Went here on a recommendation from my sister! And already can't wait to return to try some different waffles. I ended up getting the apple pie waffle while my other sister got the honey butter waffle. Both were wonderful, the only thing is if you get the apple pie waffle and like crispy waffles this isn't the one to get while wonderful the filling softens the waffle. The service was nice, we didn't need a lot of attention but they were attentive to every guest that I saw them with. The restaurant was super clean and we got lucky that there weren't a ton of people there. Long review short. As soon as I walked in the customers were friendly. We sat down and the hostess was very nice. We went there later in the afternoon so that may be the reason for the floor not being clean. There was food scattered under the tables. The utensils may not been rinsed well since it looked like it had a film on it. The coffee cups unfortunately did not look any better. The Belgian waffles were crisp and I personally like that. It was nothing out of this world. I'm grateful for the people who work there and I hope they work on turning things around. read more

What a nice surprise. I had never been here before but went with my son and his friend's family. We had a nice assortment of breakfast items from waffles to eggs Benedict. We did a short wait about 10minutes to get seated -- it was Sunday morning around 10:30. After being seated the waitress was prompt with asking for our beverage order and bringing them to the table. I've been passing the signs for years and thought I'd stop in. Wow, glad I did. The staff is friendly, the host does so much and remains calm. My sever Janie F was pleasant and efficient. The menu offers extensive options for breakfast, with more types of waffles than I knew existed, equally diverse offerings in the pancake realm and omelet options too. There's a limited lunch menu but breakfast is offered all day. Mom opted for a standard waffle with butter and maple syrup. They don't skimp on the syrup with a large container of her dreams on the table. I opted for a weekly special, a cinnamon roll waffle. Have to admit I was scared, thinking this would be sugar overload but they struck an appropriate balance and the waffle was stellar with undertones of vanilla, bits of crispyness and a light and airy touch. The cinnamon and icing were fresh and good. Forgot to mention I ordered a side of bacon for $2. It came not with 2, not with 3 but with 5 slices of bacon. Now that's value. read more

It was my first time at Wally Waffle, but it won't be my last. The service provided by Taquoiya "Tiny" J was exceptional. She patiently went through the menu with us and answered every question we had. Tiny was pleasant, kind, and very well put together. The dining area was clean, and the eating and drinking utensils were decent. However, the booth walls and mirrors could use a wipe-down; it seemed like some children had enjoyed touching them while eating! The food was good, and the prices were reasonable. Wally Waffle is definitely a go to place when your looking for waffles for breakfast. The waffles are cooked well and the different types of waffles they offer is great. The food is fresh, and the service is good. We tried the Apple Pie and the Patriot waffles. We did take out, do the waffles had a bit less of a crunch on them, but they still tasted really good when we got them home. There was definitely a line to eat in the restaurant, but it wasn't overwhelming. The waiting area is a bit small, but there are plenty of places to eat inside. This was our (boyfriend and I) first time visiting. I just want to start out that, from the outside of the plaza it looks like it would be small. Walking in felt like walking into the TARDIS from Doctor Who! Spacious for sure! I don't remember the girl's name that served us but she was nice and sweet. I ordered a Cinnamon Roll Waffle with scrambled eggs and Wally fries on the side. My boyfriend ordered two meals to try out the food. He ordered The Patriot waffle which had blueberries, bananas and strawberries with whip cream and came with a cute little flag on the top! He also got a country fried steak with eggs over easy, Wally fries and grits. He wanted to add that the grits were a little watery. We also ordered some sweet teas which weren't overly sweet, thankfully. Aside from the grits, everything was terrific! I have been to the original Highland Square location and love the restaurant itself. I hadn't visited since I don't live as close as I do to this new location but the restaurant works okay for the experience. My only regret is that I should have gotten a waffle! Neither the person I came with or myself got a waffle. However the Eggs Benedict was decent, the sauce itself was a little more salty than I prefer, but the ham and egg were pretty good. The hash browns were delicious, super crispy but balanced. The staff was friendly and quick, the dining area was clean. Our experience was good especially good for those who prefer to sit and enjoy the quietness and privacy rather than the highland square location, I hope to come back and get a waffle next time! read more

I wasn't disappointed with the food, fresh whipped cream and strawberry-covered waffles with the best cup of coffee in town. The service was a little slow, however, considering they weren't that busy, I'm not sure why service was slow. Update: if they're busy and you're handicapped, be prepared to walk a bit. They do t have handicap parking close. Also, they offer outside seating, but the patio chairs are not comfortable if you have back issues or need support. read more

Went there for brunch this past week. Food and service was top notch- I had the chicken wings and waffle and ate part of my wife's bacon side. It was amazing!!!!!! Now for the bad news: The floors were sticky and dirty, the mirrors above the booths had finger prints smeared all over them. Bathrooms were dirty and gross. The place needs cleaned badly. Even the walls need painted. This is a total manager issue. We might try it again in a few weeks to see if it was just a bad day. But if they don't clean the place they may not last long in Montrose- too many other choices. read more

Wally Waffle is one of our favorite places to go, but you will have a crowd if you go during normal breakfast hours. We waited about 30 minutes for a table and then our waitress was also serving a table of 6 next to us so it took over 5 minutes for her to even ask us if we wanted coffee. If you aren't in a hurry, then the food is usually well worth it. I almost always get the Better Day waffle which is not only delicious but also healthy. However, this time is was way over done and not as tasty. My husband gets something different every time (never waffles) and always loves his meal. New location, but same endearing food. I went to the location in Wallhaven when I was a kid, but I only recently moved back with a family of my own. The spot in Montrose is smaller than the original location (although the outdoor seating area is nicer), but the food and good service is exactly how I remember it. Even on a Saturday morning, we were able to be seated right away and our waiter (Mike) was on top of things throughout our entire meal. I think my 5 year ate 12 pieces of bacon by himself and housed his Wally Fries so fast I'm not sure he actually had a chance to taste them. I'll bring my other kids back here soon. The food at the Montrose location reminds me of the days of the Wallhaven location! I've visited the Montrose location 3 times in the past month. Which is a lot because I have been within walking distance to the one in Highland Square since it opened and probably have visited that one 5-7 times. The food at Montrose has been perfectly cooked and full of flavor! I love breakfast food, so I am in heaven! I either get the Big Daddy or the Wally Classic. The pancakes are perfect size and just the right amount a vanilla. The chicken wings served with the chicken and waffles are AMAZING!
