All the years that I have been in Naples, I have never tried this restaurant. The staff was very nice from the hostess to the waitress. The place is very clean and it is a 50's and 60's throwback to an old Florida eating establishment. Wood paneling on walls and tables that have seashells under the glass tops. All that is OK. The food was unfortunately not so great. The clam chowder, broth was at least not thick and gummy, but because the recipe has bacon in it, it tasted like bacon potato soup. Not clam. The grouper sliders would have been good, but the seasoning was impossibly salty. The mini fried seafood combination was fresh and here we go with the but, breading has no crunch, it is just some kind of coating. The grouper bites were dry, the shrimp were small, the oysters, I gave to my wife. I do not like oysters. The cocktail sauce was ketchup with a miniscule bite. The tartar sauce was mayo with again, just a slight tart flavor. The salad was tiny ,but, fresh. It was served in a cold,small, shallow bowel. The baked potato was good, served with a side of butter and sour cream. Oh, at the beginning, I forgot to mention thaat we were brought 4 hush puppies that were tasty. We just left Kelly's and had an amazing dinner! Everything was so, so delicious. Kelly's sister makes the dressings and pie herself, and you can tell! I got the grilled grouper and I am obsessed and worried if I have grouper again it won't be as good! My husband who doesn't even like hush puppies LOVED them here! I was skeptical. We came in in a Wednesday night and the owner?/manager said they were short a bartender and a server. After a minute or two we were shown to a table and perused the menu. There were a decent number of options, with most being grilled or fried fish of various types. We ordered drinks and decided on our entrees. I got a Silver Margarita, and it was good. My wife got a split of Freixenet, but it thought it would be Brut, but it was Prosecco. She tried a few sips and asked the server for a Pinot Gris. The server asked if she liked the sparkling, and she told her it was not what she expected, so the server generously took it off the bill. Anyway, we ordered our food and our salads and hush puppies came out. The hush puppies were excellent...slightly sweet, fluffy, and light. Our server brought 4, and after we devoured them, she offered to bring more, which we declined so we could eat our meals! The house salad was good, with a lettuce mix that was heavy on the iceberg, but also had peppers, zucchini, celery, tomatoes, and radishes. The blue cheese dressing was also good. My wife had Cole slaw, which comes 'disassembled' as you stir in the salad dressing yourself. It was good-better than the standard fare. For dinner, my wife got the Shrimp Creole. It was somewhat spiced, and was a tasty combination with a rich, tomato sauce. I got the Grilled Grouper. I was concerned it would be too bland, but it was a beautiful piece of dish, cooked perfectly, and with a squirt of lemon it was fantastic. We sat inside with a view out and there are also tables outside around the dock. The tables are shadow boxes with sand and shells inside. Our server was amazing, and she apologized for the 'slow' service due to staffing issues, but she did a great job. One of the oldest venues in the Naples area, I consider this the best place for stone crab. Old Florida ambience; nothing fancy here; just come as you are. Staff is very friendly. Small but surprisingly good wine list. Kelly himself will lead you to your table. Outdoor waterside dining is available. This place gets 5 stars from us! Came here on a Saturday night before a show and wow... seafood is delicious! I had the Scottish salmon and it was superb! Husband had the peel and eat shrimp which melted in his mouth! The hush puppies were the best with just enough crunch! We will definitely be back! This is an interesting one. Kelly's is clearly a relic of "Old Naples" and "Old Florida." It was a fish camp before I was born and has the time worn interior to prove it. As a living museum, it rates a 5. Now as a restaurant, it rates more like a 3. Good food but not great. Ditto for the drinks. Service from the waiter was also a 3 but the busboy is the hardest working person in the place. If you are looking for a glam place to impress your companion--5th avenue is 2 blocks west. Before going, read reviews here. Have lived in Naples for 20 years but had never been. Saw many well written reviews also stating the bad reviews were "young people" etc. Eh? Not so much. Went w my 15yo son. Can see how this is a "you love it if you've always come here" place. Very nice staff- seemed they'd all worked there for a long time. "Old Florida" decor. Sat outside and wasn't buggy as I thought it may be. The food though? It was fine. Not inedible but not really good. Portions were large. One frozen drink for me, 2 appetizers and 2 entrees? I'm used to Naples pricing and am totally fine with it. This, however? We could have had a same # apps/entrees at numerous other places, with a much better meal for same, or less $. Overpriced and not great. Hate to put that about a family run restaurant... but that's my experience. My 15yo said the same, very nicely, to just me, while we were there. Tonight was a special night. It was my fiancée's birthday and we were going to the Naples Botanical Gardens light show, so we needed a place to have an early dinner. Unfortunately it was a really rainy night. So a friend had recommended Kelly's Fish House. We got there fairly early around 5:00 and we're seated promptly. The restaurant had an older wooden decor and there were beautiful XMAS lights all over. We decided to sit outside near the small bar overlooking the water. There is an ample overhang, in case of rain. Laurie, our waitress was so friendly and attentive. She brought our drinks and an appetizer of calamari, which was warm and deep fried with a side of cocktail sauce and lemon. While we decided what we wanted, Laurie brought out a freshly deep fried order of hush puppies that were too good to resist. She made me a fresh pot of fresh coffee when I ordered. We all began our dinners with Caesar Salads topped with fresh anchovies. My entree was grilled snapper almondine, with asparagus and a baked potato. My friend ordered the grilled grouper, and the two guys had the fried seafood platter. The platter consisted of deep fried shrimps, scallops, oysters, grouper bites and a half of a lobster tail. All of our entrees were delicious! We ended with a slice of homemade key lime pie with a candle on top and we sang "Happy Birthday!" Okay ... right off the bat ... yes, I know the décor here is straight out of 1955 (and probably hasn't been dusted in that long). However, if you can get past the 'charming vintage' vibe, the seafood is good and fresh. You probably cannot get much fresher because there are literally a few boats parked next to the restaurant which unload fresh fish and crab daily. I've had Stone crabs everywhere from Joe's in Miami to hotel bars and the ones I had here at Kelly's are the best. The owner himself told me that the boats come in from Sanibel Island each day and I believe him. The prices were also fairly reasonable ... Medium claws cost $35 for 10 (and include an inedible salad and overdone hush puppies). Here's an off script tip ... in regard to Stone crab claws, you'll hear a lot of rumors about the big ones being too tough. I've never had jumbo size (although they do sell them here) not because I worry about their toughness but because I read that a medium size order has just as much meat ... it's just a little more work to get at it. I was more than satisfied with my medium sized claws (although I think the owner switched some to large because it was the end of the night, as they looked big) The crab meat was as fresh as could be. I debated about getting them warm or cold. Glad I chose cold ... the warm is a unique find but I think heating them makes the meat stick to the shell a bit more, making them harder to eat. These are not a date food ... you'll get sloppy and smelly and eventually, you'll find yourself sucking meat out, gnawing on claws, etc. But the end result is worth it ... a very unique taste. In addition to the stone crab claws, Kelly's serves all kinds of fish and seafood. It's all very fresh and the menu is selected based on the season. Is it fancy? No. I wouldn't order anything fried here based on the condition of the hush puppies, which looked and felt as hard as a rock. The salad dressing comes in a big vat that other people have used (who knows who dipped their fork in?) and the lettuce was fairly old. The wait staff was friendly as was the owner who was nice enough to talk a little bit about fishing with me and how they select their fish for the menu. The atmosphere will not impress unless you love vintage décor. However, the seafood is (and should be) the star of the show. I recommend it to anyone looking for some Florida seafood who isn't fussy about the other stuff. read more

We went on a Friday evening and managed to get a table for five with a view of the water. The ambiance of the place is very pleasant. The waitress was very friendly and we were served right away. We each had the lime in the coconut as a drink to start off just for fun. The drink was rich and creamy with quite a bit of alcohol. For the meal we had the sliders and shrimp creole. Three of us just had dinner here this evening and I can't say enough good things about this classic old school seafood restaurant. I have dined at Kelly's several times over the years and it has not lost a step. The atmosphere is more Old Cape Cod than Naples. The oysters we all had were large, briny, cold and delicious. Our entrees of fried sea scallops and fried oysters were delicious - the scallops were very large, lightly fried and sweet. Along with the entrees were served decadently delicious fritters, with choice of salads, slaw and potatoes. A lot of value along with the quality here. Service was spot-on! So glad to see Kelly's open again after the hurricane. Some of the very best food in Naples. read more
