Chimichurri Steak & Bacon Sandwich ($15.99, 6.5/10) - Portion size felt on the small side, after finishing the whole sandwich I was still hungry and could've easily eaten another half to feel full - Steak was relatively tender, thin sliced so it was easy to bite through - Chimichurri sauce was a bit more acidic than I'm used to, and the pickled veggies leaned acidic too, could've used something creamy to balance it all out - Bread was really good, and overall sandwich quality still felt high - Would've been nice to get a bag of chips included, given you're paying $15.99 for just the sandwich Overall, Mendocino Farms still brings high quality ingredients and good food. People in a rush might skip the line and try this less-known healthy bowl food restaurant instead? But I digress... I had tried CAVA four times or so and every time I saw MAD Greens and thought, Someday I'm going to try that place. Well, last Sunday was the day. I got to eat what I wanted because I was eating solo. I'm going all in on this trial run, I thought to myself, so I bought one salad for that day and ordered another to be my lunch the following day. I walked in and was the only customer in the restaurant. I was greeted warmly by the young man behind the counter, who called me queen and had no complaint about my asking for no tomatoes and the dressings on the side. I tried the Greek one and the sesame sriracha one. The place was clean enough and the employees seemed to be enjoying themselves, chatting and goofing off a reasonable amount. The bowls were great. I chose the Greek one first when I realized it had pita chips inside. It came with two dressings, the creamier of which was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. Confession--I am a recovering picky eater and I hate cucumbers, but I love sneaking them into my body underneath delicious dressings and salty kalamatas. The second day I ate the sesame sriracha situation. It had tofu, which tbh I have never successfully eaten, and it was really good. It reminded me of the paneer in Indian food. That salad had edamame too, so I was definitely satiated and I'm guessing I got plenty of protein. Overall, I will definitely go back.
