First time there, we love mom and pop diners. There were less than 15 people total to serve. Waitress Angela barely walked to our table and all she said was "are you ready?" without saying hi or introducing herself. Didn't come back to get our order until fifteen minutes later, never checked on us. Basically ripped the menus out of our hands. Food did not come out for 45 minutes. Food came out cold, eggs were undercooked/RAW and could not even be consumed. Home fries were undercooked and hard. Toast didn't come out until ten minutes after everything else, our plates were barely touched. I could understand if they were busy, but when we left there was less than 10 people. Angela only saw us twice in the whole experience in an hour and a half. read more

This would be one of my " would return " places. They greet you when you walk in and the teenagers that worked there were so polite and the food was excellent and the coffee wasn't weak but not to strong. read more

Popped into this place shortly after getting off the plane and before checking into the hotel for breakfast- here you will find a warm inviting atmosphere. While we did miss pancakes, which stop serving at 11. Just your normal local diner/greasy spoon! I really enjoyed my breakfast sandwich. The interior is pretty cute and our server was very nice. I will say that our table was pretty sticky so I'm not sure about it's cleanliness. The pancake I ordered was overcooked (refer to photo) and did not taste very good. Other than the pancake, we were satisfied with our meals. The sign that is posted in their parking lot is funny and sad at the same time. I'm loving the pettiness! We have eaten at this diner twice .Both times service was horrible and food was mediocre. The waitress is eating food behind the counter in site of customers. My husband's toast was barely cooked and potatoes not done. At one point 4 staff members were hanging around doing nothing but talking.... Coffee refills were offered 3/4 into the meal.... read more

The gateway diner is a hidden gem. The food was great! We had a breakfast jalapeño quesadilla and cinnamon swirl French toast an OJ and 2 coffees for $21.20. First time going to this diner. People recommended it to me so I decided to give a try. Dining room was empty when I got there. The staff and my server were very nice and welcoming. I really had high hopes for the food! I order a mac and beef soup to start with. It wasn't bad, taste was alright. It was just sort of different. I also ordered a tuna melt sandwich. The bread was sitting on a bit of water and it appeared as though there was no mayo or very little mayo in the tuna. I tried to eat it and everytime I bit into it water would just fall onto the plate. The tuna just tasted like it was taken straight out of the can w/o draining the water. It was simply disgusting and I could not finish it. I will definitely give this place a second chance and hopefully the next meal will be better. read more

Stopped in for Father's Day. Not from the area so relied on reviews. Omelets were light and fluffy, buttery and full of fresh ingredients. It was nice that you could make your own. Just picked this place off of Yelp and it was a great find. We had a large group including 3 kids and a baby. The service was very attentive including an understanding of going out to eat with a baby. Her order went in quickly and instead of bringing a glass of juice the waitress suggested half water and half juice. That's what we do at home but never had a restaurant offer it. Very impressive. We were seated at a table with enough room, unusual with a big group. We all had breakfast and it was very good, perfect really. All for a good price. Get there folks! read more

Well where to start, waited over half hour for our food. The pancake was cold, bacon was on the raw side, gravy had the consistency of soup. Had only one waitress so if you needed anything else good luck. When we told the waitress about it she got extremely belligerent and told she never had a complaint and for us to never come back. Good food for a good price and a friendly atmosphere. My friend and I went here for brunch today for the first time. The menu offers a good variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We both got omelettes with home fries and toast. They allow you to customize what you want on your omelette and I like that they offer Canadian bacon! I got the 3 egg omelette with cheese, spinach and Canadian bacon, English muffin and coffee. My bill including tax was $11. This place is awesome. It is clean and it is a quaint place. The food is awesome. I highly recommend the perch and perogies , this dish is awesome. The other dish I had was the chicken philly wrap and fries. Their fries are hand cut. That dish was excellent also. I will be going back. I ordered scrambled eggs bacon and pancakes. My eggs were as black and burnt as the box they came in and bacon was burnt and had no bacon taste left. Called to have them refund my money because I don't want inedible eggs again and it's been since 12/20/22 and nothing back on my card. Mind you I tipped the smart girl that looked at my food thought someone would actually eat that crap and packed it up with a nasty attitude. I can't believe I am the first one to post about this great addition to the wickliffe restaurant scene. Great food, great service, the burger and beer soup was delicious. The ranch dressing was great as it is made in house. Very clean, open kitchen. Staff was extremely friendly as we sat they kept filling up and by the time we were getting ready to leave they only had a couple empty tables. Great to see this restaurant doing so well. Need to come back for breakfast and try the crab Benedict it sounds great. read more

Stopped in today for lunch and ordered the 2 pc. Fish dinner with mashed and gravy. Dinner came out and 1 bite into each piece and they were raw. Showed the girl and she took my whole plate away, even my mashed. She comes back with 1 pc. Of fish on a coffee saucer. I ask her wheres my other fish and mashed and she looks at me like im stupid. And hands me a bill. I tell her i ordered a dinner not a side pc. Of fish. My lunchtime was over and i had to get back to work.$8.50 plus tax for 1 pc. Of fish. I'll NEVER go back and I'm sharing my experience with everyone. And by the way not 1 person wearing a mask. Cook and all. Gonna stop by city hall and let them know. Only the customers had masks. Been here many times and the food is great! My complaints are that once you receive your order , they never check back if you need refills on drinks, or to see if you need anything else. One cup of coffee is not enough, nor is one soft drink. The young blond waitress needs to get a personality and smile. We were there yesterday and once she set our food in front of us we never heard from her again until we had to ask her for our bill. Another customer had to come from the back dining room to ask for drink refills. After about 6 times, we won't be returning! End of story! read more

first time visit on 1-3-22 - the menu is a little misleading .. for the sandwiches I did not see that it said any came with a side offering (unless I missed it) .. so we ordered pretzel bites w/beer cheese as an appetizer .. not upset we got to pick a side when we ordered the sandwiches but we ended up bringing them home since we were filled from the pretzel bites (nice huge portion of those - tasty but we had to salt them - would awesome if they would add pretzel salt at service) and half of the large size sandwiches .. we will return to try other things we saw on the menu .. I had the patty melt w/cole slaw (1/2 of the sandwich and the slaw came home) .. husband had the chix parm w/side salad (that was a minor upcharge but he also took 1/2 of the sandwich and the salad home) .. considering the reasonable prices we got 2 meals each for that same price so no complaints here about that ! read more

In visiting my parents and met a friend for lunch here. What a great place! Fantastic fresh cooked food at great prices. My parents will be coming here a lot. Wish we had a Gateway diner in Dallas.
