The best burger in Cleveland like... hands down. This is a dive bar but man is the food there amazing. When you pull up it looks like a dive from the 1960's or a small Soviet bloc, not many windows and just a square little building, but you come inside and the people are inviting and friendly and the food is out of this world. I got the smash burger onion rings and some loaded tots and it was delicious. So I hate to have to post this, but the last few times have been very disappointing. We were just there on 7/26. It was good to see the owner on his hands and knees cleaning a cooler. The intention was to move the inventory around that was more convenient for the staff. That was a long time coming. The coolers were packed and never looked appealing. Not sure why our bartender had to ask about the change? We sat close to the door at the bar. Not sure where the occasional weed smell was coming from? It doesn't bother me, but others get offended by it. Maybe it's not good to have this odor while people are eating dinner? Does the staff look the other way on this? Not sure what our server's name was? We are not regulars. She seemed newer, but I did recognize the other. And when our server spoke loudly her voice was annoyingly squeaky, mini mouse like. She's where our problem begins. I ordered the hot dog special and asked if I could sub tater tots for fries. She said sure. When I received the check, I noticed a $3 upcharge for the tots and questioned it. Without even thinking about it she replied with this, "I told you there was a charge" and immediately disappeared from behind the bar. I asked my wife what she said when I gave my order. My wife's response was that she said "sure" and never said anything about an upcharge. She had all the signs of a habitual liar. No thought was put into her answer even though our initial conversation took place about 45 minutes earlier. Now to the restaurant. Fries and tater tots are the same price on the menu. The hot dog special comes with fries, so why is there a $3 upcharge? Fries are $7 and tots are $7. Again, why is there an upcharge when they are priced the same? The tots didn't come with Cleveland ketchup, so why? How many other customers are surprised by the $3 charge? Typically, hot dogs come with chopped onions, so I'm not sure why I had to pay .75 extra for a side of them? But I was also charged $1 for a side of mayo. Are you kidding me? A condiment has a price? It wasn't listed on your menu previously. I can't help but wonder. Since you guys claim to be a dive bar, wouldn't serving packets of mayo be more fitting? Now I know I could have taken all of this up with the owner, but a lying bartender would have defended herself and I wasn't in the mood. After thinking about this for a few days, I felt this was the best way to address it. When you nickel dime your customers, you are not a dive bar, you are cheap owners that only care about your finances and building more establishments. Now my only regret looking back was leaving about a 14% tip. I should not have left $3 and change. That way maybe the liar could think about the upcharge? Or is she even competent enough? Now on a previous evening, I ordered Cevapi. It wasn't very tasty and served on a pita. That isn't authentic Croation. I understand here in the USA, it might be acceptable. But when I can get it at Rose's in Eastlake on lipinja and the sausage has outstanding flavor, I think Crowley's could be a little more authentic to your heritage. Your heritage is displayed on the front of the building, isn't it? And your sausage did not have good flavor. Family of your ownership group asked me what I thought of the Cevapi. They didn't seem surprised when I told them and their response was that the sausage wasn't fresh, that's why the taste wasn't that good. Wait a minute, not fresh? Are you buying that much bulk that you can't provide fresh food for your customers? And the pita? Their was response to that was that some people serve it that way. I've been to the Eastlake Crowley's a few times and if you like biker bars with sleezy bar staff, that's the place for you. I went to Lake and that shouldn't be a good reason to support your businesses. I would be looking the other way. We have decided that we will never go back to any of your establishments in DTW, any of your so-called dive bars or your new venture in Irish cuisine. Irish? Ambiance - it's a dive bar like the name says, but a NICE dive bar. Lots of TVs and also scarves representing soccer teams. Burgers and fries were tasty and the service was good! We went at a slow time (noon on a Saturday), so we had table service. You might need to put in your orders at the bar during busier times. read more

We were in the mood for a good burger and we saw that this place had been voted "Best Burger in Cleveland!" So we figured we'd try it out! If we were not looking for this place specifically, I know we would've driven right past it! It's a standalone little building and the only markings I saw outside was a little sign that said BAR. But it was 2 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon and there were several cars in the parking lot, which is a good sign. The inside is really tiny. There's a large U-shaped bar and about six tables. We looked in the menu and opted for their famous Smashburger. It is $14 and comes with fries. It is a double patty cheeseburger. I did not want a burger that big so I opted for just one Patty. They said that was no problem, but the price was still the same. I also got onion rings, which were $3 more. The food came out really fast and you could tell it came right out of the fryer because the french fries were super hot! This place is called a dive bar, and I guess it is - but on a Saturday afternoon, the place was filled with all kinds of people. On one side of us was a family with little kids. On the other side of us was a couple in their 20s. And then the rest of the place was filled with people from every age group. I have to say that the music they play there is fabulous! But back to the food. The burger was seasoned really well! It is a smash burger, but they're still able to make it crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Our server was really good. She did not hover, but she was around to see if you need anything. Depending on the vibe that you're looking for, if you want more of a bar vibe, you should go in the evening, but we were happy to just be in a relaxed little joint with good food. They opened up another Crowley's in Painesville so we will probably have to try that one too. read more

It's a small place, not a lot of tables, and was loud. But, well worth it. Our waitress was super friendly and, since it was our 1st time there, strongly recommended the the kegs and the smash burger. So,... We started with the Irish Potato Kegs as an app. Real good. When we saw that they were rated number one for hamburgers we had to try it. This is a "dive bar" with amazing food. I don't even drink so I would never find myself in a bar. HOWEVER, this place is the exception. They are hands-down, my favorite hamburger and favorite wing location. Their mix of meats in their Smashburger is absolutely divine and I am a total fan of their lemon dry rub wings. Absolutely finger licking good. My family really like this place , I'm meh . I have been inside before but it's to small for me, I mean it's tiny bar that was originally designed to serve old men , shot and a beer. Now they have no take out wing nights to fill their 50 seats could be 60 but not much more than that and a parking lot that boasts no room in the inn. The only time I could get in there on wing night was when I went super early and I got two kinds of wings meaning to take my leftovers home and the waitress looked at me and said we were not allowed to take leftovers ( not all you can eat) home with us so I got only one extra order so my husband could try the other kind . That was the last time I ate in there as there was never any room after I got out of work . But anyway good luck to them I won't be back as this above is not worth it and they don't get back to customers that purchased over 75.00 that day. Oh well. We were kind of out in the country and looking for a place for lunch on a Saturday. This place came up for good food so we went. It sure was not much to look at from the outside but the lot was full so we took that as a good sign. It was listed as a "dive bar"...maybe I would call it upscale dive bar! Nothing fancy but clean and full of life and happy people. What more could you want?! We ordered smash burgers, chicken wings, and a fried bologna sandwich. All were fantastic. All I can say is Smash Burger!!! I like the style of food that comes out of this Irish pub. The fact that they use government cheese let's me know that they were a part of that era and have a different understanding. Lots of child comfort foods like Bologna sandwiches, hot dogs, etc. but outside of a burger I'm not paying for anybody's bologna sandwich LOL. I wanted to do Cleveland Burger Week with my boyfriend and we decided to come here. We were super happy to find this place. It was such a small and charming place. I loved that it had super chill vibe because I was wearing sweat pants lol. Of course, in the honor of burger week, we both got their smash burgers. Lucky for us, it was wing night so we both grab 2 orders of 10 wings. My boyfriend got bbq wings and I got Nashville hot honey wings. We were amazed of how fresh and crispy the wings were. The bbq sauce was tasty. The Nashville hot honey one was spicy but not to the point you would not be able to enjoy your wings. The sweetness of the honey went so well with the spiciness. I could not stop myself from eating them. Moving to the burger, it was delicious. There were 2 burger patties. I thought the cheese complimented so well with the patties. The burger was a bit wet though because of all the sauce. Nevertheless, the burgers were so good that we both inhaled them. We also got fries and they were yummy. Lemme tell ya, I went up to Crowley's Dive Bar in eastlake today to get a burger with my son and got their Mac Daddy. If anybody knows me, they know I am picky with how well someone does at something else I like (big Mac) and Crowley's NAILED IT !!! Fantastic Smash Burger, Mac Daddy with two all beef patty's special sauce lettuce cheese on a perfectly toasted bun. FANTASTIC BURGER and a MUST, to go have !!!
