I'm not sure if it was her or me however I sent a text earlier this month and she said her next availability was May 29. I asked for her to call if she had a cancellation. The system in place does not work well for the price $50 for gel pedicure absolutely my second trip I had to ask her to to work on the skin. I am unable to do my own. I would much rather pay for a pedicure than the $50 co-pay to go to a podiatrist. I'm truly disappointed because I the boutique nail is a little cramped and you do have climb stairs don't arrive early because the chair outside the door is very uncomfortable to sit in! on the first floor they're very friendly they greet you as you come in not connected with the nail salon ! I love to shop small I patronize small businesses as much as humanly possible and avoid the big boxes and the the women that talk about their native tongue. I'm not about to go somewhere and use a translator to know what they're saying that's a terrible practice. read more

Dary has a real talent with nails. She shaped my nails exactly like I asked. My nails also lasted a long time. Would love to go back but she hasn't responded so not sure her business is still up and running. Wish her and all of her family well and hope someday she'll be back. I rarely treat myself to a manicure, so I'm somewhat uniformed. That might change now that I've found Dary's! They have a comfortable, pleasant atmosphere that doesn't have a strong stink of chemicals. Randy did my nails, and he neither rushed or wasted time (that's a big deal to me since one of the reasons I don't get manicures more often is my busy schedule). Also, I was seen on time (another big deal to me)! I've been to other nail salons where I've had techs that will stop working on me, and pawn me onto another tech because they saw a favorite client walk-in. I can't see that ever happening at Dary's. It's small, and only Dary and Randy are working, and you have to have an appointment. So I didn't feel like I was only important until someone more important came in. Diamond in the rough here! I'm in love with how quaint this place is and delightfully paired with a couple that has wonderful skills. The two run the place harmoniously. I came in with acrylics that I wanted removed and replaced with gel color. Although it took longer than anticipated for those stubborn suckers to come off, Randy was gentile and patient. Love love LOVE Dary's Nails Spot! My first time there was today and I will definitely be back again (I've actually already made my next appointment)! Dary made sure to take her time on my acrylics and did exactly what I wanted. My coffin-shaped nails are perfect and the design I got looks exactly like the picture I showed. Randy does the pedicures and prides himself in his foot massage and oh my goodness it was phenomenal!!! The pedicure includes a salt scrub, exfoliation mask with hot towel, paraffin wax for the feet, and a lotion massage. An hour long pedicure that is well worth $30! It's only the two of them running their small shop so therefore it's by appointment only but they are worth your money and time! First, I don't even want to tell you how amazing Randy is because I want to horde him all to myself!! Ok but for the real review, it's located in the upstairs of McClausland's clothing store so you've probably driven by a million times and not even known the treasure you're passing by. The shop itself is an intimate spot with one table for nails and two pedicure stations. This is because it's just Dary & Randy (and that's really all that matters because now I can't imagine going to anyone else!). It's very clean, and the even offer private tools for clients at a low $15 one time fee. Conversation was so genuine and friendly. I felt like I've known them for years. Now on to the service. I had a mani/pedi. The basic part of the service was top notch, but what really caught me was the massage! Randy has magic hands!!! It was like I was the most important client he's ever had, seriously that's how I felt! Honestly I want to have weekly pedicures just for the massage (can someone sponsor me please?). Seriously, if you are looking for just a random spot to get you're nails done, go to some random place. BUT if you are truly looking for someplace that will basically change your outlook on life, this is the place to go!!! Another five star review, who's surprised? I scheduled my appointment with Dary back in June (now July) and the wait was worth it! Between me working and going to school and Dary going on vacation, our schedules didn't overlap. When the day came I was so excited. Her other reviews were all positive and the pictures looked great. Her shop is upstairs in a men's clothing store, which I thought would be shady and dingy but the man in the store told me where to go and it didn't give me a bad vibe at all. Once you enter the store it's clear what everyone means about going upstairs. I was seen at the time of my appointment and we got started right away. Her and her husband are so sweet and made me feel comfortable in their space. We watched tv while I was getting my nails done and we chatted about the show, their sons, where I work, etc. Dary took her time but I didn't feel like she was dragging on. I tried this place because of the positive yelp reviews. And I was so pleased! It's hard to find a nail salon that speaks English AND does a great job. Dary did a great freehand art on my acrylic nails. They also worked with my schedule and fit me in early. I'm so happy that I'm going back this afternoon for a pedicure. I can say without an issue that I absolutely love this "spot". Yes, it's really a spot. There are two pedicure stations, and just one manicure station but don't let the small size fool you- the attention to detail and personable service is what makes this place. I came in with jacked up "holographic" nails and I initially wanted matte black, but Dary mentioned "unicorn dust" that was new, and I decided to do that on white instead. Turned out beautifully! I also asked for coffin shaped nails and my goodness did she deliver! My husband is absolutely in love with them as well. Randy did my pedicure and the massage was LIFE. They're both so very polite, booking my appointment an hour and a half before opening since my only days off are Tuesday and Wednesday. In past reviews I have given Dary & Randy 5 stars but now I have to change it to 1 star. Revised Review: I'm so sorry that I have to give Dary and Randy this sad review. I've been going to them for my mani pedi for the past year and have always been happy with the service they provided. Dary has a wonderful design mind and her attention to detail is impeccable. Randy was always friendly, fun to be around with his upbeat mood and my pedicures always looked wonderful. I'm not quite sure where things started to go down hill. About 2 months ago I noticed that Randy didn't seem himself. He became snappy with me. That visit was just weird to me because I truely didn't think it was personal he was just having a bad day. During my pedicure I had noted that there was dead skin still around my toes so I asked him if he was ready for the polish and he said yes. So I asked him if he would clean them up a bit more. He looked at Dary and asked if she was almost finished and said to me that Dary will finish up. Dary came over and did what I thought was quite a bit of clean up before she put the polish on my toes. So like I said I didn't think much about it, just that Randy wasn't haven't a good day. At my next appointment I had the same reaction from Randy when I asked if he could do a little more clean up before he put the polish on. And this time he hadn't even done the hot wax or massage (which I didn't realize til later) he flew up his hands, got up and motioned to Dary to finish. At this point I was shaken and didn't understand. So while Dary was doing my manicure I tried to talk to her about what had just happened & that I didn't really understand why he seemed so angry & would behave like this to me. She said, "how do you think he feels that I'm constantly questioning his work, always asking him to do this and do that seeming like I'm never happy". At this point I was in shock. I've left them wonderful reviews on Yelp & Google, have always raved about their work and referring people to them. I've even helped them with a write up to let a customer go. Of course I never knew that would happen to me. So, I immediately apologized for anything that I may have done to upset him so much. I told her that it seemed strange to me because this has happened now several times so I was starting to get nervous about his work. Actually before this appointment I sent a text to them asking, "how is Randy doing"? "Is he ok"? Dary said that the text made him very angry like I was going behind his back complaining. Again, I of course said that I was sorry and that I never meant anything bad by it. If I was talking behind his back then why would I send a text to a phone that I knew they both use for business? Anyway, Dary finished up with another amazing manicure... see the attached the photos. I'm so sad in writing this review because I really love my manicures and can't believe that Dary won't be doing them any longer. After several weeks had gone by I texted them to set up my next appointment and to my surprise I recieved a return text saying, "I don't think that this is the salon for you". WOW, REALLY? I was stunned beyond belief. Completely shocked!! I have to say that I am the type of person that if I know I have hurt someones feelings I feel terrible and try to do what I can to quickly rectify the situation. But at this point there was nothing I could do but send them a text saying, "I really appreciate you two and the relationship we'd had over the past year. I'm sorry that we couldn't come to some sort of resolution, wishing them well". And that was that... Now the part that has been left out of this story is that I have Multiple Sclerosis which has caused me to have terrible short term memory where I may ask the same questions again and again. I also have a Tramatic Brain Injury which makes things even harder in the memory Dept. Due to a couple situations that have occurred in the past I know that this can be frustrating for people. I make sure when I'm going to have a relationship with someone who is providing me a service on a continual basis letting them know what can happen from time to time. I'm always told don't worry about. Well I guess that's not true is it? I of course know that it's not my fault on how people choose to handle my questioning and forgetfulness. I guess whats really bothering me is I feel that because of this disability I have been judged and that's wrong. I have thought long and hard about writing this review, I feel that this is a story that should be told. That you never know when you will be judged without understanding the results of your disability. I'm super torn, my feelings are hurt and I'm beyond sad... even with all this I still truly wish Dary and Randy the very best. read more
