Now that the "season" is over, we decided to try this restaurant. It was our first visit and the question we asked ourselves -- "why did we wait so long to have lunch at this restaurant?" How fortunate for us that we enjoyed our delicious selections. Their menu is varied and easy on the wallet. We ordered the I had ordered their Hot & Crunchy Grouper pricing at $19.95. The grouper "balls" were deep fried (not oily) and hot and crunchy with pineapple slaw, candied sesame pecans, steamed rice and creamy-mango sauce (can't wait to go back for lunch and order this dish again). My hubby ordered Nemo's Snapper Fish Tacos (2) priced at $18.95 and served with Caribbean rice, warm tortilla (Wheat or Corn) green cabbage, lime, queso fresco cheese, pickled onion condiments selection and creamy apple salad. First and last time. I should have known better--the place was completely empty. The menu was extremely limited, featuring a bizarre assortment of Asian seafood. I ordered their so-called specialty: the Nemo's Ultimate Miso Sea Bass--advertised as a "legendary signature dish served with a citrus-ginger butter sauce and asparagus." It arrived at my table practically frozen. After sending it back, I ordered the ginger steamed snapper, which was completely flavorless and tasted like cardboard. Doesn't look like much from the outside since it's in a strip mall, but once you step inside, it's actually really quaint and quiet, definitely not what you'd expect. We started with the hummus plate and bread, which was a nice way to kick things off. The flavors in the appetizer sampler were solid. One downside: they don't have ranch, which was kind of a bummer. The lobster bisque was okay--not bad, but a little too sweet for my taste. The main dishes totally made up for it. The Mahi Mahi linguine was full of flavor (lots of garlic in a good way) and the tuna was cooked perfectly. Service was quick and food came out hot. Came here for dinner during a visit to Naples. The service was great but the food was just okay. The calamari appetizer was mostly heavily breaded tiny pieces of actual calamari. The lobster soup was ok but portions were tiny compared to the price. Fish tacos were the same. Not enough bang for the buck. The fish special was a crusted grouper over risotto. It tasted ok, but the risotto had pieces of undercooked rice. The place seemed a bit rundown too. Overall, I would not visit again. read more

Upper class ambiance with a relaxed high end menu. Food is a delicious seafood/asian hybrid. They have a good sized menu with a lot of options for everyone's taste. From salads, a plethora of different tacos, poke bowls and house made desserts, you'll have a tough time making a decision. They're known for their large wine selection but they also have a handful of craft beers on draft. The Bartender also served as our waiter and he was courteous and prompt. For being located in a plaza they have a ton of outdoor seating and if you're coming for dinner, make sure you make a reservation because it gets busy! read more

We visit USS Nemo at least once each winter when we're down in southwest Fla. It never disappoints. From the service to the food it is first class. Our waiter last night was Mario and he was a true professional. Making suggestions, pacing our meal and keeping our beverages topped off - he was great. We started with the grilled Mediterranean octopus appetizer - very tasty and well seasoned. I chose the Spicy Miso Sea Bass while my dining companions ordered the Volcano Yellow Tail Snapper and the Ahi Tuna. Everyone loved their meal and we all sampled everything. USS Nemo has been a family favorite for us for many years. We went back last month for the first time in over 15 years and was a little bit disappointed. On the plus side, the food was still top notch. The Miso Sea Bass was still incredible and melts in your mouth like butter. But service was sloooooow. The restaurant is also super tight now which I don't recall. So it was a bit uncomfortable. Still a family favorite but attention to detail seems to be falling behind. read more

A unique place that is very worth experiencing, this ship themed restaurant serves the best Chilean Sea-bass I've had! They also offer various other menu items one of which I had was the lobster bisque. I was pleased with the amount of lobster they used as other restaurants I've been to have had almost none in the soups. Also they start the tables with a tasty bread, hummus, sea weed and vegetable plate. Servers were quick and attentive. The drink menu is limited to beer and wine but they do have wine cocktails that's do the trick. I'll definitely come back again for the food. We loved our meal at USS Nemo- we had a family of 6 and it is expensive but we knew that going in. You get what you pay for, because the experience was wonderful. Our favorite by far was the octopus appetizer. We also had the calamari and tuna pizza appetizer that was incredible. I ordered the taco sampler as my meal and it was small but just enough for me because three mini tacos were perfect after the apps. My favorite being the scallop taco. So tasty! They also serve warm bread and an appetizer plate that I voices seaweed salad and other accompaniments. My husband had the cioppino which had a rissoto on the bottom. Yum! And my son had the yellowtail snapper that he said was top 10 dishes of his life. Says a lot! Two of my girls had the shrimp salad and was huge! This unassuming gem located in a strip-mall serves up the most delicious sea bass I have ever had. The decor is eclectic and gives you the vibe that you're inside of a submarine. We go every Christmas, and for the holidays they have Christmas trees hanging upside down from the ceilings. It's super fun. The menu is seafood meets Asian flare. You'll find delicious items like seaweed salad, General Tso's Chicken, Pork Belly - and then you'll also find foie gras, tuna tartare, and corn and fish chowder. There's definitely something for everyone - and the kids menu offers a higher taste profile than you'll find at most restaurants. Now for the star of the show: the sea bass. Trust me on this and just go with the OG Miso Broiled Seabass. I've tried the spicy and it's not as perfect (though still delicious) as the reg. This is honestly so bomb I've never tried anything else on the menu. A few of our friends also love the General Tso's. If there ever was a time where I come two times in one day and could try something new, I'd go for the Volcano Snapper or the Gingersteamed Sea Bass, maybe the Miso Ribeye. We went to this restaurant on a short getaway to Naples. My daughter had eaten there many times before and loves the restaurant and wanted to take us. The atmosphere was very pleasant, but I thought the food was just OK and nothing exciting. The best thing they served was the bread which seemed like it was made in house and was delicious. The bread was served with some hummus that also was excellent, but was accompanied by seaweed and kimchi neither of which I eat. At first glance, the menu looked very appealing, except for most of the dishes were prepared with things I don't like so it was difficult to choose. In the end, I ordered the ultimate sea bass which was served with a miso sauce. I had never had sea bass before, and it was pleasant enough, not fishy at all, but served with risotto that was undercooked, and I couldn't eat it. Also, it was supposed to be lobster risotto and I could detect zero lobster in it despite the server telling me there were chunks of lobster in it. I didn't see any. To the restaurant"s credit, they brought me some mashed potatoes instead, and a little extra piece of the fish to make up for the risotto, but the mashed potatoes were pretty much void of any flavor. While the sea bass was not offensive to me, I don't think I would ever order it again. I much prefer Florida fish like yellowtail or grouper, my daughter absolutely loved it though, but my preferences run more to the rustic seafood places than something like this, but that's just me. The food is always delicious here, though now the price is definitely on the high end, with some entrees setting you back $50 or so. This time we tried the cioppino besides the codfish. The seafood quality and quantity is not as nice as I would expect for the price. Given its location in a strip mall I would expect a better bang for my buck. Also, the little appetizer they bring to the table is somewhat weird - some hummus on one side, and some pickled Asia slaw, some seaweed... All on a plate is just bizarre. read more

This was the second time that I have been to Nemo and it never disappoints. Food: For appetizer I had the calamari, spicy edamame and ceviche. I wasn't crazy about the edamame but it wasn't bad either. The ceviche had a nice flavor and felt very fresh. The calamari was a bit chewy but very good. For the entree I don't believe you can go wrong with any of the selections of sea bass. It is the best sea bass I've ever had. Absolutely delicious from the sauce to the asparagus and obviously the fish itself. I don't think the restaurant is a must go unless you eat this dish! Ambiance: I had a stroller and it was very tight. We made it work and the restaurant did all that they could but very tight still. My toddler loved the feeling that were were in a submarine which is what the restaurant is decorated as. OMG. That's almost all I can say, the food was so amazing. I had the Hawaiian poke, which I was hesitant to order because I could have a poke bowl anywhere but it was definitely the best I've had. The fish was so fresh and I loved the addition of the tempura onion rings. The Foie gras was rich -- in the best way possible. I wish I took pictures of everyone else's food, multiple members of our party had the miso sea bass and they all cleaned their plates. One thing to keep in mind is there's not a full bar. I made the mistake of ordering an apple "martini" and it tasted like a flintstones vitamin. Luckily, our waiter allowed me to swap it out for a glass of wine instead. I had a large portion to it For the main course. My wife ordered the coconut shrimp had a lot of shrimp, but also it was swimming in some type of sauce, the shrimp or fresh and she said it was good. USS Nemo has potential, and for an early dinner, it could be a pleasant option if you're in the area. But with a few misses on flavor combinations and a lack of refinement in certain dishes, it's not a place I'd rush back to. I found this spot while looking for a place for dinner in the area recently. I was able to make a reservation on Resy which was great. Definitely make a reservation any time you can during the busy season in Naples! Even with what seems like thousands of restaurants in town, it's a busy area with lots of people who know the best spots. We were seated right away when we arrived. It's not a super fancy spot but I felt a little under dressed in my tank top and shorts. Also, it was freezing inside! I always forget that they tend to blast the a/c in Florida. Bring a sweater or try to sit outside. The atmosphere is trying to be nice with linens but the strip mall setting is a little weird. It's also SUPER loud in the small space. There's not much room to stand while waiting but these are all small things that don't detract from my overall rating. The menu consists of several seafood options, many with an Asian twist. They also have some "land" options like steaks. I knew I wanted one of the signature sea bass dishes, while Nate and my dad opted for two different salads. We were given complimentary bread, butter, and a "hummus plate" that had seaweed salad, a type of slaw, hummus, and pickled ginger (like you'd get with sushi). I really liked this and everything was really tasty. Our entrees came out super quickly! The presentation was really nice, especially of the sea bass. I got the spicy miso sea bass which had a delicious citrus-ginger butter sauce, black rice risotto, sautéed baby bok choy, and tempura jalapeño peppers. Oh my gosh, this was so good and super flavorful! The sauce was rich and delicious. I get now why they offer extra sauce for an extra charge. I soaked it up with a final piece of bread, yum! The black rice had the perfect texture and was a nice complement. I loved the crisp bok choy and the spicy jalapeños. The fish was also cooked perfectly with a nice texture. I had a bit of the salmon from Nate's salad, but the sea bass was definitely the winner. It was so fun seeing all the dishes come out of the kitchen.
