I haven't been blown away by a breakfast place in quite some time. The sleepy rooster did it today. We have always passed by and often planned to come, but never made it until today. Very cozy little restaurant located in a small strip plaza. Great wait staff. The coffee was outstanding and the food did not disappoint. My wife had biscuits and gravy with crispy potatoes and bacon. I had the goetta with eggs and rye toast. When they say crispy potatoes, they mean crispy. And the goetta was both plentiful and flavorful. We will be back very very soon. read more

The Sleepy Rooster was the perfect place for the four of us to get a nice sit down lunch. We got seated right away on the weekday during peak lunch hours. The service was great- everyone was very friendly. My boyfriends mom introduced me to the Geotta. I really liked it, it was like a salty type of pancake. Never had it before but im glad I got to try it at the sleepy rooster. The shrimp and grits looked awesome. Can't go wrong with a classic breakfast. I got the french dip which was very filling and delicious. Bound to have left overs with this one. read more

Got on the waitlist an hour ahead and got in around 15 minutes early. We were seated in a booth. Timely service . Coffee is always hot and fresh. Service was good. Overall, food came out quickly and everything was done the way we requested. Shout out to the chef who made my poached eggs perfectly. The restaurant was not noisy but casual, friendly vibe. My best advice: join the waitlist in advance. There will be a wait but that wait is WORTH IT. You'd never expect such amazing food at this hidden gem in a little strip mall but it lives up to all of its hype. Honestly every single thing on the menu is great and I highly encourage you to take home a bottle of their homemade hot sauce. Nothing I've had compares to it. read more

Stopped in the sleepy rooster for breakfast and enjoyed our meal! The wait was pretty long but we were able to join the waitlist from Google before we even left the house which was super nice. The biscuits are a must try, I got the breakfast biscuit sandwich, potatoes, and side of sausage gravy. My husband got the chorizo hash which he really enjoyed. A little pricey for breakfast but you get a lot of food. read more

I'm already planning my next trip back to The Sleepy Rooster! Small-town ambiance with high-scale food options. Everyone including clientele, waitstaff, chefs, and busboys were warm and friendly in their interactions. Now onto the food, absolutely incredible! Traditional breakfast items to more intricate dishes, you can't lose. Tried their monthly pancake special, a lemon berry cheesecake pancake...yum!!! Can't wait to see whats on the schedule for next month, as I will definitely be back to check it out! read more

Cute little place in a strip mall. Was visiting my son and looking for a breakfast place nearby. Definitely need to put your name in the waitlist (they don't take reservations). We waited for a table for 2. Service was quick and friendly. Lots of delicious options - we shared a side of blueberry pancake which was delicious. You get a choice of pancake syrup or maple syrup. I'm not from the Midwest so I don't know what pancake syrup is so we opted for maple syrup. My husband had the French dip grilled cheese which was a pretty big portion. I ordered the chorizo hash - both delicious! Would like to try, again for lunch when we're back in town. read more

We loved the Sleepy Rooster The food and the service were excellent We will definitely drive that extra distance from Twinsburg again read more

this was recommended in the group chat and this turned out to be a really good spot. a normal sized brunch spot. you're able to reserve a table and they'll send a text when its ready. i decided to try the goetta & eggs. it was described as a german breakfast and it was quite delightful, very well seasoned. the eggs were scrambled in a way that i hadn't seen before but it got the job done. i got the rye toast on the side. i didn't expect the slices to be as big as they were. they were good but i forgot to ask for some jelly. i think that would've made it a lil better. overall this would be a brunch spot i would check out again. read more

The sleepy rooster continues to put out some delicious eats! The quaint location is a must see breakfast destination!

Locals know that this is a new hot spot. The food is inventive, but comforting. The staff is laid back, but attentive. Hot tip: if you're not a church-goer, mid-morning Sundays are an excellent time to go. read more

Decorated with rooster decor. Welcoming and open. Our server was very sweet. My husband ordered the chorizo hash and he enjoyed it. I had the goetta and eggs over medium with dry white toast. It was tasty. I liked that the toast was a really good bread. For two, eggs, toast and sausage it was a bit pricey. I would consider returning if in the area again. read more

This is my mom and stepdad's post-pickleball breakfast tradition - a bit more expensive of an option, but I can certainly see why! The goetta is a must-try IMO, especially if you've never had it before. Such a unique texture - like a breakfast sausage patty had a baby with a hasbrown. The chorizo in my meal was so scrumptious - large pieces with the perfect char and super hearty. Very much a family-friendly place with more than just your standard brunch options - portions are generous and the service is great since everything is basically in one room so your waiter is always accessible. Super homey feel with the feel of a hometown staple and with very modern sleek. Loved it! read more

This was an excellent place for breakfast, my family and I were impressed! It's got a bright and welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. I ordered the Goetta and eggs (first time trying goetta): the goetta was seasoned like a breakfast sausage but was light, non-greasy, and thin. It is crumbly (and thus hard to share), but I'm very glad I tried it! My only criticism from my meal was that the eggs were a little bland - they would've tasted better if cooked in butter. The toast had a good texture and crunch (you can tell they don't just buy generic bagged bread from the grocery store). I also tried a bit of the biscuits and gravy: they make rich, creamy, and delicious sausage gravy. The potatoes were twice cooked, so they were crunchy and amazing. I'd love to come back here and I highly recommend it! read more

Delicious food, wonderful service, and lovely space make for a great combo. The only down side is the long wait. Just be prepared and join the wait list early (like an hour ahead) if you're planning to go on the weekend. Try the rooster cakes -- the description sounds strange (even commented as such on the menu; basically they're pancakes with cheese and cooked apples) but the combo works! If you're curious but don't want to commit, add it as a side like we did. Every dish was fresh and tasty -- from lunch options to breakfast options to sides to try! read more

I'd heard nothing but good things about The Sleepy Rooster. My friend and I went on a Sunday a little before noon, and while it was quite busy, we still did not have to wait very long for a table. We were greeted right away with water, I opted for their fresh squeezed OJ, my friend got coffee. They serve breakfast and lunch items. Both menus looked fantastic but I wanted breakfast food. I ordered a bunch of sides because everything sounded so dang good, it was hard to choose one entree. I ordered a pancake, a rooster cake (pancake with cheddar and spiced apples), polenta, house-made biscuit (which I dipped in the polenta), and crispy potatoes with onions. I don't usually eat a huge breakfast but the food here was so delicious I couldn't stop and I finished everything. I would definitely come here again! read more

Great food. Cute ambiance. Friendly service. Online scheduling is wonderful. I highly recommend

Visiting from Miami, FL. My daughter suggested we have breakfast at The Sleepy Rooster close to where she lives. It did not disappoint. We sat at the bar with views to the kitchen. Food was fantastic. I had the breakfast huge biscuit with sausage, Cheese, and egg. Along side, the crispy potatoes. Service was great, greeted with smiles from everyone. My favorite, the head chef smiles over to us and ask how we are today and thanked us for coming in. Wow... That was special. We will certainly be back on my bimonthly visits to Ohio. Highly recommend. read more

Food is great! Get a rooster cake with the local syrup - you won't be sorry! Ambiance is fine, a little cafeteria like but it's fine. Service is where it lacks a little. Everyone is attentive until the food comes. Once it does, good luck getting a refill on coffee. I asked multiple times and all the wait staff said they would be back with a pot...but never came. Multiple tables were asking too, so it wasn't just me. read more

Food is excellent but every time I go there I have a severe reaction to the meal a few hours later. Every single time.

I don't easily give out 5 stars but The Sleepy Rooster deserves it. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I've never had a bad item on the menu and I've eaten here at least 8 times. My two favorites are the breakfast on a biscuit with the homemade guetta (it's fantastic) and the rooster cakes is one of the best breakfast dishes you can order. Service is always good as well the vibe of the restaurant. read more

This place is phenomenal! We love coming here, almost weekly... my husband always gets the biscuits and gravy, I would too if I wasn't as adventurous, I've had a few different things off their menu and I have to say the west end is delicious!!! Would definitely recommend but make sure to join their waitlist before you plan to go because it is a popular place earlier in the morning time for breakfast. read more

This is a popular breakfast spot with not a lot of space, so definitely use the waitlist feature. You can also shorten your wait time by letting the host know you are willing to sit at the counter. We went on a Sunday morning, after church. Our wait would have been 2 hours if we had waited for a table, but we waited less than 15 for counter seats! Service was excellent and the food was good. There isn't a soda fountain, so your Coke products are served in a cold can with a glass of ice. Upscale breakfast/lunch/brunch menu with some things you don't typically see. I had the Yaz, which is a fried bologna sandwich. My friend had the veggie frittata. Great portions! No alcoholic drinks. read more

Honestly what an amazing little gem. Nondescript in a plaza, but when you walk in it's so crisp, clean and modern. I would agree with other commenters that a reservation is necessary (we heard people being quoted an hour and a half wait at one point on a Saturday morning)! However, it's so worth it. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. And the food!? LOVE. I always appreciate when food is made locally, and The Sleepy Rooster doesn't disappoint. I got just a standard breakfast and my table got a rooster cake to share -- I'm so glad we did! I will definitely be back if I'm in the area. read more

I chose this restaurant because we wanted something nearby and loved the name. We were not disappointed. So many breakfast restaurants are chains that have the same overpriced items or traditional breakfast items. This one was local and had very interesting breakfast items for a very reasonable price. My choice was the Rooster Cake which contained chedder and spiced apples. I chose the local maple syrup. My wife went with the pancakes of the day which were a lemon cream cheese with berry topping. Both were good choices. Service was professional and friendly and she came around frequently to refresh our coffee (no thermos carafe). There is a service charge if using credit card. However an actual check, not QR code to pay via online. In short a friendly place serving great food at a reasonable price. Note: They only serve breakfast and lunch and close at 2 PM. We will go there again and try their lunch menu. read more

The sleepy rooster is truly the best breakfast and brunch spot in all of greater Cleveland and maybe even Ohio. We have been going for several years now and every meal and dish we've tried has been incredible. From the chorizo hash, the rooster cakes, homemade biscuits, Guetta, avocado, toast, frittata, coffee and more, everything is absolutely outstanding. Additionally, the service is always excellent and servers and hostesses are very kind and accommodating. Make sure to check their website before going so you can put your name on the wait list, as they are very popular, especially on the weekends. read more

My mom and sisters and I came for brunch today and the experience was excellent!!! We ordered a few items to try and each of us enjoyed all the dishes. The Brie, bacon, and fig sandwich is a great choice as recommended by our chipper server Maddy. It was a welcome new spin on an old classic grilled cheese and a must try if you like Brie. The loaded potatoes were good but I would have preferred a different cheese to the mozzarella (pepper Jack or provolone possibly?) something that wasn't quite as tough once it cooked a bit but the crispy potatoes were a welcome treat. The chef stopped by towards the end to check on our table and that was a nice personable touch. Overall I highly recommend this place for both the food, ambience and service. read more
