My experience at this Post Office today was good. I came from the gym to send back some C02 tanks. I had them in the car and didn't feel like passing my house to go to my local post office. Google, directions to a Post Office near me. This one is in the cut, like in its own little cul-de-sac. If I was driving and looking, I never would have found it. Plenty of parking spaces and looked well maintained from the outside. Even when going inside, it was orderly. There was a gentleman at the window and about four people in front of me. The postal employee was explaining to the gentleman that she needed to know the country where the package was going. He didn't seem to understand, and they were both getting frustrated. The gentleman finally asked for the supervisor. The supervisor came out and handled the situation with professionalism. She explained to the gentleman that he had to complete another slip for his package; it required more detailed information. After that was settled, the line moved fairly quickly. I like that these employees actually had on Post Office attire/uniforms and they were speaking to me (not at me). I actually prefer this one to my local PO. I'll most likely try to come here instead to mail my packages. read more

Terrible Post Office. In the 13 years we've lived here, they have never once processed a "Hold Mail" order-- you know, the ones you fill out online?! We go on vacation about once/year-- it's not rocket science. I've complained to a supervisor each time, and they just shrug, like it's of no concern. read more

A big shout out off friendliness and customer service to this location ! I needed a new passport urgently, and new appointments were scheduled out for too long in all nearby locations . So I walked in on a Saturday morning first at the Hamden post office and then downtown at the main post office . Everywhere I was send away , with the excuse that they had nobody available to do it and downtown I was told first that they don't take new application on Saturdays , and then she said she is only by herself . Even there was no other customer there . So I went to my closest waverly post office as my last try ( I had already shed some tears on my drive and was just hoping that somebody would be kind and helpful) . And at waverly the post office clerk was also by herself and had just opened and there was already a short line of people waiting for her - and I had no appointment : and she just said yes ok, I will work you in ! And that's what she did ! And she was happy and friendly all along . read more

I'm in the process of sending out 24 big packs of envelopes across the country and I sent out my mail through this post office for my first stack. The clerk I encountered provided everyone great customer service and ran through the long line of customers efficiently. As for the post office, it's small and kind of hidden. I didn't mind it though since they had a parking lot and it was close to the Saturday Farmer's Market. Overall, I got everything I needed done quickly at this USPS and I recommend their service! read more

The mailboxes in their service area have been modified so anything thicker than 1" wont fit in the mailbox. This is a serious detriment to our business as we routinely send thicker stacks of paperwork. We've been forced to arrange for the postal carrier to pick up our packages and of course...no one ever shows up! So now someone has to drive to the post office EVERY DAY to mail our documents. This is a horrendous inconvenience and seriously defeats the purpose of having a mailbox out front or the option to have the postal carrier pick it up for you. read more

The worst post office I have ever been to... but unfortunately this USPS is close to work so I have been there a few times Ridiculous hours - it is only open from 10am-1:30pm, with 1 hour lunch break in the middle of the day, then 2:30pm-4pm Mon-Fri, then 10am-12pm on Sat. Government workers on our salary from our tax money hard working as usual In a sketchy area - the walk/drive there is not pleasant Old/run down location - needs renovation ASAP Worst of all... the people working the front desk all have attitude problems and seem like they are out to get the customers. Long line as always since they are only open for 5 hours a day during the week, and the staff always tries their best to give people troubles. People trying to get their mail/package need a ridiculous amount of proof (i.e. a passport AND a piece of mail with their name and address on it even though on the slip it says all you need is a proper ID... you can't get any more proper with an American passport) or giving old people with hearing problems the cold shoulders and that disgusted look on their face read more

Worst post office. Ever. It's bad enough that they staff so poorly that they have to close from 1:30-2:30 p.m. for lunch; but it's another thing to be late in coming back from lunch. Today, 10 of us were waiting at 2:40 p.m. Ten minutes past time. A customer had to knock twice, hard, and then finally a supervisor (no uniform of any kind) came out to explain that it was her very first day and she's sorry, but there's no clerk to help us. We all asked for the manager, who finally came out (again, no uniform) and couldn't even meet anyone's eyes as he said he had a clerk who needed help getting to work and she couldn't arrive on time. ONE CLERK in the entire building? This is how they are understaffed or poorly manage their staffing? THEN he said "I didn't know anyone was out here." TEN OF US WAITING inside, during COVID! As one customer said, "It's your job to know there are people out here!" There is clearly a LOT wrong at this post office. I think new management is needed. The manager today said his name was Mr. Mark Dilly. This was an embarrassment to the USPS. read more

This is the worst post office in Baltimore Maryland. I cannot understand why for two weeks last year we didn't have anybody come into our building to deliver mail and each person has their own mailbox and the mail driver try to put everybody's mail in a rental office and nobody would receive the mail because I have a rental office was closed for a week. I agree the staff has always been helpful and courteous, but omg this post office is one of the filthiest post offices ive ever been to. It looks like it hasnt been cleaned since it was opened God knows when. The government should be ashamed of itself. If it was cleaner it may have gotten 4 stars read more

They suck! My carrier just today ripped offed the tape that I had sealing the mailbox, so that the carriers would use the mail slot on my security door. I have lived in my house for 15 years and the carrier that delivered today, tore my tape off, threw it on my porch and put it in the box that hasn't been used for 15 years. I specifically ordered this type of door 15 years ago because I have been a victim of identity theft twice. It's not too hard to figure out that carriers should use the more secure method of leaving mail...that's why it was taped up. Please deliver message to the carriers to use the mail slot on security doors if one is there. read more

Many Baltimore Post Offices are staffed with people who think they are at their house and you are inconveniencing them but Homewood is the worst! The people that work here are mean and inefficient. My mail is lost on a regular basis...I receive door tags which tell me to pick up my package and then the package is no where to be found, never an apology, never an improvement. I try hard to be very considerate every time I go in there but they still act terribly. Completely unprofessional, terrible service. Consistently bad behavior. read more

Never answer the phone. Rarely knocks or rings doorbell before leaving a "sorry we missed you slip".

I've never found the staff to be rude or unhelpful, but this post office still is a good representation of the sorry state of American governance. It is run down, on a back street, difficult for pedestrians to get to. And it is only open 5 hours each weekday plus 2 hours on Saturday. Long waits are common. When will Americans look around and see how other countries do it? The post office should be open all day 6 days a week and located centrally. It should be attractive and efficient, and going there should be an occasion for mild civic pride rather than just a dreary chore. If Americans continue to show how little they value federal government services, the country will sink even further into second-tier status. read more
