I have always been terrified to try Asian cuisine because of my severe food allergies (eggs & peanuts) which are commonly found in these foods. I asked the owner if there were any in the brisket pho & he said no & I had no issues with it. The waitstaff is also really attentive. The broth is super tasty & is helped by sriracha if you like it spicy. The brisket texture is perfect. The pho was okay with decent portions but the cream puffs were so much smaller than before!! (Like half the size) and were 4.50 each. Service was a little weird and our sauce bottles for pho barely had anything left even though the restaurant is new. I understand that its a new place but the owners/workers(?) kept looking at us and kept asking us how the food was maybe 6-7 times during the meal but didn't refill our water until we asked. My son has been wishing for a good Vietnamese place near UT campus and finally UTea has filled that void. He said the food is really great but aside from the food review, I also wanted to commend the owners for great service! My son got sick and doordash was having issues-- so the owners Brian and Mrs. Dong (sp?) made an exception to help. I order the beef (or pork) rice dish and the meat was really good but the portion was SO SO small, it took me less than 5 minutes to finish. My bf got the pho, just average according to him & I agree. I went back a second time and tried the shrimp spring roll & Ban Mhi pork sandwich. The sandwich was a tad bit small but it was good! Best pho place in austin i've encountered!! After spending (literally) all day outside for a flag tournament in the freezing cold, we were all just wanting a nice authentic bowl of pho. Coming from arlington/dallas area too, it's hard to compete with the food there but this place is pretty up there. We came in & ordered, ate, and settled bill all so quickly, which was surprising for our group of 12. The restaurant isn't that big so our group was worried about accommodation for all of us, but these people were so nice & so quick to make room for us on a saturday night in Austin. I went to UTea Pho again today since I was craving some Pho. Got the basil fried rice along with it. The chicken pho was really good and not as heavy as the beef pho. Since I was sick, really enjoyed the broth and the noodles. The basil fried rice was not what I expected as a Thai basil fried rice but it was tolerable. I left my leftovers at the store when I left and the server came out to give me my food. 10/10 service. read more

This place is really good! It is not very crowded whenever I go and the aesthetic is quite nice. The pricing for the pho is very good and the portion amount is also very generous. I remember when it first opened, I thought it wouldn't be the best since it was so close to campus, but I'm glad to know that I was wrong. I moved here from Dallas in August and have been trying to find my go-to Austin pho place ever since. I've tried 6 or 7 different places, but was always disappointed until I found UTea Pho!! I got the rare steak pho and the noodles were perfectly done (not too mushy like a lot of places), the steak was high quality, and the broth was flavorful and delicious. First of all, let me state that whenever I go to Vietnamese restaurants I only eat pho with brisket. So this review is about their pho soup with brisket. Service: I got my pho with brisket in about 3-5 minutes. This is exactly what I am looking for when I eat out. The server also brought my bill before I finished my soup, - also said take my time, no rush - so I did not have to wait on them wasting my time next to an empty plate. This is rare and should be standard, and this is what I am looking for. Price: Number one cost/value ratio. I have been to other places and this place beats all of them with better tasting soup. Taste: OMG! The soup itself is first class! Whenever I go to a new place I start smelling the soup, and it was excellent, and best in Austin. After my first spoon, I was thinking not even add any siracha or hoisin sauce because it was just perfect and I did not want to ruin it. The noodles were fresh, just perfect again. The only thing that is not the very best that I ever had - still good - was the brisket, but simply because I prefer a little bit fatty brisket in my soup and this was lean. size: just perfect for me, but it is a personal preference. I am so happy that Cream Whiskers rebranded and became UTea Pho. We needed a good pho place in West Campus and this place delivers. The food is reasonably priced as well as delicious. I was able to try the crab rangoons, the egg rolls, the steak pho, and the pork sandwich and I enjoyed all the items. The rangoons and egg eolls were crispy and flavorful, the pho had a nice broth, and the sandwich was delicious and had a good amount of filling to meat ratio. The service is also really good: our waiter and the manager checked in on our table regularly. They also bring carafes of water to your table which is a nice touch. And finally, they still serve the same yummy cream puffs they always have. read more

This was a totally random find through yelp but hey, finally a decent and affordable Vietnamese restaurant right on campus! We had no expectations at all knowing Vietnamese food in this part of the city is usually pretty bad, and we ordered spring rolls, eggs rolls, brisket pho and lemongrass beef vermicelli. To our surprise, they were all pretty tasty and definitely better than a lot of Vietnamese places we've tried before. The highlight of the meal was definitely the egg rolls which came out piping hot, crispy and very fresh tasting. I enjoyed my vermicelli too, our only complaint would be the extra bean sprouts and basil came with the pho, which weren't very fresh looking, other than that, it was a surprisingly good meal. The owner is a friendly Vietnamese guy and he came out a few times to make sure our food was okay and also brought water for our dogs. We will definitely be back soon. read more
