    blackened hog fish house salad
    Josephine M.

This is a hidden gem. It is right off US 41 nested behind a couple apartment buildings and next to a community pool. There was landscaping and a pedestrian bridge on your way to the restaurant. You feel like you are in a resort. Their signature dish is fried hogfish sandwich. Hogfish is a type of white fish and you can't catch by pole. A few of my group went with the sandwich. It looks really good and they all said that was great. I tried the blackened hogfish with the house salad. They had the best house salad in town. All is all, food and service was great. Price is a little steep because of the resort environment.

Cute little place tucked in a resort. We started with a crab cake, which was pretty good. I had a house salad with grilled mahi mahi and goat cheese instead of bleu cheese and it was to die for! Sooooo good, and light enough to not feel like an actual hog. My husband had the halibut with Parmesan risotto and polished it off in record time. Service was great; vibe was solid. I'd definitely come back.

We were looking for a fun place to have a nice lunch while vacationing in Naples and we came across great Yelp reviews for Hogfish Harry's ! So we went. People in the area definitely know about the reputation of this restaurant. It was packed ! I really wanted to try the signature Hogfish sandwich but I was distracted by their blackened triggerfish special, which was very good. Fries were also cooked to perfection. The decor is adorable with hogfish hanging all over. They also had a big bar crowd... wish i lived closer. This was a fun place and the food was very good.

The best dish for sure. The triple tail.

Had a great dinner at Hogfish Harry's. Started with the coconut shrimp and crab cake--both were delicious. The tripletail entrée was the standout of the night, perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the yellow-edged Gulf grouper special was also excellent. Everything we ordered was on point. Pro tip: ask for the fresh bread they bring to the table--it comes out warm and the butter just melts into all the little nooks. So good. Big shout-out to our server Milan--super friendly, professional, and really made the night even better. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

#1 this is not a dive, nor is it $$ expensive. Whoever ranked this is an imbecile. $13.00 for a gin and tonic? Huge markup for any salad protein additions doubling the price is not $$. This place is $$$ at least. Not easy to spot, as the address is for a huge resort/condo/whatever. Find the entrance, and you've found the pool side restaurant and its ridiculously small sign. I was served and drank the first gin and flat tonic. Same price as the next G&T? Meh, ok. The main reason to come here is hogfish, which is speared and hunted. Wonderful fish, but I wouldn't return to eat it with $13.00 gin. No music, but a great view of the pool and residents using it. I'm guessing most of the high reviews come from them.

The hogfish is simply delicious. Far too few restaurants serve this tasty fish and Hogfish Harry's does it right. I enjoyed the sandwich very much. The salads are delicious too. Make a visit. You won't regret it.

Blackened grouper special with parmesan risotto

The restaurant is weirdly located in a residential area, but once you walk to it the atmosphere is beautiful. Surrounded by a mote, there are turtles and ducks to see when you cross over the bridges. The decor is super cute inside and they have nice patios to sit outdoors. They accommodated my group of 6 easily. The service was great and all the food presented beah. I enjoyed the grouper special, which I loved the parmesan risotto it came with. Unfortunately, the grouper itself was pretty tasteless even blackened, which my friend said the same about her hogfish. The tomato app was delicious as well as the key lime pie and toffee pudding cake. Overall, we had a great experience but the fish was obviously very important at a place called Hogfish Harrys!

This is a favorite of when we visit Naples! Such a fun place with delicious food! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. This place is tucked away inside a hotel/condo community. There's a creek close by to see turtles on the way from the parking lot to the restaurant. Service was decent but the food was amazing! We were celebrating a birthday and got a slice of their homemade key lime pie. Food is delicious. We started with the fried green tomatoes and the calamari. There are many fresh seafood options. The special was Triple Tail risotto and was perfect. We also ordered the coconut shrimp and spiced Hogfish. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The food was great but what I can't stop thinking about is the coconut mojito! Very refreshing and tasty! This continues to be one of our must-visits when we are in Naples!

Guacamole was excellent, chips stale and cold so would likely pass on this next time

Service was good, manager/owner? Lenny was very welcoming and checked in on us. We will definitely be back! It is a unique location so don't drive off when you arrive...park, follow the signs, and enjoy the turtles as you cross over the bridge.

On a Monday night, we were lucky to snag a table without a reservation - they were bumping! The nonstop crowd and charming decor was a great ambience. Next, our server was amazing. He was attentive and clearly a foodie, making great recommendations. We had the shaved brussel and kale salad topped with lightly blackened hogfish, and the crispy fried hogfish (pro tip - you don't need to get it on a bun, order it fish and chips style instead!). The flavor and cooking of everything was spot on. They also had a kid's menu - our toddler killed the mac and cheese (and I appreciated it came with a small cup of fresh fruit). They also provided crayons and a coloring sheet which was great and helped us get through the meal. They offer valet parking, but it's not required. The lot is sufficiently large and you walk over a cute bridge to reach the restaurant. Glad we found this place and highly recommend!

    Blackened grouper sandwich

I think this is the definition of a hidden gem--it's tucked away in the middle of an unassuming resort but absolutely worth the (very easy) search. We got a cup of clam chowder to share as a starter and it was loaded with clams and flavor. For entrees we got the fried hogfish sandwich and the blackened grouper sandwich both had sides of fries. We live in South Florida (Fort Lauderdale) and take trips to the keys frequently--some of the best fish sandwiches we've ever had. Fish was so flaky and flavorful, highly recommend. A nice touch were the diner-style fries. Thanks for the great service, Jon!

My grouper, however, didn't quite hit the mark. It was cooked well but pretty basic, and the presentation didn't showcase the quality of the fish - I give it a 3. I also wish the mussels came with bread to soak up the delicious broth. Service was friendly, though lunch took a little longer than expected. We also noticed another customer dining indoors with a dog. It wasn't disruptive, just a little unexpected. I still love Swan River's seafood market and genuinely want the restaurant to be just as memorable. The quality is there, I think a few thoughtful touches would make a big difference.

WOW, what a disappointment!…read more Decided to come here for mother's day brunch. Like many places in Naples, a prix fix menu was standard. I gave this restaurant two stars. Not for the food. But for the service. It really should be 1.5 stars but this system doesn't allow that. Let me explain. Let's start with the appetizers. Best thing on the menu was the beet salad and goat cheese. Probably the best part of the entire meal and its presentation was fantastic. Followed by the clam chowder. Lobster bisque was pretty bad as was the ceasar salad. Onto the main items. PRIME RIB. Many ordered this but not one person liked or finished theirs. In some cases overly fatty and in others the meat was super chewy and barely flavorful. Most of prime rib from all guests was taken home to feed to the dogs. Fish was a tri-tip, overly salty but also undercooked. Desserts - Have t say the donuts were the clear winner. Key Lime Pie had a gross drizzle of raspberry sauce (While do so many restaurants do this?). Creme de pot, so sweet that your teeth hurt from eating it. Look, if you are going to charge high prices and have a prix fix menu for a special occasion like mother's day or other, then THAT menu of items better be spot on and near perfect. In this case, "M" failed miserably. Certainly won't be back.

A Hidden Gem in Downtown Naples -- Don't Sleep on This Place!…read more I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing -- the outside patio was at full capacity. I asked for a seat at the bar, and even though space is very limited, the staff went above and beyond to find me one. That kind of effort on a packed afternoon says a lot about this team. The bartender was phenomenal -- attentive, warm, and somehow managed to make every single person at that busy bar feel like they were the only guest in the restaurant. The whole staff carried that same energy. They were also wonderfully descriptive about the daily specials and menu offerings, which made ordering a pleasure rather than a guessing game. I decided to try the crab cake, and I'm so glad I did. I grew up on the East Coast eating crab, and I've had my fair share -- I've long held that Phillips in Maryland made the gold standard. I am happy to report that Captain & Crew has dethroned them in my book. This crab cake was pure lump crab meat, not overpowered by fillers or seasoning. You could actually taste the crab. The accompaniments they served alongside it elevated the whole dish even further. Thoroughly impressed. The wine pairings were equally well-curated. I took the staff's recommendations and they absolutely nailed it. A heads-up for first-timers: parking is the one small challenge. There's no convenient lot right there, so you may need to use a parking garage and walk over. Honestly? Embrace it. If you're already in Downtown Naples, it's a beautiful stroll that perfectly sets the mood before you arrive. Captain & Crew is a true hidden gem. Many people come for the fresh seafood market, but don't overlook the restaurant side -- it's absolutely worth your time. Highly recommend.

Once our server arrived, he was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. It seemed like he may have been covering several tables that evening, so we completely understood. Our meal ended up taking about 90 minutes after reservation, which was longer than we expected for a quick dinner. We shared two dozen oysters, king crab legs, the miso butterfish, and cocktail.. The oysters were fresh, though we had slightly higher expectations. The king crab was easily the standout of the meal. The miso butterfish was well prepared but a bit heavy on the sauce--I think a touch of acidity and a side of vegetables would have balanced it nicely, something to consider. Between the waterfront breeze, friendly hosts, and our server's hospitality, we still had an enjoyable evening. It may have simply been a busy night for the service team. We'd gladly give Syren another try.
