Jaden from Pool Technicians came out today to look at two issues I was having with my pool: 1)…read more the lack of any pressure from the jets in the adjacent hot tub and 2) a salt cell chlorinator that was not working. I thought both were going to be major issues. I thought I needed an additional pump for the hot tub. And I thought the salt cell chlorinator would need at least a new motherboard, if not a complete replacement. Jaden did about 10 minutes of poking around and told me that 1) the pump issue was simply being caused by a rock that was jammed into one of the pumps, likely from the construction stage and 2) the salt cell was not receiving power because a previous (another company) technicians rewired it to a non-functional part of my panel. So, after an hour, I had fully functioning jets in the hot tub. A functional salt cell. And he even got my pool lights working. (I had never been able to use them and had given it up). So can't recommend this company and Jaden specifically any more highly.

He listened to our many questions with patience and always responded with clear answers. The quote received was very reasonable, and the work began promptly and was finished in the timeline promised. Thomas came by daily to review the work, as well as touch base with us in person to keep us informed of the process and what the next day's work would be. They had a good size crew to ensure the work was finished on time . When the first coping color we selected didn't turn out as we expected, they redid the coping in a different two-tone color and texture that we preferred, and at no additional charge. Thomas even sent out his color expert to help with this final color application. Both the steps and pool coping turned out beautifully. Thomas and his team were a pleasure to work with and we would readily consider Splash Pool & Design again for future pool and spa work. At the end of the day, it was clear that our satisfaction with their work really mattered.

We are so pleased w/ the appearance! He also transformed our old landscaping in the backyard to a drought tolerant scape, removing 20 year old hedges & a less than healthy lawn. We chose the color of small rocks & plants, picking out the area where they should be placed. Then Steve's crew, did everything that we asked. Our only problem throughout the transformation was that somehow, the tile place ordered the wrong color tile for our pool. Unfortunately, it was installed, but we came from out of town & caught the error in time. Steve was notified, & he immediately had it removed & had the correct tile installed. James Zukowski (I believe he's one of the owners) came out and did the inspection. I was pleased with him and the inspection he did. We discussed having JJ&B do the necessary repairs and also providing the regular ongoing maintenance to the pool but we never finalized anything; I expected James to contact me later with pricing and other details. A few weeks went by and I hadn't heard back from James so I sent him an email; he never responded. I then called and left a voice mail; he never responded. Needless to say, I found another company to handle things for me. Why a 1-Star rating? The lack of communication is one thing, but today I received an invoice for $330 for two months of pool service. JJ&B never provided any service -- in fact, the pool has been drained for weeks now. Any company with the audacity to bill a person for service not rendered is not worth dealing with. Maybe it's not audacity in this case; maybe it's just plain laziness, lack of professionalism, and stupidity. In any case, I'd stay clear of these people!
