The best of the best. The pool process started in November with bids on a demo and to build a new pool. You see wonderful billboards and advertisement of companies claiming to the best. I assure you they are not. From Tessera (pretty billboards and that is it!), Azure, Rembrandt, Premier, and others, it varied from constant follow-ups, overpriced (some by $20,000), wrong designs from what we planned, and poor communications. At the point of giving up, we saw Desert Luxury Pools truck driving on the road in April, and decided one more chance to see who can get it right. Dan came over and listened to the design we wanted, and gave some recommendations to make it even better. His attitude was, "100% yes can", and we will work with the HOA and Riverside County with no problems. I thought he was pulling my leg because everyone else seemed to have some issues with the HOA or County, some stating it could take months to get approved. Within a week, Dan's design was ready, and said if all is good, lets move forward with demo. Pete and Dan both design and build the pools, and we asked if they will be able to build this within 3 months because everyone was saying HOAs and the county take so long. They know the guidelines in advance and stay within what is expected and it should go through smoothly. I thought they were kidding. As soon as we signed, everything went so smoothly, it was unbelievable. Within 2 weeks working with the HOA , it was approved; the county had a couple of questions, and withing 2 weeks they were ready to go. Whenever we had a question, they would respond within minutes NOT DAYS OR WEEKS. We never, ever had to follow-up with questions because they would always answer right away. Here we are 3 months later swimming in our beautiful pool. A few special mentions to their amazing staff; Rome is a work horse and a pleasant guy who gets in and gets it done. He never once complained about doing the work, and was very respectful of your property. Jared is another guy who got the plumbing and electric up and working, while giving recommendations on placement that worked awesome for us. Sandy in the office worked behind the scenes making the magic with the orders and paperwork for county and HOA. Pete the owner is very involved and always coming on site checking the work and communicating with us. The contracted team they had doing the work were amazing, and sorry we don't recall all their names, but they all worked hard and quick. You can take my advice, and just skip to the front of the line with Desert Luxury Pools, or go through many calls, no replies, over-priced estimates, poor customer service, wrong designs, and attitude trying to find another pool construction company, and be disappointed. Their price was better than the others and never, ever gave an issue with the design. They are the type of company and people that if you dream it, they will make it possible without nickel and diming you to death. Their communications are spot on by always letting you know what is going on that week, and respond to any questions or concerns. I had a very positive experience with Desert Luxury on the construction of my new pool. It took me a long time to decide who to go with. After recommendations from friends and neighbors, and interviews with several companies, I knew I had still not found my contractor. Then I read reviews on Google and Yelp and found Desert Luxury and asked them to come by. Dan showed up and we spent a couple of hours talking about all sorts of things related to the pool business, and I decided to ask him to help refine the design and provide a price. I knew from all the research I had done what the market price was for a pool of the size I wanted, and their price was right on target. At this point, Pete took charge and ran the project and communicated each step of the way what would be happening and when. From that point on it was smooth sailing all the way through the final inspection by the city. I expected a number of problems and delays to pop up, but the only issue that slowed the work was the amount of hand digging required to deal with all the rocks in the soil. This has been, by far, the worst pool company I've ever worked with. Both the office staff and the owner, Pete, have been unprofessional in their communication and follow-through. Over the past few months, I've experienced ongoing pool and spa issues that were not properly addressed. My pool frequently did not have enough chlorine, the baskets were not being emptied consistently, and overall maintenance was not performed to the standard I expected. As a result, I've had more problems in a short period than I've ever had before. I'm extremely disappointed with the level of service and would not recommend this company based on my experience. read more

I have lived in Indio since 2006, our pool was put in in 2007. Since that time we have had at least 10 different "pool services", starting with an employee of the company that installed the pool. The last guy just stopped showing up. When I found Pete from Desert Luxury, I called him (he answered off hours) and they have been servicing my pool for approx a year and a half. Prior to finding DLP, some of the actual "companies" I had were consistently changing my technician and the days of the week without any notice. They simply cleaned the pool, and added some chemicals to my salt water pool, went months without filter changes, etc. I was always concerned that the equipment wasn't being monitored. That is not the experience I've had with Desert Luxury Pools. I can't say enough about my technician Jamie. He texts when he's on his way, he's very thorough and friendly. In gardener speak, DLP is NOT a "Blow and Go" company. The photos and details of the report they sent post visit are very useful. Sandy, who works the front, is so nice and always efficient. I had a problem with my payments (my fault) and she worked through it with me. It was just a mistake on my part, and putting my account on auto pay took care of that for good. Of course I hope nothing serious goes wrong with my pool but I know that if it does, I can count on DLP to be competent, trustworthy and fair. I must add that my first technician, Oscar, was great as well - and I was notified before they made the change due to routing.
