Reserving an appointment online was really easy; I had Katie do my manicures. The first time I came in was a 15 minute wait even though I had an appointment & it seems like the more you're a regular, the more you get quickly seated. They offer some beverages (coffee, tea, coke, diet coke, bottled water) during your visit as well. I appreciated the quiet and ability to zone out with headphones or keep a conversation with the tech if you wanted to. They also have a punch card and the freebie is a free paraffin wax if you keep visiting. I appreciated how gentle Katie was in removing gelx to minimize damage to my nails as some other places file way too much. My last visit recently, I was relaxing a bit and felt my cuticle sting a bit. Typically I am good keeping up w the cuticle care at home(!), yet I held my hand up to notice and was a bit disappointed Katie gave a quick "sorry" but let it be and did not bother to dress it or put gauze, let alone her acknowledging the error from the jump would have gone over far better. Some time went on and I moved my hand w her shaping my cuticles to prevent that error from happening again and she told me curtly twice to not do that. The vibe was off a bit from that point and I was more than happy to go to my pedicure. That woman, Jenny I believe, was kind the times I had her. Usually once I find a nail place I like to remain there but I may search on a bit more and come back go Luxie later!

Parking was easy since the salon is located in Lakewood Towne Center, which offers plenty of parking and is also easily accessible by public transportation. I called earlier in the week to schedule an appointment for Saturday at 9:30AM. The doors were actually open a few minutes before my appointment, but I waited until exactly 9:30AM to walk into the shop. The shop is quite small, but it wasn't crowded. There were three people, including myself, getting pedicures at the same time, and one person getting a manicure. There were still staff available if any other customers came in. I requested a French pedicure and was impressed with the results! It was my first time getting a French pedicure, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I'm usually a bit concerned about pedicures because my feet are sensitive and I've been nicked on my toenails a few times at other salons. My total was $57.50 before tip for the pedicure. I'm not entirely sure what type of pedicure I received since I only specified that I wanted a French pedicure with gel polish. I did receive a scrub, oil, wax, and a massage on my feet.

They remodeled, so it looks more updated, but its a whole new staff/company. I had high hopes, but I am so picky and was sad Unique Nails were no longer. I made an appointment the day prior for 9:30am. I had a gentleman as my nail tech, I showed him long oval nails, he glued on my pinky nail crooked so he had to remove the glued nail off and try again. I started to get nervous. My nails took half the time as others in, I'm assuming they are regulars for the new salon. He got acrylic all over my skin around my nails and just left it. I paid $75 plus tip for a full set with chrome finish. When i got home to look at my nails, there is a gap between the fake nail and my nails. Literally every nail was not glued on properly. I was going to go back to see if they would rectify my badly done nails, but I dont think I would go back anyways. Im so sad! Unique Nails was my favorite, i believe Dan was my regular. And now its different, and after the rushed set with acrylic all over my skin, I am saddened. I will not be returning, and I recommend anyone that goes to double check they glued the nail on properly. Make sure they do quality work so you dont end up like me. Im sure I will have to get my nails redone very soon. It took me so long to find a regular spot, now Im back to square one I am not sure if the nail tech was new or not, but I feel like I totally got ripped off.
