You will never been in there with more than them and their clients. The counter is long enough for perfect social distancing. In addition to requiring masks, there is a plexi partition between you and your tech. They sanitize everything between appointments. They check your temperature before you're allowed to come in. This place never changed. Outstanding as before. Service is still great and ladies are still kind. Matter of fact, they've added a new team mate named Sara, but she only specializes in lashes. So if you're ever in getting your nails done, please check out simply lashes by Sara. I've been coming here ever since they were first opened and also the previous shop location. My husband and I have been going here for just over a year. The conversation was always great and we loved having that individual care. This place is spotless, even now they have kept up with all the Covid protocols and clean everything right before and after use. We definitely recommend it! You do have to schedule an appointment in advance but that was never an issue for us. We were always able to get a 2 person mani/pedi scheduled within 2 weeks. We knew it would be a nice self-care date and so we always looked forward to it. Wow. The five star reviews shouldn't come to a shocker to anyone's who has stepped foot in this place. This is the happiest I've been with a pedicure since I've been back in the states. As you can tell from the pictures, this place isn't like any other you'll find in Tacoma. The set up is nice. I mean, niiiiiicccceeee. Chairs are comfortable and the environment is clean. I do like the massage chairs but I feel like the time and effort she puts in for a massage evens it all out anyways. There are several different options for manicures and pedicures and they offer your standard stuff like waxing and gel, etc. I got an upgraded pedicure because I had sore muscles and the product made my skin feel amazingly soft and rejuvenated. The pedicure, itself, was on point. Smooth skin, smooth nails and great color. Visey is really easy to talk to and you can tell she keeps her customer's best interest at heart. I laugh. I learn pop culture. I'm challenged. Yes, I'm talking about the Nail Bar!!! Let me clarify, yes, you need an appointment. No, you will not likely get a walk in appointment. Sure, there may be pros and cons to having to make a reservation, but like many of you, I'm extremely busy. Thus, I appreciate that I know when I'll be serviced, and what time I'll be leaving. No more being left with foil on your hands and your feet left soaking as they prune so that the shop can fit in as many clients in at the same time as you. I'm not knocking the hustle, it just isn't the best structure for the way my time is set up. Speaking of things you should know--I'm particular. I'm not into beauty products. If I can get away with a bun, I will. If I can wear a sports bra under my work blouse and blazer, that's what I'll be doing. Both Nars and Visey really clean my cuticles, and shape my nails, and all the sudden, I can't stop looking at my nails, and I'm like, "so pretty." I wash my hands ALOT, and my polish doesn't fade or chip. No hang nails! I mean, I'm practically a hand model at this point (that might be a slight exaggeration). But most of all, I have a stressful job. Like I gotta keep bail money aside stressful. And NARS and Visey always help me to leave my day at the door. They're talented. They're funny. They're knowledgeable, they teach me, and they challenge me. I'm really a clear nail kind of gal, but they pushed me to try colors, and I'VE LIKED IT. You can under appreciate the amount of social emotional intelligence they bring into their jobs, but they knew just how much color to challenge, how to get me to progress, but also how to let me go back to my clear polish without hesitation. I'm literally in nail therapy, LOL. Sounds trite, but generally, I'm trying to express how much I value the two ladies and this place. They also know that I missed a lot of the movies in the '80's. And I don't get to watch anything, in general. They usually pop in a good movie, keep me abreast of pop culture knowledge, or have a great playlist going and allow me to sing as off key or out of pocket as I want. The shop is always decorated parallel to the holiday, and the ladies match and dress up with BIG fun. Additionally, I've always enjoyed the other customer. Their customers are light-hearted and friendly, and that's a direct reflection of them. I don't expect them to, but they not only take care of my nails, but they take care of me. Let's just say that this year the place was much, much further away from the place we stayed at, but we would have in a second travelled twice as far The team of amazing ladies here - honestly I don't know how I can put it into words. I have really bad ingrown toenails, and last year after leaving the nail salon I was finally relieved of the agonizing pain I have on a day to day basis. So much that I was determined I was going to go back every few months. So I did just that, a few months later I booked a couples mani and pedi that cost over twice as much at what was supposed to be a TOP END establishment locally. Well, guess what? IT SUCKED. My wife and I had different people and we both agreed that it didn't even come within a mile of the quality we had at Visey's, which while great to know how much we love them, they've ruined EVER going back to a local salon. We will be going here each and every year we end up in Tacoma. Oh, and while I didn't end up with nail polish, my wife did and the quality is top notch. No bubbles, which seems to be a constant issue with gel polish at other salons, and her toenail polish is solid as can be. And man you'll love conversation. I've been going to Visey's regularly for almost 2 years now, and I keep going because it's such an enjoyable experience. It's like my therapy. Visey and Nars focus on providing an inviting and familiar experience, in addition to a fly nail job. When you sit at the bar, you see above the wall of polishes a decal that declares, "What happens at the Nail Bar stays at the Nail Bar." Since there are only two people working, there is only one other person being worked on. The feeling is quiet and intimate. There's always a different type of music playing, and the playlists are relaxing and upbeat. They understand how to manage time to seconds, so if you have gel on, they immediately start soaking. They scuff the top coat only just enough and put the foils on. They always take the time to soak the polish off completely to preserve the nail. They NEVER grind off all the polish with a tool to jump straight to prepping. Visey's Nail Bar specializes in long-term natural nail care. If you're looking for long-term length that you plan to maintain, I can't recommend these ladies enough. I choose to keep my nails shorter now, but the first year I went to Visey I nearly doubled the length of my natural nail under her care. My nails are as healthy now as they were when I started (maybe more), because of her expertise. Visey is great at turning my ideas for nails into reality. I usually bring a picture, but I always want it a little different. She makes sure she knows what I have in mind before she starts painting. She suggests the best colors, always has new shades coming in, and has a huge collection of sparkle polish. She never tries to sell anything that doesn't last, but she has rhinestones and studs in case customers insist. She lets you know what you're getting up front. Make an appointment! I didn't know a simple color change could make such a HUGE difference but it did and I was ready for my actual fill:) The shop is super cute, it is small and there is only 2 of them so appointments are better to have than to just walk in, also be very specific as only Visey does acrylic nails. I had my nails done here about a month ago for my wedding. The gel manicure lasted over two weeks. It barely chipped at all, and the only reason I removed it was because my nails were growing out. She explained to me that the design I wanted for my nails wasn't practical because the gold stripes would peel off too quickly. I appreciated her honest advice. Hands down the BEST nail salon in Tacoma (and surrounding areas ;))!!! Having just moved here from New York City, I struggled to find a salon that met my nail needs and didn't overcharge me. This place is very unique. It is not like the outdated nail places that have 1980s furniture and clunky massage chairs...this place looks hip! The atmosphere is very comfortable, and the people here speak English! Woo-hoo! Only one girl was working when I was there, but she said the owner comes in and works some days too. Anyway, the pricing is a tad more than other places, but the experience was relaxing. Do not go if you are in a hurry though, my pedicure took close to an hour. My only suggestion is this place needs to use some type of foot pumice after using the "cheese-grater foot scraper thing". After using a rough object to get the dead skin off most salons then use a foot pumice to smooth it out...instead I left with some rigid areas on my feet:( Overall everything else went great though! read more

Don't take heart to the troll reviews (same name different locations *side eye*) this place is legit. As soon as you walk in the major difference is that you aren't smacked in the face with the smell of chemicals. They DO NOT DO ACRYLICS HERE, there's a lovely sign when you walk in informing you so. Why? Because this is a natural nail bar, they are about nail health. The polishes that they use are natural and high quality, they clean and sterilize their station and utensils after each client. Prior to coming to Visey's I hadn't had my nails done in years because I was dissatisfied with the experience and lack of quality for the money I paid. I came to Visey's in August on a recommendation and have been a consistent client ever since. A first for me! I've never been cut here (you know what I'm talking about, when they pull out that green stuff and try to pretend it didn't happen) and they are super helpful in helping you pick colors, designs, and even your nail shape. I always get compliments on my nails from the beautiful shape to the different colors I've tried out. These women are always getting new colors in and are always staying up on education within the field. They take their time and check in with you throughout the process to see if you're satisfied or if you have any questions. There are two ladies working here, so it is not your typical assembly line of nail techs so take that into account when scheduling your appointment, which I highly recommend doing only. They've become quite popular and have many regular clients (including myself) that appointment spots are filled up quickly. They are a busy duo. Attempting to do a walk-in is trying your luck lol. When I book my appointment that time is mine, they start and finish me on time or early. If there is ever a time when they are running a little behind, it's because a previous client was running late, I've witnessed it. I've had my nails done by both Visey and Nars and they both do great work! I look forward to my bi-weekly appointments. This shop is about quality and not quantity. She gave me pointers and I felt so much more comfortable here than the other salons where they hardly speak English or don't. These ladies most definitely speak English. I have been meaning to sign up for Yelp for years but am only getting around to it because the service and product I received at Visey's motivated me to write a review. I stumbled across Visey's on Yelp and selected this shop because of the many pictures of beautiful nails I found posted by other reviewers. Like other reviewer's, I am elated with how gorgeous my nails turned out. I found them insignificantly more expensive than other salons (like by a couple bucks) but WAY WAY more worth the money than any other place I've been. I am a week into them and they still look just as gorgeous. There is only the owner and one employee so you can be certain to receive consistent service at every visit. This also means appointments are recommended. Other reviewers have talked about lacking customer service, or the owner being curt or even rude. I have to wholeheartedly disagree. Visey is just soft spoken. You're not going to find bubbly retail costumer service here that tries to make up for a cruddy product; you'll find a soft spoken owner, focused on whether you like the direction your nails are going. She checked in intermittently about if I liked the shape, the width of the white on my French manicure and more. More than once, when I couldn't quite decide, she even offered to paint two nails differently so I could make an informed decision. I'm not even a huge nail person and only got them done for vacation but they may have converted me and I may find myself at the salon much more often. I got a gel French manicure and a French pedicure. I am very happy with both. Block extra time, as one person will do both services for you. They don't pile a bunch of ladies on you to cycle through customers really quickly like other places. Your same person will do your manicure and pedicure. Update-8 months later: I've been going to Visey's salon every three or four weeks for the past 8 months and I have had consistently wonderful service. I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. Both Nars and Visey have done my nails and I love them every time. I received rave reviews over the Breakfast at Tiffany's colors through the holiday season. I went yesterday and they helped me pick the perfect coral color for Spring and Visey suggests I try an almond shape this time. I was reluctant at first but really trust her recommendations and I'm glad I did because I LOVE my nails! The salon was easy to find (directly across the street from Walgreens on 6th Ave). Parking is limited because they share parking with other shop(s). I booked a pedi appointment for myself and my friend since she came to visit from out of town. I felt someone rushed to pick a nail color, but then again they are a business that accept walk-ins and they've got other customers to serve as well.... Now, I've only had (maybe) less than 5 pedicures in my life. This salon does the best job by far. These ladies were gentle, efficient, and provided quality service. Secondly, the lady I talked to was very rude, and that was absolutely unnecessary when answering a question I had. Heres the story: I have been struggling to find a new nail salon, and have jumped back and forth to find a consistent salon in my area I can depend on. Around 6:25PM on Saturday, I drove to Visey's after reading all the great Yelp reviews. I knew they closed in short a half hour and wanted to make sure I wouldn't make them stay too long after 7PM.. When I walked in, it was very quiet and empty. The lady asked me what I wanted to get done, (in a not friendly way) and I said to take my acrylics off and to just get a simple manicure. The lady looked annoyed and so I asked her how long it would take. She said at least an hour. I asked if they were open on Sundays and she said no. She walked over to her business card, and in a terrible mood stated I could come back a better time. After our conversation, she went right back to reading and didn't even say bye. I am giving 1 star not because of the quality of the product, but the customer service. The body language and tone of her voice was extremely melancholic and rude. I am not upset I didn't get taken care of, I understand business hours and operations. I think that it could of been a better conversation - I walked out of there feeling like they didn't care about my business. They probably have impeccable nails, but to me, I need to feel comfortable and know I can rely on them to treat me good, even if I walked in too late. read more
