Biscuit and gravy wth scrambled eggs
Sarah K.

Stumbled across Julian's one Sunday when the breakfast place I intended to go to with an out-of-town guest was surprisingly closed. Boy am I glad we did! What a find. Cute and cozy atmosphere paired with friendly and helpful wait staff and delicious homemade menu items is more than we could have expected just stumbling upon a place. I had the biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs which were the fluffiest eggs I've ever had at a restaurant. The homemade sausage gravy was perfectly light and flavorful and the biscuit..OH the biscuit! I am so sick of going to restaurants on Sundays for breakfast only to find the biscuits (they're my favorite thing) taste like they've probably been made the night before and have been reheated. Not this biscuit! Clearly fresh and fluffy and just perfect. My girlfriend got a croissant sandwich and let me tell you, that croissant was the most delicious croissant I've ever tried. So flaky and deliciously buttery I can't wait to come back!

Nice little place. Lots of times at little diners, the food is super greasy. Not this place. Tasty breakfast, but I will have to go back for lunch. Specials on the board all sounded delicious. Seemed like a lot of regulars were there. AMAZINGLY clean! I was full but not stuffed. Really perfect breakfast. I will pick Julian's over Fred's.

Tasty. Reg breakfast was just $5.50.

Four stars for price. 3 for food. With breakfast running $7-8 it's nice to get something decent for $5. This is absolutely standard breakfast fare. It's tasty but it's not a culinary event. I don't think it's supposed to be though.

Breakfast...best food and best deal around! Family-run little place in Goodyear Heights...a little gem. Don't miss out on the potatoes and sausage!

Standard breakfast. Handmade sausage.

It's a small restaurant in downtown Akron. You also get the small town feel. It's next to a beauty salon. The waitress Janice was really nice and welcoming. The food was good too and the prices were excellent. For three of us it was $28! The sausage is homemade too. It's a must try.

Couldn't wait to dig in. Yum!

Julian's is still my favorite breakfast spot! I went in on Saturday morning and tried the spinach, mushroom, and cheese omlette special and it was amazing! The staff are all so sweet and friendly and I love how they all have pink Julian's t-shirts; so cute! I always see a mix of ages and races in Julian's and it's so nice that we can all be there together enjoying our meals in peace.

Delicious and highly recommend!

Ate there for the first time and loved it! Great breakfast and friendly service. Had waffles, home fries, bacon and a breakfast sandwich. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Clam Chowder - the most delicious I've ever tasted!! And, as you can see from the photo - they offer quality saltines too!

Debated whether to leave a review here at all but after a couple of months...I'm here to give you…read moreguys the real deets. I owe it to fellow diners out here because I disagree with 90% of the reviews on here. The good: the owner greeted us and served us as he explained a worker was out sick. Owner is super friendly, gregarious and pleasant. There was a friendly cat either sitting next to us or roaming leisurely around the tiny house restaurant. One star just goes to the cat for being such a well behaved staff member. The free garlic bread was the only thing that I considered good here. They appeared to be just hotdog buns smushed, toasted and smeared with so much salt and butter it was drowning in everything. But it was crunchy and had flavor! The bad: the food was not good, y'all. Did it look and taste homemade? Almost painfully so. Pasta was watery, no real sauce (just canned pineapple syrup from the can), shrimp was BOILED (not seared, fried nor grilled), salad dressing was just oil with no herbs or spices or anything! Nothing was seasoned and all dishes looked boiled and so pale. BF said he saw the owner move pasta from pan to plate with his hands; no gloves... Prices were really high for no reason. Our very basic dishes were $28+. Portions were very small especially for pasta dishes. I am grateful he gave me like 2 extra shrimps but I had to take them to re-cook them better at home! BF got some chicken dish that was so white looking it was translucent. He said it didn't have any flavor and we needed to douse everything in pepper, salt, hot sauce, whatever. Ventilation was so bad in the tiny house. There was just steam and fumes that stayed and wafted around us the whole time. My clothes smelled like cooking fumes and old oil for a week. I'm glad he gets plenty of business and has regulars who come. They are all in their 70s and 80s and probably local. I have such high standards for food, cooking, seasoning that this just wouldn't cut it but I'm glad BF and I finally checked it out as it's close to where he lives. For a place to have Grill in the name, there was nothing on the very limited menu that was grilled.

I had the Shrimp in Pineapple BBQ sauce over pasta and my friend had the BBQ ribs. Both were very, very good! This was our first time there and we will be back!

Very good, maybe a tad dry. A good Aioli was needed. A couple of beers and that was that. Good service. I will return for a slower paced night out.

I've never been here before but I know it's a fairly popular place so I was quick to agree to the location. We originally sat at the bar but the stools were so incredibly uncomfortable, so we moved to a booth. While our server was nice, it did take her quite a while to come take our drink order. I got a "lavendar breeze" for my first drink and it was delicious. The menu is small, with the focus being on grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm not a huge grilled cheese lover, so I ordered a wedge salad (with house white French dressing) and the sauerkraut balls from the appetizer menu. The salad was on par with what you'd expect, the dressing was tasty. The sauerkraut balls, though, kind of threw me. First, it's a HUGE serving. There was around 30-40 sauerkraut balls in the basket; way more than I ever imagined would be in an order. I was expecting four or five golf ball sized balls. Maybe I've been spoiled by having some fantastic sauerkraut balls, but these were subpar, at best. They didn't have a lot of flavor and the cocktail sauce they served with them was an odd choice. While I still enjoyed time catching up with a friend and the drinks were well done, I doubt I'll come back for food. The menu just wasn't appealing to me and what I did have wasnt good enough to lure me back anytime soon.
