. But a fine one. Waffles are hot and fresh and come in an infinite number of varieties. I had the honey butter version and it arrived with just the right amount of honey butter and a dusting of powdered sugar. Grab the meat sides, they are a bargain not usually seen in breakfast joints. My 90 year old mom accompanied me on this visit and her Belgian waffle disappeared slathered in syrup, warm at that. Nice place for a diner style breakfast. Service was very friendly and took our orders very quickly. Also love the giant waffle on the ceiling. All the food came out very quick and was very hot. The Chicken N' Waffle was awesome, the waffle was sweet, fluffy on the inside, and a little crisp on the outside, perfect for soaking up maple syrup. I got the waffle called better day & let me tell you it started my day just right. It was made with oat bran muffin batter & filled with apples, raisins, pecans, coconut, pineapple, & carrot. My husband is so picky about waffles, and he loved these. That's five stars for me right there! My eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes meal was delicious as well. I'm a sucker for the waffle art on the ceiling, and I liked being able to see the world go by in Highland Square outside the big glass windows. We parked right out front. We were seated within 2 minutes of arrival. Our server Stacey exemplified customer service as its best. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so thank goodness this place is open until 2pm and has has both breakfast and lunch options. I love when I have no clue what to expect and end up having the best breakfast. If this place wasn't in a strip mall, I would consider it a cool diner. The staff was awesome and the food was delicious. They also had pancakes and French toast which is not usually the case when you visit a waffle place. If you love super toppings, well you need to check them out. Tons of great choices from fruit to bacon. I can't wait for my next visit! This review just went down from five stars. Is one employee enough to warrant this? You judge... "You need to stand behind the hostess podium MA'AM!!! It's the LAW!!!!" the employee snarled at me." I am there as a customer and as a DoorDash driver several times a week-- this was news to me. "Since when?" I asked with a gentle voice. "Since ALWAYS!!!" She spat at me from over her improperly worn face mask (it was around her neck, probably so that she could snarl at me with full effect. At that point I decided to ignore her. I can cook my own breakfast from now on. She continued to sneer at me (making me feel like I was back in grade school facing a bully at recess!) The original review lauded the employees-- let's face it, simple breakfast food is only elevated by great customer service (we can all toast bread at home!) Today, after being told that the Boss has designated the place a No Mask Zone after breakfast, I took the opportunity to ask about this at a different (the Tallmadge circle) location. Melissa, the manager there, was remarkable. I talked her ear off and felt like a jerk. It seemed clear that the employees at the Market street location were misrepresenting. Melissa told me that her brother in law (two brothers own the three restaurants and she is married to one of them) is a "bit of a germaphobe." The Wally Waffle menu was what pulled me in when looking for breakfast places in the Akron area. We got to the restaurant and were seated right away. It is a small establishment and soon had a wait time shortly after we were seated. They have waffles, pancakes, and egg prominent dishes as a majority of their menu offerings. I got the Elvis waffle filled with bacon and peanut butter chips, topped with bananas, honey and whipped cream. It was an explosion in my mouth with every delectable bite! It was just enough waffle to be filling and not need any sides. The syrup comes out in a large glass container and is warm. It is a nice touch. Our service was friendly and fast. My cousin advised me to get the Wally Breakfast, which was a ton of food for $5.99. Mind you, this breakfast is only available during the week. The Wally fries were very very good. I added cheese, onions, and peppers, which made for a great foodie time. But honestly, I could have not gotten the cheese. Didn't add anything special. The bacon was crisp, and they do not skimp on the toast. Very good and fresh food. The server was so sweet and kind. Everyone appeared to enjoy their food. My mom ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken is pieces (drum vs flats), but it is seasoned SOOOO GOOD We came back the following sunday, but they were packed! It's easy to tell why. read more
