I love the food at USS Nemos and I second time I've had to say service was not good. They seem to be in such a hurry - the waiters are just running and don't have time. Had to wait after we sat down...wine glasses are empty when food comes out but our waiter is no where to be seen. Never asked if everything was ok - had to wave to get drinks and bill. Maybe since such a small place they can't accommodate enough help? They are more interested in turning tables? Bums me out to put up with par service to get their great food... read more

Food is very good. The prices are higher than other $$$ restaurants in area because each item is seperate. Salad with meal, wedge, Caesar, etc will be $7-10 additional. If you have someone in the party who doesn't enjoy Asian flair food they may have a difficult time selecting an entree. Portions are appropriate. You have eaten a large dinner but nothing is wasted. We have eaten here at least once a year on our vacations to Naples for the last 6 years. read more

Do not be put off by the 10 minute wait even if you made a reservation. They are very very busy there and for good reason. Once you are seated, you never feel rushed, and if your server is anything like Natali was, you will leave feeling very well attended to- friendly, efficient and professional. Seafood sampler appetizer was excellent with the fried shrimp, carpaccio and seared Tuna. Miso Sea Bass with lobster Risotto is a dish that has no comparison. It's unique and melt in your mouth. Looking around the dining room 2 out of 3 people were ordering the same dish. Skipped dessert because we were stuffed. This place is great! Came here for dinner on our honeymoon and loved every bite. Even the bread starter came with a little plate of hummus, pickled ginger, something like kimchi, and a seaweed salad that was just delicious. We had the lobster soup, miso sea bass special and the lobster shrimp pasta. The soup had huge chunks of lobster in it and was so savory and flavorful. Great food, had 3 different style tuna dishes when we went and each was very unique in style and type. However, the acoustical properties of the room were atrocious... interior was beautiful, but there is a flat metal panel running along one entire side wall of the dining area, which sound bounced off like no other. I only have minor auditory problems, but the amplified conversations was severe enough to ruin the expirience and made for a highly uncomfortable meal. The waiter I had was condescending and impersonal, however I doubt this is a common trait of staff here. If you don't have auditory issues I would highly recomend, if you do, make sure you sit outside when it's busy! read more

Tables are slammed close together. They either need to get a bigger space to give people room, or reduce the number of tables. The food is good, the experience is pretty garb. Nemo is a favorite of many. Food quality is good, prices tend to be high, but not unreasonable, and service is professional. My problem is the tables are so close together, and the outdoor tables are on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant -constant foot traffic, and cars coming and going - this is just a strip mall. So it's noisy and just irritating. You expect fine dining, and you're crammed in like a sardine. If they moved to a better location, would easily be worthy another star. read more

Miso Sea Bass. DELISH! Uss Nemo is a quaint delicious eatery in central Naples. It is easily recognizable in it's strip-mall location by the portholes in the restaurant's exterior. It is an excellent alternative to the big-box franchise Naples seems to draw. The interior's atmosphere is infused with nautical touches, as though you are dining below deck. My absolute favorite dish is the miso sea bass. Cooked to perfection with a melt in your mouth tenderness and scrumptious miso flavor. The tempura has always satisfied as well. Yes it's that good!! We were in Naples for three nights and we ate here two of the three only because we found it on the second night of our stay. The sea bass is a must!! I liked the lobster soup while another reviewer said it was so-so. The portion was a little large for the richness of the soup. My husband really enjoyed his corn and fish chowder. The tempura veggies were very good. Bread was amazing! with a really good plate of goodies instead of just boring butter. Go here! Ignore any ratings of less than 5 stars, Yes, it's a little noisy but the food is soooo worth it. They may have a few dishes that are not stellar, but we didn't find any. read more

We come every year to Nemo and it is never a disappointment in terms of food. We had the scallops, the seared tuna and the pasta this time and all three dishes were excellent. The cocktails were very nice and at a reasonable price. We find some of the entrees to be a bit overpriced. Our server was nice but we could expect a better service at this price range of a restaurant. Genuinely friendlier service with more recommandations would have made our experience from great to exceptional. We knew the restaurant was very crowded around 7pm so the place gets very noisy. But if you are aware and you are just looking to have amazing food, this is the place to be! read more

Since moving to Naples in 2014, I have wanted to try this restaurant - we just never made it there. I am constantly disappointed by trying places everyone tells you is "the best" because so far in Naples, it has left me with a "meh" feeling and a large hole in my wallet. Happy to report that wasn't the case here. The one star is reluctantly taken off for the place - USS Nemo is located in a strip mall with a cramped parking lot (in season, it is essentially a zoo). The restaurant itself is a little dated looking decor-wise and the tables are very close together (makes for good eavesdropping but not great when you need personal space - like me). The overall feeling doesn't immediately hit you with a "fine dining" experience and for the price point, makes you go a little "hmmmm, how is this going to be?". Anyway, with an open mind, we sat down at our table. We had a 7:30 pm reservation and were promptly served at around that time. I find that impressive considering the place was PACKED with tons of us standing around outside waiting. Our server was the manager and he was outstanding. A perfect combination of attentive but not annoying and knew that menu like the back of his hand. They first come out with a hummus/spicy slaw/seaweed salad which I honestly thought was a bit odd. All ok but not mind blowing. Next is the bread, which they refilled because we ate a lot of it, lol. Good bread though - fresh and not stale. I ordered a Mango Mojito which was pretty yummy and pretty strong!! LOL. For appys, we ordered the Sautéed Calamari ($12.95) and the Yuzu shrimp ($9.25). Probably not the best combination of apps to order (the flavors had no business being together, lol), but we wanted to try it. The Sautéed Calamari was excellent, loved it and would highly recommend. Cooked perfectly so that it retained its "chew", not overcooked at all. When we asked the server for his recommendation between the fried calamari and sautéed calamari, he mentioned that the squid used for the sautéed app was of a much higher quality. It was delicious. Like really really good, I would even say amazing. The Yuzu shrimp was good too, but considering I don't remember much about it or feel compelled to say anything about it, not as good. For entrees, I ordered the famous Miso Broiled Sea Bass ($36.95) steamed rice, asparagus and carrot tempura (which sounds boring, but hey now, try it, really good). The sea bass was cooked perfectly. For those of you who frequent Roy's and order their Misoyaki Butterfish and wonder how this compares.....I would still say Roy's is a tad better from a miso flavor perspective, but this is pretty darn good too. :) My hubby ordered the Grilled Florida Keys Hogfish ($27.50) with crispy coconut polenta, French haricot, papaya lemongrass sauce, tropical fruits salsa - he enjoyed it. Some things to note about the hogfish - a mild whitefish served with the skin, cooked perfectly, very tropical and refreshing flavor, the crispy coconut polenta was flavorful, an overall good dish. As I said before, the service was outstanding, we were always checked on and our water glasses never went empty. We never had to sit with empty plates in front of us for too long and if we needed something, it always felt like the server was there...but when we didn't need anything, he was nowhere to be found. They have service nailed for sure. It was either the Mojito or the great meal, but I forgot we were smashed in like sardines with other diners and had a great meal. We will definitely back...next time, we'll bring the kids as it is also pretty kid friendly. Overall, a great Naples restaurant. Highly recommend. read more

OK. Last night my friend and I had dinner at USS Nemo. Was looking forward to a great seafood meal. Well, it didn't happen. I had their signature sea bass and my friend had grouper. My sea bass was tasteless, as if they made it in a pressure cooker too long. No flavor. My friend's grouper was deep fried in a thick batter, bite sized pieces. Too much batter but did have some taste. Their saki list was way too long. I chose the median priced saki. Not what I am use to drinking. The bread that was served was so hard crusted that we could not bite through. We were the first to be served for dinner dining. Bread must have been day old and microwaved to warm. (Bread at next table seem to have fresh baked bread) And the noise level...... so loud we couldn't have an easy discussion. The service was fair and not too friendly. I like smiles........... I'd say if you want to dine out and pay $100+ go somewhere else you are familiar with for quality, quiet dining. read more
