They do shoddy work and when you ask them why your backyard that cost you over 50k was left half finished, they say they're short staffed and then ghost you. DO NOT waste your time or money. It doesn't get any worse when your best friends brother took advantage and a lot of money and left us with cracked plaster, they unplugged all of my yard lights and left my home dark at my vacation home, trampled plants, lost keys to our gate, dirty conditions, installed the WRONG COLOR PLASTER especially after their sales crew told me not to choose dark because of modeling, ordered the wrong light and then sent me a bill which I refused, Connie trying to get progress payments for work completed that wasn't done and so much more. If you need to see photos, emails and text messages I am happy to forward. They had their pool man maintain our pool for the weeks that followed telling us our pool would change and they had to maintain the water. Their pool maintenance guy showed up without any pool equipment and asked to borrow ours! When they turned over our pool to us they tried to blame the water in La Quinta and took water samples as if it's his first time working in the area. Clearly your company who had maintained the pool for weeks after the construction should have known the water conditions were off. Never heard from him again. Met with a lawyer to handle the case and it cost as much as just redoing the pool. Small claims is your only option to go after this crook!! You will still take a bath. I should have known this was going to be a bad experience when you catch their employee peeing on your house the first day! Yes they apologized gave 2 months free pool service only for a one month later it happen again! 2nd problem. I request an estimate for concrete. I have text messages with photos outlining where I want it. They give me the estimate, great add it to my contract. I noticed during construction my concrete is less on one side. Sorry we measured wrong its 325 if you want more. Ok I pay out of pocket because my loan was already finalized. Days later I notice the other side is short too. They said sorry that's 650 extra for the concrete. I put my foot down and said no! I asked for a quote, its not my fault you quoted wrong. They apologized and did it for no extra charge. I should have asked for my 325 back but forgot at the time 3rd issue. We noticed our pool light is sticking out. The guy came out and said the hole was not drilled big enough that's why it doesnt fit. They had to drain the pool to fix the hole. I thought so the guy new it didnt fit but was being lazy to redue the hole so just left it sticking out and who cares?? 4th problem. I get the call end of June. Your pool is ready. The first day we notice our spillway is not working. I report it. Till this day it is not fixed!!! They have made countless visits, it's the tile, no it's the valve or we found it working. They once even accused us of doing it that we must have touched something! The nerve, I have cameras showing their employee touching the pool equipment. Any excuse not to fix it. In January they sent a guy out to talk to me and he was so extremely rude with such a bad attitude basically just trying to make me go away saying all your equipment is fine. I turn my pool on and show my spillway not working and say then explain that to me. I've been patient even waiting 2 months for someone to come out. They keep saying I'll send someone but no one ever comes I spent lots of money on my pool loan plus interest and till this day almost a year later and my spillway not to work from day one. I have saved all the emails I have sent, all text messages, video footage, phone calls, pictures and voicemails. I'm currently consulting with different lawyers on what next step i should take. First off - I called to talk to someone about coming out to give us a quote on a pool and backyard design ideas. They told me it takes about 7 days to get someone to respond to you to just make an appointment. I put my name and number in and over a week later still had not had not received a call to just set up an appointment. I called the office & they had taken my info down incorrectly. And said "oh but we did try to contact you, we just had the wrong info". Umm yeah from the info your office person took down incorrectly. I was finally able to set up an appointment with a sales person for a Wednesday morning. I get a call today saying they need to reschedule & that all the guys are really busy. I'm sorry if I'm having trouble just getting someone out here to give me a quote what's going to happen when they are in the middle of my project and just don't show up and then tell me sorry we are just really busy. in reading everyone's comments, i agree with many of them, especially the one who said they found an employee peeing in their yard. I too walked out of my garage to see employees peeing next to my shed, on two separate occasions. I do find it funny that the owner only replies to favorable comments with, "it was great working with you, pool looks great. Enjoy" Yet he does not reply to one negative comment. Gerald, I just retired after 40 years in Customer Service for a major Utility. I think it would serve your business good to speak with every customer when a pool is done, asking What did we do right? What did we do wong? How can we do better? My pool looks great and we really enjoy it. Their have been bumps along the way though. The Salesman Mike was fantastic. Office people when I call are responsive and helpful. My issues are: 1. I have had 3 Superintendents, when I call them they say, "I am no longer running your job" 2. I caught employees on two separate occasions peeing in my yard. 3. An employee borrowed my tape measure and walked off with it. 4. The guys who built small planter placed the top caps upside down. This after they had to tear out what they started days before since they did not lay the first course of block low enough. They are not masons for sure. 5. The decks drains are not in the low spots on deck. 6. And the kicker, the two guys installing the alarms in house and garage doors, they helped themselves to two beers out of my fridge in garage. They left the empty bottles in a small bucket in garage. That is no bueno and I was pretty pissed off. What else did they help themselves to? Did they take any tools from my tool chest? It also means your employee was driving your Company vehicle after drinking beer. Still waiting for a few final items to be corrected, like the deck drains, and caps on drains going to front yard. Been 3 weeks so far and still waiting. I would sure welcome a call from you Gerald to discuss what you can do better to be the best pool Company out there and how I can get these items complete. With every project your bound to run into problems. The test of a good company and a great company is the final product. Which is what counts the most at the end of the day. We hired Vacation Pools after getting a few estimates and considering doing the project on my own as I have some experience in a variety of specialty trades. Vacation pools Mike came over, he is a really nice gentleman. We explained to him what we wanted and and what our budget was. At the time we booked it was there slower season which would mean we would get a great deal but would run into rain issues in Lake Elsinore. Mike had the best design out of all the companies. The company was not the cheapest. But you get what you pay for. The process start to finish was about 6 months but slow downs based on weather and other avoidable issues, however nothing Gerald(owner) and I could not come to an amicable resolution on. I would recommend and have recommended Vacation Pools Mike(estimator) , Zeke(foreman), Gerald(owner), Connie(receptionist) , Tony(service tech), and the entire crew. Disgruntled son here, I wasnt going to post but im sick and tired of people not doing the job they promised to do. Its disheartening and frustrating to see customers get taken advantage of. Long story short, my mom hired Vacation Pools to replaster her pool and jacuzzi, do new jacuzzi tile, Install pavers and build a retaining wall 2.5 years ago and here we are (see pictures). This grey film that was promised to last 5 years lasted maybe 1 year. Apparently $49,000 wasnt enough for Gerald, Zeke and the crew to do quality work. This is absolutely shameful. Where is the pride in the craftsmanship? And then have the audacity to offer to come fix film for an additional $5,000.... are you delusional? The pool plaster and retaining wall came out good but the rest... eek! Be sure to document every request word for word. Think twice before giving vacation pools your business. read more

So now that it has been just over a year, I can see how customers are treated when everything is done. Their support after the pool is done is abysmal. Takes a lot of repeated calls to get anything done that is under warranty. Once the job is finished it's a nightmare getting support. Multiple phone calls go ignored until being polite wears off. They might decide to help you if you lose your patience and constantly remind them. I would definitely look for a builder who stands behind their product, the salesman will give you a great pitch, but once they have all your money good luck getting them to honor the warranty you hear so much about in the beginning. DO NOT PURCHASE THE SMART SYSTEM UPGRADE THEY OFFER! It is severely lacking, constantly crashes, or just fails to work. $2000 waste of money. Tons of negative reviews about this system, 2.0 rating on the app store. Even their own tech support says the app is horrible, rarely works. And is asking where the remote is for the system (surprise, they never provided one). read more

This past weekend was our first weekend being able to use the pool! And what a great weekend! The finest finish on the bottom is soooo amazing it is definitely the way to go! It is so smooth and easy on the feet! I prefer this to our friends pool that has pebble! Pebble is hard on the feet! Saturday night we had a horrible wind storm come through and our pool got so much dirt in it and luckily I purchased the vacuum and hose and I'm glad I did! Low expense and it works wonders! Was able to vacuum all dirt out with ease! Definitely recommend buying the vacuum! I also want to add how friendly everyone of Gerald's staff is! Just great people! Well where do I begin. Yes I was pleased at the promptness in getting the pool finished. However, they left a huge mess. My side yard where they came thru was all red brick which was torn to shreds. I had to tear the rest up because totally unable to repair it. Then they left all the pieces of wood they used as the form when the poured the concrete. There are several cracks in the concrete and on the edge of the pool pieces actually fell off. They came out to look almost a year ago and stated that they would fix it but needed to wait until someone else's pool decking was the same color as mine so they could use the leftovers from that. No one has come as of yet, I called several times to get it fixed. The decking is brown colored because I though it would look nice, but was not told that there might be an issue of the concrete not curing right and it is totally discolored. Large spots that don't match. I have been soooo patient but no one has still contacted me. So I finally called the office,again, but this time to talk with the owner. It has been three days and no return call from him. Totally unacceptable to ignore a customer who has been SO patient. Not a happy customer at all. Maybe Gerald will call me now. read more

Last Friday my pool pump, which was only 4 years old died. I called 4 Hayward approved repair companies. No returned calls until I called Vacation Pools on the next Monday morning. They had Tony come out that afternoon, we determined the need for a new pump and they installed it the next day. They have followed up three times now to ensure that everything was working okay. From their office staff to their repair and installers, they are the best pool company in the Coachella Valley. The installation was perfect and they cleaned up after their work but most importantly, they stayed and then returned to ensure everything was working to my satisfaction. We used Vacation Pools for six months on our house in Palm Springs before we decided to terminate service. Everyone sounds so nice but they really don't care about their customers. Asked them four times between in-person & over email to clean the filter. They never did. We have a saltwater pool & found out the pool guy was pouring chlorine into the pool. When I called to find out why the customer service rep told me on the phone that in the hot summer months they need to. That didn't sound right to me so I emailed a few days later as a follow up only to get a response that they had sent me an invoice of $995 to fix the salt cell a month prior. What??? Why wasn't this mentioned when I called on the phone? Looked through every email from them & there was nothing. I asked for the "report" that they said the pool guy did the month before showing there was an issue. They wouldn't send it to me. Why? What ethical company denies sending a report of what's wrong with an estimate for $995? So our pool equipment was not working for a month & no one told us until I pushed the issue. Our pool is now a mess with high levels of salt etc. At no point did the pool guy ever mention to me there was an issue & no one bothered to call us. Now we have to drain our pool and start over.
