This is the new V Nails location, next to Forza Coffee in Westgate Center. I stopped in because I had been to their Pacific location and was impressed. The new location is very large and comfortable, with probably ten pedicure chairs and five or six manicure stations. They also have a small room for waxing. I went in to get a manicure and while I was choosing my color, the technician asked me if I wanted a pedicure as well, which they could do at the same time. I said sure, and they set me up. Both of my technicians did a nice job and were very kind. The owner of V Nails was present and occasionally shouted at me from down the room about different specials they were promoting. Nice of her to give me the information, but seemed a little unnecessary. She similarly hassled the two other customers who came in the door - she was attempting to up-sell but we all seemed to know what we want without needing her suggestions. The only other thing I would say is that since they just opened, there were a lot of banners out front offering different specials and promotions, but most of them had expired by the time I got there. read more

I moved from Federal Way and needed a new person that is an expert in waxing eyebrows! I've been told I have difficult brows to deal with... So I decided to grow my brows out for awhile. My coworker recommended Lani at V Nails. I went in on a Saturday morning. Lani is super nice and loves doing brows! She says it is her favorite thing to do at the shop! I have gone here a dozen times for fills but I have only done 2 pedi here. Both times I have had problems! I now have athletes foot and an ingrown toenail after my last pedicure. This is horrible! She was rounding my nails which your not suppose to do and I can hardly walk right now because my toe is so infected. I also saw this week that they have been fined for unsanitary conditions twice in the past 6 mos. I just moved to Washington and I was searching and reading reviews, and all the places near me in Renton, WA had horrible reviews or the pictures posted were NOT up to my standards. My cousin and Aunt both go to V Nails in Tacoma, WA. So I drove down and my Aunt and I both did a Walk-In (no appointment) to V Nails. We were both individually greeted at the door and we sat on the couch for less than 5 minutes before we were shown to a chair next to each other for our Shellac manicures. My nail tech was Jessie. She was such a sweetheart! She started a very easy, friendly conversation with me, and we discussed color options together. She did a great job on my nails that I wrecked with my move. The Shellac was applied correctly, no bubbles. Plus my hand massage was just the right amount pressure to relieve my sore arms. I will drive 45 minutes back to V Nails in 2 weeks! read more

Today I went in for a pedicure, and was talked into the deluxe. I chose the cumber option because I am allergic to lavender, and warned them several times, but the wax at the end is lavender (sign advertises cucumber paraffin). They stuck my feet in the wax anyways. Also, I had to wash my feet/clean the wax off myself AND they still charged me full price for my pedicure. It is not about the money, but they could have handled the possible allergic reaction breakout better and not made me feel guilty for being upset, asking me to pay less for a situation they created would have been the least they could have done. Also, the woman quit doing my toes at the end. I will not be returning. read more

I won't go to v nails again. Multiple times we have been told "come back in 15 minutes" and then we sit there for 45 minutes. The pedicure quality changes depending on time of day and who you get, and often they are rushing and it isn't good. If they are busy, they should say "we can't take anybody for another hour", not "come back in 15 minutes." They are rude when told the wait time was very long. read more

They were very busy and I waited like 45 mins past my appointment time. Had two techs. They did an overall good job just a couple things I didn't like. 1. I do not like fake nails but one of mine broke so I have one acrylic nail and she did not file it down so it was very thick and uneven underneath. I am a perfectionist and its going to suck looking at that all the time for two weeks. 2. They didn't give me a hand massage with lotion afterwards which is part of a manicure that I paid for.. 3. No call. I called this morning and spoke with a woman who spoke very little english. She asked me to call back after noon. It is now 2:30pm and I have called three times, no answer?? Holly, V, and everyone here was so nice and helpful for our first time going to V Nails! My mom and I both wanted special designs we'd seen online and they did exactly what we showed them! We showed up right at 9 to make sure we could be seen- which was a good idea because the people keep rolling in. They didn't turn anyone away and had plenty of staff to accommodate everyone but it's probably a good idea to call ahead. The location and atmosphere both make me happy. The ladies great everyone and are especially welcome to regulars. I really respect and appreciate their attention to are with some of their elderly customers.. I have been coming here since this location opened and have witnessed the authentic nature they have. For me personally, I am SUPER picky and ridiculous about how my nails look. So for no other salon in Tacoma has made me as happy with the quality of work and or the customer service if I have had a concern. I get the standard pedi mostly and the gel shelac mani. I work in a professional environment and it's important that I look my best at all times. Because this's is a popular location I try to strategically plan my pop ins. I know that a couple days before holidays I will have to wait.. And I noticed a pattern that mid morning and a couple hours before dinner it's usually packed so I avoid those times. read more

Never coming back here. Came in for a fill and a pedicure. They messed up on my nails three times and after the third attempt I said I was done. I wanted to leave. I approach the front to pay and they try to charge me $80. When I explained I was unhappy with my experience and she messed up three times and wanted my own time they took $5 off..... this place is cheap, unprofessional and terrible quality. read more

I went there last Friday for my first time due to all the recommendations from the Nextdoor app. The first girl (Trina) didn't understand how I wanted my nails shaped (square/oval, I was told later that they call it square/round now). By the time she was done, I had a cut on my finger from her aggressive filing and my nails were too short to get the French tip nails that I wanted. So I got a regular mani/pedi. It took them two hours. They should have given me a discount at least. The manager, Cindy was nice and told me she would do my nails next time but my experience tells me if you're not having fake nails put on, you don't get the experienced people. The best place I've found in the Tacoma area for manicures and pedicures. Their basic pedicure includes a hot stone massage for your legs. They are a little pricier, but it's definitely worth it, and it's not too much higher than regular places (only about $5 more). My least favorite part is the parking lot. Since they are in between a coffee shop and urgent care, the lot is always packed and if you have a non-compact car, prepare to park over by Joseppi's just to get a little wiggle room. ***UPDATE*** After moving several times through Pierce County throughout the years, this is still the best nail salon I've found. I will willingly drive from Bonney Lake to the north end of Tacoma to get a great manicure/pedicure where I know it's sanitary, friendly, and the cost is not outrageous. read more

I had gone to this salon for years with my mom and never had any issues, I always got what I wanted. Recently, they seem very money greedy once they started overcharging/adding extra fees. One tech in particular, Nicki, was doing a bad job on my nails and charging me extra fees without telling the owner, whom I know personally. I told the owner this and she should have fired the tech immediately but that was not done. The last two times I went are why I chose to never go back again, I got a pedicure both times and both times they cut my feet with the filer other tools they had to the point where they were bleeding as well as cutting my nails down so short that they were bleeding. I told the owner and all she did was give me their "punchcard" where if you go 10 times, get 10 signatures, you can get 10% off, to which she gave me only 6 signatures for the inconvenience of cutting my feet and making my toenails bleed. I still would've had to go back 4 times to only get 10% off. Not okay, do better V nails. I will never be back. read more

Nice decor and ambiance. Surprisingly I left with a manicure I liked. Usually I have to ask for things to be fixed but here everything was to my liking. Asked for a snowflake design since I was feeling festive. There wasn't much to the manicure felt like they basically painted my nails and it cost $40?! Not sure how I feel about spending so much on a simple manicure using my real nails. Very happy with my shellac manicure today (see picture.) They did a careful and diligent job on my nails and got my request for a particular kind of flower just right. All the women were pleasant company and fun to be around. It's not as cheap as other salons (french tip manicure with flower on two different nails was $40), but you do get what you pay for and today was a lovely treat to myself.
