I went in at 12 pm.wore my flip flops, or bare foot, doing nothing , until 10 am the next day.I put on socks and shoes to go to work and came home after 4 hrs. On Friday, the 21st of February, my daughter and I went to get our nails done Mani/pedi. I really want to love this place, but it's always been hit or miss with me. Lily is GREAT at doing nails, but she seems to be the only one who's versatile at doing different styles or trying new designs. I've had a great experience with her. The other nail techs, meh didn't really listen to what I wanted and instead suggested what they wanted. Maybe because they couldn't deliver the design I showed them on the picture. Any way, we walked in maybe 10 minutes after 9 am when the shop opens. There was one customer and one nail tech that I could see. The tech asked what we wanted to get done, she replied, can you come back because there's already a customer on their way in. I looked at my daughter and looked back at her and thought we're already here. She said yeah come back we have a customer on their way already. At that point I said forget and we left. I try to give business to local shops and I enjoy one or two of the techs that work there but it is always hit or miss, no consistency. I know they've done some new things with the shop like signing in on a console and you get like a discount if you pay cash, etc but they need more techs because the shop does pick up and when it does, they tend to rush who they're working on to get to the next customer. read more

Lumpy, uneven and blotchy gel job. The girl doing my pedicure rushed the job. Globbed on the clear coat it went on uneven and she left it . Asked her nicely to fix. Then she proceeded to do my gel nails. I'm not sure if she's new or unskilled. But my nails are blotchy, the polish is uneven. And it is so bumpy that I'll have to fix them somewhere else. My first time here was on my birthday, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, for a deluxe pedicure. I had correspondence on Yelp to set up an appointment since there was a 10% discount and I was in need of some pampering and self care. Walking in I was greeted and asked how they could help. I let them know I had an appointment and they got me right in the seat ready to begin my pedicure. I highly recommend the hot stone, massage and paraffin pedicure so amazing and relaxing. I next came for a full set of gel nails right before Christmas and loved the finished product. Grey with snowflakes and gray glitter I went a little too long with the length and ended up cracking two and losing one...my fault completely. Recently I came in at 5:30pm on a Friday for a fill but had to get full set. Kim in chair #3 was so quick and efficient and this second set is clean, precise and beautiful!!! I've come here over the years since they've opened, and it's really hit and miss, to be honest. On my last visit, I was dissatisfied with the Deluxe Pedicure I received. Considering it was 3:15 pm on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't too busy. I arrived with 4 customers there and waited less than 10 mins, but it got empty by the time I was ready to soak and prep for the pedicure. At this point, there were only two customers, one finishing up a pedicure, the other getting acrylics Sat in the water until it got mildly cool, which speaks for the amount of time I just sat there waiting. Eventually, the nail tech started on me, but let me just say she spent more time wandering around the shop cleaning and picking up. I clocked the amount of time she worked on my feet in total, and let's just say it was less than 15 mins if that. Mind you, there weren't any other customers for a good 20 mins after she started on my feet once she completed the previous pedicure before me. Massage was non-existent, hot stone treatment was sub-par, and the ex foliant treatment was decent at best. Think of the hot towel treatment on my legs and then left to sit for 10 mins until they got cold type of situation, I had to ask her a couple of times to clean around my toes a bit more i.e dead skin, toenail length. Honestly, I felt as if she was just going thru the motion with no real effort, yet I got out of the shop by 4:40 pm. I considered getting a full set of nails but changed my mind after the 12 minute pedicure that took over an hour to finish partly because she would do something w my toes then wander off for 10 min increments. I paid in cash and seriously did not want to tip her at all. A Deluxe Pedi is $35. I gave her $40, and she thanked me and tried to pocket the $5. I requested my change, and then I gave her $3 singles as a tip and walked out. Now I tip well and do so when the service is good and this last time, imo wasn't it. They are usually pretty good, but this last visit and previous visits that were mediocre in service have me considering finding a new nail shop. read more

You really get what you pay for here. Came in hoping to get tips with a powder gel but ended up getting acrylic instead due to their lack of variety. All throughout the process of getting my nails done the ladies were trying to upsell me to do gel polish in which I had made clear many times I did not want. I hate gel polish if it isn't powder cause I work with my hands so often and it tends to chip immediately. The woman who did my nails did a good job actually shaping and filing my nails but the paint job on top of the acrylic was sloppy and I had to keep nudging her to clean my skin as she trudged forward. She asked me if I wanted to pay in advance before my nails dried which I thought was a good idea at the time but as soon as I paid she left me in front of a fan and did not finish the service. There was no hot towel, no hand massage, no lotion, and a total disregard for servicing me after I paid! The woman next to me who was a regular got a massage, shoulder rub, and her hands lubed up with lotion. To top it all off, I was annoyed by the worker screaming loudly in Vietnamese on her phone and the whole time it almost felt like they were talking about me choosing not to do the gel. After the tech (Kim) cut my nails too short, I asked if she could remove the tips (that were only on with nail glue) and start over because they weren't the length I wanted. She didn't want to and told me to go with it. Also thought long nails would look silly, even after I showed pictures of my old sets and the length I like. Also - My cuticles weren't trimmed, nothing. The polish on my hand is lumpy, and doesn't even cover my nails fully. When I asked for encapsulated moons, she didn't properly encapsulate them and it looks milky instead of clear and again.... lumpy. I almost didn't pay, but I'm not that person. I came to this salon after needing dip powder. There are many great reviews of this salon but today that was not the case. I asked for black powder dip with a glitter finger. The woman doing my nails made them so clumpy and think that I complained. Then in an attempt to "make it right" another woman tried to fix them and this is what I got. I did not leave with clumps so that was great but I have other areas of frustration. I am not sure if I will go back or not. The biggest issues I was there over 2.5 hours literally got a set and then another woman redid my same set... and they still charged me $39!!!! This is the best nail salon in the area when considering the final product. I have been to many, many nail places in the Tacoma area and Lily is absolutely amazing. I showed her a picture and she did it perfectly! I'm OBSESSED with my nails. The entire staff is super nice and friendly. They also all work so hard to keep things moving. WARNING: They get INCREDIBLY busy and sometimes you are waiting around a while. At first this used to irritate me but they do such quality work that I will live with it. At that point I had already waited 2 hours for a fill, so I ended up leaving with my nails unfinished. In addition to not finishing my nails, the guy filed my daughters toe nails so hard that he made them bleed....I sure hope they sanitized their tools. I come here every 2 weeks to get my acrylics done by Lilly. They are always flawless and exactly what I want. I have never found anyone else who makes them as resilient and long lasting. I get compliments constantly. As for pedicures, you will not find a better treatment for the money in this area. I am giving 5 stars based on my visit, the way my nails came out, customer service and cleanliness. This was my first visit and it won't be my last. I went on a Friday morning and was seen right away. Everyone was nice and welcoming, my nail tech (or nailist) was wonderful. She and I had great conversation and she made me feel comfortable. Which is good. I showed her what I was looking to get, from a picture I took off Pinterest and she was able to do exactly what I asked for. When I washed my hands the sink area was clean And there were clean towels to use to dry them. After my nails were done, I ft a wonderful hand massage, paid then went on my way. I wish I got the nail techs. Name, but I forgot to ask. She was super great. It's been awhile since I have had an opportunity to get some me time, it was well spent here. I came here based on the reviews I read on yelp and I'm so glad I did. (I feel like, not many people yelp here.) lol but, I'm so glad there were enough reviews for this place and I took a chance and went.
