Last evening our party of 8 chose to eat dinner at Old Vines in Naples. The restaurant is very nice and higher end when it comes to food and pricing. I will start off with the pro's of our visit. The food was on point. We all loved the food and dined on chicken Milanese, short ribs, pork chops, steak and pasta. Every person in our party agreed the food was absolutely delicious. Kudos to the chef! We chose to dine outside. The weather was perfect and the ambiance was very nice as well. It was a very nice environment. There was only one con and to us this is a big one. If this was not a con I would have given 5 stars. The waiter, Ted. He was quick to greet us when we arrived and we appreciated that. He went to take our drink order and the whole table noticed the attitude. Right away he had an air to him that made us all feel like he was annoyed by us being there. We ordered drinks and someone wanted to add a diet coke to the order and he made the comment, "Before i go back is there anything else you want?" That comment could be said nicely but it was said in a snarky tone that made us feel even more that we were annoying him. When I went to order chicken Milanese I asked him to explain it a little more, I was just looking for something like if you like chicken marsala this would be similiar, or whatever would have been appropriate. Instead, Ted told me that it was in the description and literally read it to me. I was insulted and very much annoyed at this point. After I ordered my chicken Milanese I decided to add the fingerling potatoes and he somewhat rolled his eyes at the addition. There were a few more snafoos along the way but those could have been forgiven if the waiter was nice, somewhat talkative and had a personality. At the very end of the night someone asked for a box. He took their food and boxed it. There were several of us with quite a bit of food on our plates still. Instead of saying who here will need a box he just acted like no one else wanted their food boxed. I had more than half of my food left. He said who else needs their food boxed but didn't look around the table, just took the next plate that said they want theirs boxed. I tried to say I wanted mine but he walked away. When he came back I said I would like mine boxed as well. He said in an extremely annoyed tone, "Anything else I can do for you while I'm in the back?" At this point I would not hold my tongue any longer. You don't go to a very nice expensive restaurant to be treated that way. I said, "Do we annoy you? You have been giving us an attitude all night. I don't appreciate the way you have made us feel. If you don't like people then this kind of job isn't the best for you." He then tried to backtrack. He said oh no, I just asked who needed their meals boxed and I kept having to go back and forth. I said I tried to tell you but you didn't give me the opportunity. He asked if I wanted to see the manager and I told him no but was obviously not happy. So the final straw was our check. He didn't ask if we are all on one or how it would be handled. He just brought out the check and put it on the table. Someone in our party said can this be split. He said yes it can be and asked who was together so he could split it. He was gone for 10 minutes and returned with the check not even close to being right. So when he came back we ran back through who is together again and what each person got. He disappeared for another 15 minutes. Then the female manager stopped over and told us that there are some problems with the check that they are having a hard time figuring it out. So she asked once again who was together. We went through the check once again. She said give me a minute and I will quickly get your checks to you. After about 10 more minutes she came back to the table. Some checks were right and some still wrong but they paid it anyways. The manager kept apologizing profusely but didn't offer us anything. Not even as gesture of good will to get us to come back. In fact, she was trying to place an extra basket of $14 french fries on someone's bill and no one ordered them. Instead of just wiping them out she spent time on it. This night could have gone completely different if the service was different. If the waiter had a better personality, the night would have been light hearted and many things could have been forgiven. I don't go out and spend $200 on dinner for two people to feel like I'm annoying the restaurant when I have basic requests. We loved Mercato and will definitely visit again but next time we will choose a different restaurant. read more

Old Vines is beautiful inside, with sultry black walls, red velvet curtains, and chandeliers. There's a semi private room where you could host a small party of 8-10 people. The bar is also very atmospheric. The service was good, and they accommodated our request to substitute some of the vegetable sides that came with our entrees for others. The food was mixed however: Burrata with peaches: nice salad on a bed of arugula Salmon and tuna tartar: the salmon and tuna were good but the sauce was too sweet and overwhelmed the fish Miso caramel glazed salmon: salmon was excellent and perfectly cooked, but the base of potato and vegetables it was set on were too oily Za'atar crusted tuna: my friend's tuna was not great quality and had sinews running through it. While our server was kind enough to substitute the carrots for spinach in our dishes, she brought us literally a tablespoon of spinach to share, and charged us $13 for it. My first time at Old Vines was just average overall, but I'm hoping the next time will be better. read more

While vacationing in Naples, we were very close to Mercato so we walked around and decided on Old Vines. Absolutely did not disappoint. We sat outside and Ava took our order. Old Vines didn't have a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and Ava recommended their Sauvignon Blanc from Chile which was fantastic and chilled properly. We walked in at 1230 with a brunch reso and we were only people in there but it's so pretty and boy do they have it right with the food. Worth every penny I had 2 of the kiwi, 2 different mimosas the cherry apples was my fave. I had the cereal drink too and it was a hit. Super good deal and so tasty. We had been wanting to try Old Vines for a while but some of the prices kept me away, compared to other establishments. September is Sizzle month and the perfect opportunity to try new places due to the specials. We arrived a bit early and found 2 seats at the bar which we preferred over a table. I ordered the green goose which is a spritz and my husband had a Peroni. For appetizers we had the tuna and salmon sashimi and the mussels. Both were decent portions and packed with flavor. As our main entree, I had the beef tenderloin and my husband had the tagliatelle bolognese. Again the portions were generous. The desserts we chose were the olive oil cake and the dark chocolate torte. The ambiance is dark and cozy. I will say I found the music to be rather out of place. They were playing classics performed by some random person which reminded me of when my children used to listen to Kidz Bop. Went there last night and was not impressed with the food ! Ordered the pork chop dish and it was not even close to good and sent it back ! Waitress then brought beef tenderloin and actually was no better because neither dish was restaurant quality meat . I would think that she would notify a manager and he would come over to table but that never happened ! These dishes are close to 50$ apiece and were close to Mel's diner rather than a high end restaurant ! Very disappointing. read more

We first discovered Old Vines in Kennebunkport, ME. It was a cool vibe. I understand the owners have sold that to concentrate on their restaurant in the Mercato. We are so lucky! Four of us visited 10/14/25 and had a delightful meal. Courtney was professional and friendly, raving about the chef partner and owners. They have extended the Sizzle meals through the end of October and are supporting Breast Awareness month, so run to support them. I had the peach burrata salad, that was fresh and had a lot of flavor. For my main, I ordered the mussels in saffron sauce. Both excellent. I also sampled the Cork Dork wine flight and enjoyed two whites and two reds from different global areas. Truly a fun way to sample. Other diners with me ordered mussels, tenderloin and the chicken Milanese. Not one complaint. We were not ignored or rushed through dinner. We will be patronizing again. read more

My wife and I went there last night for Valentine's Day. The meal was AMAZING. It was a prix fixe menu with ample choices for each course. The portions were generous. All courses were paired perfectly with wines. I would have gone and been happy with any of the courses as main meal. We went ti Old Vines for dinner tonight. The food was spectacular, and by far one of the best restaurants I've been to in Naples. I find that most of the restaurants in Naples are fancy and have nice ambiance, bur provide relatively bland and mediocre food. However, the cuisine here was delicious and well flavored. We ordered the tuna tartare and crab cakes as appetizers. they were succulent and highly flavorful, although a little pricey (each $20+). i ordered the new york strip as my main meal, which was equally flavorful and uniquely spiced with asian fusion type sauces and spices. Also, the service was impeccable--fast AND friendly, not something you see a lot in Naples. Highly recommend! read more

I had reservations as to how good a mall restaurant could be, but this far exceeded them! The food and drink menu is very expansive and everything we had was great. For drinks we got two special cocktails (Black Magik and First Class) and a bottle of Pinot noir from Oregon. After my dad raves about his experience at the bar, we all went to check it out. On a Saturday night there was a nice crowd of people dining outdoors as well as indoors. We were seated along the side of the restaurant which happened to be my favorite spot. The receptionist was super friendly and we were seated way before the estimated wait time. Now onto the star of the show - our waitress. While our check said her name is Julia, I'm not certain. I do know she recently moved from PA. Regardless she was awesome! She made our whole dining experience that much better. She was patient with our questions, knowledgeable on the menu and just downright nice. Stopped here on a recent Saturday trip to the Mercato. We were greeted by friendly staff who helped recommend items on the menu we may want to try. We started with the Gougeres. They were pretty tasty but maybe a bit heavy in texture to what I'd expect in a Gougere. My husband had the Duck Confit Hash which he declared one of the best things he'd eaten in a local restaurant all year! I had the Faroe Island Salmon with Smoked Parsnips & Farro. It was delicious & the salmon was cooked to perfection with a crisp skin. We were too full to sample deserts. The placed was empty & we were the only people inside which kind of surprised us as the quality of the food is truly excellent. My only comment to management is the music for a Saturday lunchtime was pumping dance music. Don't get me wrong - it was a great soundtrack & the mix was good. It almost made me want to get up & dance my a** off! However it was pretty loud & we didn't think was a suitable background soundtrack to a leisurely lunch. JMO!!! Despite that comment I'd highly highly recommend this place to anyone who likes good food & we will definitely be returning for dinner! read more

This is probably our 5th 'visit' & we will return yet again. The food is amazing. Having small plate choices along with typically sized entrees is a game changer as my husband doesn't eat much but loves food. For the 1st time, he had the scallops and declared they were the best in the area! I finally tried something different pairing the scrumptious butternut squash soup with crab cakes, also scrumptious but it is a small dish more like an appetizer portion. Perfect combo. Service was excellent with Samantha who waited until presenting the check to thank us for making her first day a good one!
