I just want to start off by saying I love this place. I lived in Tacoma from 2021-2024 and went to La Bella for two year straight and never had a bad experience. I recently moved back this month and started going back to La Bella. I got my nails done May 15th at 6pm and got a full set of builder gel nails. This was my first time ever getting builder gel and I liked the outcome and had a good experience. The only complaint I have is that my appointment was at 6pm and they close at 7pm and I could tell they fully rushed my nail process. They got the entire set done in 45 minutes. I understand they were closing soon but they shouldn't accept appointments that late if they plan to rush the client out of the place. A few days into the nails and they started to lift. Wednesday the 20th two nails popped off perfectly with little effort. Almost every single other nail was lifting at the cuticle, my hair was getting caught in them and they were painfully lifting and I knew they wouldn't last much longer. I called La Bella today the 20th (so I only had the nails on for 6 days, to my knowledge builder gel can last up to 3-5 weeks). I called La Bella today asking for an appointment to get them fixed. The hostess that answered the phone was very nice and she told me they would most likely fix the nails for free because that was not supposed to happen. I went in tonight around 5pm at my scheduled appointment and I asked for dip nails instead because dip is what I was used to and I know they last. I was happy with my appointment the nail tech seemed to take her time and I loved my new nails. But I was very annoyed when I checked out when they tried to charge me the full price of dip nails which was 65 dollars. I asked to speak to a manager and explained the situation. He told me it was not acceptable that the nails only lasted 6 days. He said he would charge me $45 instead. I didn't fight or fuss and I paid the full price. I am extremely annoyed there was no communication that the previous hostess told me the nails would be on the house and I feel like as a business they should've fixed their mistake. I fully planned on tipping my nail tech a good tip for redoing my nails and ensuring they were a good set. I don't know if I will be back to La Bella because of this experience and it saddens me because I truly love this place. read more

$$$ Watch for hidden fees I chose a "classic pedicure" which was listed as $38. When I checked out the total was $59.16. Over $20 for GEL (I brought my own) I tipped, so my $38 pedicure was $70.16 total. I don't mind paying higher prices for a spa-like experience. This just... wasn't that :/ read more

My nails have been completely wrecked since I got a gelx removal here. The tech did not soak my nails at all, just continuously scraped them for the entire removal process. Now- almost two months later- they are thin, breaking constantly, and my nail beds feel misshapen and damaged. I used to get compliments on the strength of my nails whenever I got them done and I loved their natural shape, and now I just feel sad when I look at them or try to open something or my fingers hit something and immediately hurt. I would never, ever go back here, nor would I recommend it to anyone. read more

I scheduled a last minute appointment due to not having enough time to do my nails myself. I asked the nail tech for an oval shape and to keep the acrylic thin. The shape I got was a mix of almond and oval. Just uneven. There's a few air bubbles, which I told her about, but nothing was done. She also filed down the apex of the nail base to the nails look really flat from the side, there's no apex for structural integrity. She also didn't do anything to really clean up my cuticles so there's gel over my cuticles. The nail tech was more interested in drinking her bubble tea and gossiping more than providing a good service and doing a good job with the nails themself. read more

i come to get their winter pedicure plus gel which comes out to being $70, a higher price point. they include a massage with this type of pedicure, which i was needing. however im a bit disappointed with the service i received today. i asked for squared toes and complained about how rough my feet felt before the service. the nail tech flooded my nail bed with polish and it's ran down the fronts of my toes. the massage was given limp handed not with any actual effort. i regret spending my money here. sometimes certain employees actually care but today i wasn't as lucky. when the service was completed i was cashing out and left an $8 tip and the receptionist was a bit rude about it too. read more

Do not recommend visiting, mani/pedi was so so, but the waxing experience was by far the worst. Unprofessional, questionable if the person performing is licensed because did not know what she was doing, during the bikini wax she gave zero explanation, didn't leave the room for me to change and spoke to the person getting waxed after me about my service. She didn't leave the wax on long enough to set, gave zero warning before taking strips off and would yank multiple times to get a strip off. Didn't even complete the service due to concern of skin damage. Never saw her wash her hands either. Save yourself the hassle and cost because even after that nightmare no discount was offered. read more

$70 for very basic mani and pedi that lasted all of 4 days. The girl who did my nails did not speak a word of English which is not a bad thing but I couldn't communicate with her at all. At the end she dropped the check next to me. Didn't help me put my shoes on rolls my pants down or get the credit card to pay out which frustrated me- ruined my nails gathering everything. How do you just leave me sitting in the pedi chair. I didn't even know that my service was done until the guy next to me asked me to pay at the front desk. She was horrible. i left her a goof tip bc im a kind persob but she didn't deserve it. the girl art the front desk was vert helpful funny and kind. the hostess is the only reason I'm giving 1 star read more

Officially found my new nail salon. Checked in and taken back right away. Plenty of nail stations, pedicure stations, and staff. They offer regular polish, gel polish, and dip powder ALL OF IT!. You can get a pedicure on the patio if you choose. You can get waxed and lashes, too. They offer complementary mimosas, red wine, and white wine. Prices are absolutely reasonable, and when you are done, you can go downstairs and grab a Boba tea. The owner of the nail salon owns and opened the Boba tea shop. read more

La bella was a very pretty establishment but I think that's is all it is. My friend and I came to get a full set and a manicure just as walk ins. they told us to come back in about an hour, when we arrived they sat us down but we waited another hour just to begin getting our nails done. They were apologetic and they did give us some free cuticle oil for the wait however my full set was NOT what i asked for and was a rushed. i asked for coffin snap nails and instead got misshaped square nails with an uneven coat. i would not recommend spending your time or money here. read more

the first girl that did my acrylic set did pretty good. the girls were nice and everything but the final design was Not good. I wanted gold accents like a picture I had and the nail techs didn't know how to do it but said they did and the girl did ok If I was 8 years old but it didn't look anything like the photo. i wanted some gold dots and she put an uneven amount of dots on each nail which is Nothing like what the photo showed..and then if you want something changed they act all frustrated like it's your fault! ugh i was so looking forward to my nail experience and I hate how they turned out now I have to fix them myself when they charged me 90$ (30$ for the childish design!) so not worth it. Located in the best part of Tacoma by some amazing restaurants upstairs there they are! Cute spacious waiting area, friendly staff. Clean, lots of natural light, a bar for adult beverages. Lots of colors to pick from. I got their outside patio pedicure with Barbie Pink gel shellac. Super cute! Love the color loved the friendly thorough pedicure. Lasted weeks! Best nail spa in Old Town / Proctor area! Don't know why it doesn't have better reviews, but this place is phenomenal. The entrance / area is so cute and always extremely clean. The front desk gals and guy are really nice, they always answer the phone and get me scheduled / rescheduled quickly. I've been going for about 2 and a half months every two weeks -- things starting to get busy as summer approaches and recommend making an appointment! The techs are always super helpful in picking colors, keep stations clean, and offer something to drink (water, wine etc). A huge variety of colors dip or otherwise to pick from. My go-to gal is Trinh! She does SUCH an amazing job on my nails and I'm nervous writing this and feeling like she'll be booked out But she's conversational, isn't aggressive or harsh on my nails, and does such a phenomenal job with whatever shape I give her. Lee gave me the best foot massage with just the right amount of pressure. She even designed a pattern for the upcoming Caribbean festival I am going to. The salon is clean and well-lit, and everyone is very friendly, but the only downside was not being offered anything to drink. Despite that, I will definitely return. read more

I've been getting my nails done here for about two years since its really close to my house. The salon is nice, and staff is friendly. But it is definitely on the pricier side. With that said, they USUALLY do a good job. I have a few favorite technicians I always request as I find I am pleased with their service. I'm definitely picky when it comes to my nails, but I come here because they do them better than I would, and I need to get them done. Overall, finding quality nail salons in this state is extremely difficult. Is this the best salon ever? probably not, but its most likely the best in the area. I am very happy with place. I have visited 3 times I think. My wife and I are going about once a month on average. I get a pedicure and my wife usually gets a pedicure and a gel manicure. So far very happy with our experiences. I actually get complimented more often than I would guess. I have one bit of warning. The water for the pedicure pre-soak procedure is extremely hot. Its not burning the flesh hot, but its damn close. They can cool it down a bit, but i have found that if you can muster its very nice, but take your time to get into the foot bath. Special note number 2. They prefer cash tips, infact they may only accept cash tips now. So make sure you bring some cash. read more

VERY HONEST REVIEW (please see pics) - I went to Bella Nail Spa (Proctor) 3 days ago. I had 1 old coat of regular polish on my hands, and I wanted to get clear shellac with chrome powder. They charged me $60 for this. SIXTY...for removing polish that took literally 10 seconds, clear shellac, and chrome powder rubbed onto the nails. They did not say anything about this being an add-on. They also cut the corners of my nails so short that they are red and sore 3 days later. The shellac is peeling up on the edges and it looks like this is something I did myself. I'm so disappointed. The spa itself was clean, and had a nice vibe. So, I' thankful for that, but if the service is poor, and they overcharge for the most simple of services, it ruins the experience. I'd rather go to a hole in the wall salon and get a nice manicure than be charged $60 for what I got. I DO NOT recommend this place. read more

I've been waiting for 19 minutes so far after my scheduled 3:00pm appointment and haven't had a single worker come to me after placing my feet in the foot tub. That's ridiculous in my opinion. After finally coming to do my nails, the gal who was doing my toe nails was very detailed and professional. But the gal who was doing my nails on my hands was so rushed. She barely looked at my hands when she was filing because she kept talking with her coworkers. And she just kept rushing. We don't pay $95 for nails that we can do at home. We want a good experience. I was recommended to this place and I had what was probably the worst manicure. He barely cleaned my cuticles, and what he did cut, he hacked at them. One nail is red and hurts now. I was in and out so fast and my nails started to chip 3 days later - and this was a dip manicure. They also don't use clean tools! He literally picked out a piece of cuticular from the tool from the previous person. Gross! I want a place that opens the sterilized tools just for you. They have wine or mimosa for you while you get your nails done. Honestly the whole staff is friendly and nice but the people I go to for my nails (including my husband) is Tiffany and Erick! They take their time and genuinely have a conversation with you. The owner is also super friendly and nice! She always stops by to say hi and she recognizes her regulars so that's always a plus. This morning I called because I've been so busy with my kids summer schedule that I totally forgot my nails needed some tlc for my upcoming family pictures. I called at 930 and they told me they had an opening at 11 so I took it. When I got close I could not find the building so I called them again and they were very helpful, it's easy to miss but once he told me they were next to wag ( which had a big sign) I found them right away. Parking in this area is hit and miss because it's street parking and only has 2 hour increments, but when I got there somebody was leaving so I got lucky. Once I walked up the stairs I was immediately impressed with how beautiful this nail salon is. Don't let outside fool you because it's also huge there were so many pedicure chairs I didn't even try to count and for a Thursday morning they were very busy. I was sat down pretty much immediately after picking out my nail color, I went with barefoot in Barcelona today. I had scheduled both a pedicure and manicure and I had 2 people simultaneously working on me, both were very nice and as they cut my nails and applied the color they would check and make sure I was happy, it was so relaxing. Also let's talk about it I wish I would have come with a girlfriend they have a little bar here with soda, water, a few wines and mimosas- this is the type of energy I need when getting nails done so next time I know. I've been on the search for a nail salon I love since mine had switched owners and service has gone down. This was a 30 minute drive but totally worth it. He also put very thick coats of polish toward the tip of my nails. Today is Sunday. It hasn't even been a full week and they are chipping horribly. It was a waste of money and complete disappointment. Some of the technicians there are far better than others. The young man I went to, I would not recommend.
