We ate at Spanky's yesterday evening. Got there early enough for the specials. 4 to 5;30 PM, I have always enjoyed my dinners at Spany's. I had the full rack of ribs with a sweet potatoe and the salad bar. My wife had the prime rib , sweet potatoes and salad bar. Spanky's has the best soup and salad bar around, it has everything imaginable on it. We live at the very south end of Marco Island and it is a bit of a drive, however always worth it. They have a great menu with a bunch of wonderful items on it. Great nostalgic atmosphere in the decor. A fun place. The food came out hot and waitstaff was first class. read more

If you want to enjoy dinner with a themed "Little Rascals" setting, Spanky's at the Airport Pulling Road or at Exit 105, Golden Gate Parkway, is a place to go. We went to a Thursday dinner and the parking lot is packed. Spanky's is a popular and an institution in Naples. The service here is efficient, professional and friendly! At the bar, you feel like in a "Naples Cheers". We did not make a reservation. With a short wait, we were sit on the inside where you can sense old books, aeronautical items, vintage car and other antiques. There is a patio with tables near a canal but we preferred the inside nostalgia surrounding! We ordered a Darla Prime Ribs sweet potato and Seafood Special. Wife loves her Darla Prime rib (12 oz) au jus. It was huge portion and end up took half home! Seafood Special was a shrimps, mussels, and scallop over angel hair pasta! Both well prepared and delectable! I took two trips to their salad bar on a converted Model T car. Will we return to Spanky's? The answer is a resounding Yes! We visited from out of town and this was our first time. The inside of the restaurant is very unique and I've never seen anything like it. The service was just okay. We ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer and they were big, and very good. I ordered a fish sandwich and it came with coleslaw and a pickle. I added the salad bar for $10 extra. The sandwich was HUGE. It was good, but i was hoping the breading would have had a little more flavor. The salad bar was good, didn't have a big selection but I enjoyed it. My fiancé had the buffalo wings and they were very good and HOT! I enjoyed his more than mine. read more

We visited Spanky's for a friend of ours Celebration of Life. We were both impressed and touched that they closed the restaurant down for the gathering and the staff even came in on their day off to take care of us. The service was top notch and it was appreciated that they would volunteer to help on their day off. The atmosphere is very cool and eclectic, it was fun to look around at everything on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. It gives off a very nice vibe. Unfortunately, we cannot comment on the food, as it was brought in for the service, but checking out the menu you could tell they offer a wide variety of options. They food must be great because I remember coming here in the late 80's so that tells you something is great there. read more

We stopped at Spanky's Speakeasy after touring the Revs Institute and were immediately charmed by its quirky, nostalgic decor. It's clearly a Naples classic, with vintage flair and a playful vibe that made it a fun place to land after our museum visit. I ordered the tuna melt, and it was absolutely delicious--crispy, melty, and flavorful. The rest of our group of six mostly ordered burgers, and everyone enjoyed their meals once they arrived. That said, we did end up waiting nearly an hour for our food, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. It was around 2:00 pm, so we understood it was between lunch and dinner, but we didn't receive much communication or explanation about the delay. If you have time to linger and appreciate the eccentric atmosphere, Spanky's has a lot of character and some tasty bites. I am a regular, but not so much during season; however I have been craving the salad bar & was going to get a Prime Rib to go. Kimmy, (who I know) finally waits on me, which I am thankful for friends at the bar for letting her know I was there.. It wasn't that busy at the time...after the lunch period; I ordered a Pinot Grigio, rare prime rib which she said would put it in right b4 I leave...still NEVER received my wine. I ordered a patty melt recently and asked if they could cook it medium rare. Nice and pink in the center. I was told no problem. Well as you can guess it came out well done. I wasn't pleased. The way it was cut in half was also an issue. The patty was so small that when they cut the bread in half they cut the patty in like a 75/25 ratio. It's the simplest things that can affect the meal. I showed it to my server and just kindly asked her to remind the cook what medium rare means. It was very dry. I'm not the kind of person to send something back. I either don't go back or order something else the next time. I should've ordered the tuna melt. It's hard to screw that up. read more

This is a very unique restaurant in bar. The bar is like an actual old speakeasy. It's very cool bar with a curve. The restaurant is truly unique. There are antiques hanging from the ceiling all over the place. The seller bar is an actual old pickup truck, looks like an old delivery truck up sometime. The service is exceptionally well very nice and knowledgeable. I had a sandwich that I probably should have selected something else. It was their special for the day. It was a prime with melted cheese and onions was not my thing, but I am sure the remainder of the items on the menu are very good. But it's really cool to sit there and look at all the unique things they have hanging and placed all around. One of the very cool things was a round bar like a poker table With four antique barber chairs. That was really cool old gas station pumps and the one thing I really did like is the menu is a fairly small menu. Not too many items that you have to rack your brain and think about. Yup we made it. We arrived at 8:30, only to find out they closed at 9. Yup, I should've checked. So this review is based on almost closing time. But nonetheless we were seated with no problem. Waitress was very efficient. She noticed our special needs son and was understanding and kind to him. Salad bar was nothing grand, but it was enough and very clean. We got the end of the night batch, but again everything was clean and they left the bar up until the last minute. Am sure if we were there earlier it would have been full. Wife had the chicken picatta with linguine. Sauce a little "oniony" for her taste, but she still enjoyed. I was torn between a burger and steak and potatoes, so I just got the chopped steak and potato. Mushrooms sauce was on the cold side, but again not bad. Son had the chicken fingers and fries. On the portion side, theirs are plentiful. Especially the Chicken fingers (huge). The ambiance was nostalgic, the food and the service was very good. (Sorry I missed servers name she was great). We went to Spanky's Easter Sunday evening. The night started ok, we were seated early and our server Sherell quickly greeted us and was very attentive. The salad bar was fresh, stocked, and had plenty of choices. It all went downhill after that. My wife's wine was a very poor pour and my mixed drink tasted "off". Likely the club soda had the terrible taste. We both ordered the specials. I ordered the turkey dinner, and my wife ordered the lamb dinner. Neither were very good at all. The lamb dinner was cold, and the spices were so spicy hot it was inedible and was sent back. The replacement was warm and just ok (without the spices). My turkey dinner was not very good at all, but I never send food back. The turkey was in little pieces (mostly all dark meat pieces) that I eat it with a spoon, and the string beans were rubbery. The little cup (cap full) of cranberry sauce was sitting in liquid - not very appetizing at all. The mash potatoes, warm at best, were unremarkable. We have been to Spanky's 5 or 6 times and liked it, mostly because of the friendly employees and the fun atmosphere. We are up in the air on whether or not we will return. read more

Stopped in today to have a late lunch, decided to have the pork sandwich and the mushroom appetizer. Received great service from my waitress Sherell and food runner David. Sherell checked on me just the correct amount of times making sure had everything I needed. The only small issue was for me a little less sauce on the sandwich, but that was my preference only, made the sandwich a little messy at first,still enjoyed the sandwich. I am picky on my coleslaw, but I can say that one I've tasted in a long time other than homemade. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor of the restaurant. Had the Philly cheese steak sandwich. It was a roast beef sandwich. Another order was the chicken Parmesan. Ok except for the grated powered Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. Salad bar had canned peaches. Tasted old. The rest of the salad was good. Pink Prosecco was watered down. Ordered two cheeseburgers to go. Medium well. They were raw. Service was good. Not a fan. Spanky themed restaurant with great decor located in Naples on a canal. Indoor and outdoor seating. Salad bar and menu with varied offerings. For appetizers we had the mozzarella sticks, they were just ok. And the potato skins which were very good. Husband had the corned beef on marbled rye. It was good. I had a hamburger and asked for it well done. The first time it came out bloody, even the bread was soaked with blood. The waitress was nice and took it back. It came back the same way. I showed it to her and she took it back again and returned saying the cook said he can't cook it anymore. It was pink and bloody in the center. So I didn't eat it and returned it. The indoor seating is best as the decor is great to look at and the seatings are unique. Outdoor is ok but it's on a busy road that's noisy and the canal doesn't offer much to see. If you're there for a good not fancy meal you've found what may become your favorite Naples eatery. Our first visit was on a Thursday, prime rib night to our surprise. $25 for a very good PR, potato and salad bar. Monday, BBQ rib night. Their ribs will compete with anybody. Service outstanding! A strange restaurant. I don't think that I'm their typical clientele (vegetarian - not a huge fan of a fully fried dinner). But I had a lot of fun eating there. The place is a sight to behold with tons of tchotchkes and oddities strewn about. The place is always bumping, too, with all sorts of interesting patrons. People watching here is great. That being said, it can get cramped and if you have a walker it's even worse (a fellow at the table next to us had to get creative putting his away). I had a fried fish sandwich. Size was generous and the price was Naples-fair. But it tasted more like old fryer grease than fish. Husband had a steak sandwich that he said was okay. If you order filet mignon, don't expect to get actual filet mignon. We've not been here for a long time for this exact reason; other than their fish being rancid and their margaritas being premixed from a 5 dollar bottle from the liquor store. Ordered the filet. Tasted like they let the grill go out, then tried to light it again. Tasted like lighter fluid. Ordered it medium, was rare, not even close to what I ordered. I've been in Naples for 21 years and the quality of the food there has gone way down since the restaurant has changed hands. This is not the only time the food was bad, no more.
