Never will I use USPS service again. Sent something via Priority Mail, with a $11 charge for 2-3 day delivery. They misplaced it. Finally found it and two weeks later it was delivered. Did I get my money back? No, not even an apology. They suck. I will pay extra for UPS from now on. read more

What a great USPS store! It's a much older store and the parking can get a bit hairy during peak hours, but the workers are very helpful and pleasant. I know they work hard to see people as fast as they can and are very helpful once it's your turn, so I don't mind the few minute wait. It seems like the 1 Star reviews have to do with mail delivery and not the actual store or workers. Shout out to Mercedes. She's always so nice! I'm not sure what's happening, but there is some shady business occurring. In the last 7 days I have had 2 packages pass through this location and upon delivery it is completely evident that someone is stealing from packages. The first was a LAME attempt. Someone obviously stole the shipping label off the original package and taped it (poorly) to another box. A pair of shoes and 2 shirts were MISSING. Only 1 pair of shoes made it. Why would they still send 1 pair? My thought is that whomever is doing this is taking as much as they can but still leaving something so there is weight to the package and it gets delivered and Tracking # gets marked as delivered. Today I got a medium envelope from Target. It was supposed to have 2 lip pencils in it. Low and behold, there was a small hole in the envelope and the pencils were taken. But, the package still delivered and Tracking # indicating that. How frustrating! Both packages came from different locations but had to pass through the USPS 92064 13308 Midland Road site in Poway. I do NOT appreciate someone stealing from packages. Completely unacceptable. Additionally- it's a pain to have to work with the stores to explain the situation and have new items delivered.... This post office is definitely older and parking CAN Abe a problem, but the service and morale of this post office is better that I've ever experienced elsewhere. I was a one-man line today while two employees assisted other customers and Jacob who was working outside noticed me waiting and came in and offered assistance to me outside. He got my transaction completed very quickly and efficiently offering any additional products or services. This is a nice Post Office with decent parking conveniently located. There is maybe ONE employee who is slow and not entirely helpful, but as far as my San Diego Post Office experiences go, I have very few complaints with this location. If there are any complaints to be had they would be about the NUMEROUS idiots standing in front of me in line that don't seem to have a clue about basic social niceties, and preparedness for shipping items, things like bringing the right box or tape. If you think I am talking about you, you're probably right....it's an embarrassment to the human race.....nobody really cares if your kid is screaming or if you have to take that cell phone call.....step outside and let the rest of us finish up that much quicker. For some of the finer points of shipping, staff at the Poway USPS has been more than helpful, suggesting money saving packaging and pointing out tricks for making the experience as painless as possible. Most of our mail is received in a timely manner, but for some reason I have been getting g the run around on a very important letter...it's the most bizarre and utterly inconvenient thing I've ever experienced. The first letter took two weeks to get to my Pobox, then I asked the teller why, and she said it looked like it came in and got sent back out, she gave me no real reason. The only reason I could think of was that I'm a new Pobox tenant, and the staff didn't recognize the association to my box, so it was sent back, then 2 weeks later placed in my box! Needless to say, I cancelled the contents within the letter and had it sent out a second time, now...it's been a full week and still no letter, and no real legitimate reason why it's Mia. And there wasn't a mix up on the other end because the first letter was posted with a date and sent out like planned, and the second one too. As far, as my other experiences here; the people are nice but not the most knowledgeable about troubles like my own. Parking, is mainly open but can become congested. All in all, make sure to get most important mail sent to your house! read more

I had sent a package November 25 2020 and today is January 22nd 2021. My package is still in transit to Nashville! Its been 2 Months now ! Seriously ??? All I get was a "sorry you have to file a claim ?! I had $3000 worth of items in that package!!! They dont give a care if you find it or not and are of no help at all ! I will never go to USPS again nor will I ever recommend it to anyone and will share this story with multiple sources ! I have emails and receipts ! read more

I have used this Post Office twice in the last week and had a very positive experience with the lovely Asian lady working there. She put my shipment in a box, while I wrote the label, and within a few minutes I was out the door and not holding up the long line. Today was very different. I got another employee who told me they weren't allowed to package the items. Really??? By the time she had told me what she could not do for me and sent me off to find packaging etc. she could have had me out the door. Very inefficient and kind of rude I thought. If the ruling is not to package then all employees should abide by that, even though it's terrible customer service and wrong. I will wait for my very friendly, helpful lady in the future. WOW it's a week from Christmas and I didn't spend more than 10 minutes in this place. They're pretty efficient and they have a separate area if you need just stamps, pick ups, and prepaid drop off (for the holiday season I believe). Everyone there was so helpful and kind. Sure the parking lot can get crowded but I just went to the next drive way and walked over. Easy peezy lemon squeezy. read more

Unbelievable, tried to send a saliva sample to UK company for DNA testing and was at the window for 50 min because nobody could instruct me accordingly to mail the sample out even though I had a proper sealed box, address etc. Useless, inexperienced, without knowledge crew of people. Finally another lady clerk came and figured things out while she was in disbelief that the other two had no clue. This is definitely the SLOWEST post office I've ever experienced. Even when just picking up a package, it seems they take forever to find things. Been here a few times, and nothing has improved. If anything, my experiences have been getting worse. I felt like it was time to make a review. The morning shift women seem to be the absolute slowest of them all. With the line backed up out the door (as usual), the two female employees (1 white, 1 asian) were just standing behind their counters with their "register closed" sign complaining about their superiors and fellow co-workers. All this was going on while only one resister was open & about 8 people in line. Not only are most of the women there slow, but they are also rude and unhelpful. Customers in line asked the women if they could open another register to expedite the process, but the women completely ignored them. Seriously if you/re around the area and need to do something at USPS, go to the one in Rancho Penesquitos off Black Mountain. Although they/re not perfect either, they definitely surpass Poway's (lack of) customer service. read more

I've been to this post office a few times and never had a reason to complain. The last time I went though, I was blown away by the customer service I never expected from a government agency.. I got there 5 min before they were closing for the day with an item I had to mail.. I did not have a box, or a tape, or shipping peanuts, yet I had to ship a piece of electronics that had to be carefully packaged.. The lady helped me with the box, found a filler for the inside, let me use her scotch tape, patiently gave me several shipping labels, one after another bc I kept loosing them somehow.. Landed me her scissors, helped me pack the package and send it on the way.. By the time I was done, it was way past the closing time. Yet, I did not even get "a look", just wishes of good night:) I'm forever grateful - Thank you:) read more

Delivered my package to the wrong address! Luckily, I opened my front door after the mailman left and I haven't seen my package as it was updated ' Delivered at the front porch'. So they took responsibility to find it otherwise they would say someone might steal it. Unluckily, they couldn't find it! I was upset. I lost my time, money, and my item which was worth $100. I think they should remind their employees everyday before start working that ' Treat your clients as you treat your family'. Without clients they have no jobs. I hope they would pay more attention and not deliver to the wrong address. read more

I have had generally good experiences at the Poway Post Office, but today it wasn't so good. It is New Years Eve 2014. I looked up their hours online at http://www.uspspostoffices.com/ca/poway/poway and was pleasantly surprised to find this post office is open from 8am - 5pm today. When I arrived at the facility at just about 12:00 noon, Hector Baca was shooing people out and not letting people in. Several of us said we'd looked up the hours online and this facility was supposed to be open. Hector Baca, who said he is the head supervisor of this facility, said this post office has no obligation to provide service hours in line with those posted on the Internet. He pointed to a sheet of paper taped to the door that said this post office would close at 12:00 noon on Dec 31. If you do not visit the post office frequently enough to see the sheets of paper taped to the door, I recommend you call to confirm their hours before you make a special trip. As Hector Baca says, you can't rely on the internet to provide accurate information on their hours. read more

Yes, the office is older - but that has no bearing on the service that they offer. Yes, the parking can be challenging at times - but that has no bearing on the service that they offer. However, the service that they offer can be shakey at times. I have lived in Poway for over 30 years and had the same PO Box # the entire time. Up until 2018 I never had an issue. In 2018 I was taking care of my elderly mother's affairs and had legal and time-sensitive documents sent "care of" my address. The documents were returned on three different occasions as "Undeliverable". Mind you, the PO had been notified that my mother's name was to be listed on our PO Box so that her mail would be received. I also had a problem with mail sent, by my sister, directly to me. My name and address were written clearly - and yet 2 times it was returned as "Undeliverable". After each incident, I visited the PO and attempted to correct the problem. Each time I was assured that it would not happen again. I even went so far as to have my sister put all of the returned mail into a large manilla envelope and have it addressed to my daughter so that I would have unopened mail showing that it had been returned as "Undeliverable". With the manilla envelope in hand, I went to the PO and asked to speak with the Post Master. I was told that she wasn't available. When asked if I could make an appointment to speak directly with her, I was informed that she would not be available "for a couple of months" as she was working at a different location. I asked if she could call me - that option was shot down. I was told that "there really isn't anyone that is in charge. If there are problems we will call her." Needless to say, the manilla envelope is still in my office - unopened. Four months have passed, and due to the lack of service offered by the Poway Post Office - I now have to make phone calls and emails on a regular basis to be able to follow up on the legal dealings of my mother. I still have issues with not receiving the mail that is sent. The unfortunate thought is - what about mail that I am not anticipating? Is it too, being returned? read more

Like any other USPS I've been to, BUT a bit quieter. And that is a good thing, since quieter means shorter lines.

This post office is either feeling the crunch of budget cuts or has recently experienced some staffing issues. It doesn't seem to matter what time I go to ship packages there is a line out the door and only one to two people behind the counter. Do not go here unless you have at least 15 minutes to stand in line before you are served. The good news is once you get to the counter the staff is very efficient and focused on your needs. I don't usually go to this post office, but I was in the area and needed to drop off several packages. I was unaware the office closes at 1pm on Saturdays, and arrived half-an-hour after it had closed. Slightly disappointed, I was trudging back to my car with my arms full of packages, when a postman in a mail truck saw me as he was driving out. He stopped his truck and asked if I was trying to drop the packages off, then kindly took them all, and scanned them in on the spot. To whoever this was, thank you! If you live in Poway avoid the Poway Post Office at all cost! It is worth the drive to go Carmel Mountain Post Office. I sent a package 2 day mail and 7 days later it arrived. When I tracked the package it sat in Poway for 2 days. When I complained I was told there is no guarantee when a package will arrive. read more

The postal deliveries from the Poway post office are pretty lousy. Every day we have a different post person and we are lucky if we get our mail by 5pm. Today I sat at home waiting for a guaranteed delivery. At 6:20 I finally got tired of waiting so I left home to go out to dinner. When I got home there was a text message saying they had attempted a delivery at 6:05. Well, since I was home at 6:05 I figured they attempted to deliver it elsewhere as there was no attempted delivery slip. I contacted the vendor who rescheduled my overnight delivery to the day after. If this only happened a couple of times, I might be more generous but the time before this attempted delivery fiasco, the postal employee delivered our entire packet of mail, including prescriptions, to another home. It was only through the generosity of the person who received our mail that we got it back. They also misplaced a certified, tracked letter. When we went to the post office to see where it was....the conversation with post office employee went something like this....customer: we have not received our letter which was sent from San Diego a week ago.....postal employee: well, it isn't lost.....customer: do you know where it is?...... postal employee: no.....customer: isn't that the definition of lost. Geez, our family in Utah received their letter in 3 days. I echo the warning of another reviewer, avoid this post office at all cost. I am going over to get a PO Box at another branch so I can get my mail correctly and in a timely manner. read more

Not sure if the woman who works here knows she actually WORKS here and is supposed to assist people which is why she is answering phones. I called and she answered "ya" in a rude annoyed voice. I said "umm hello?" Who answers the Phone like that at their job. Was I not supposed to call this number for assistance? Very confused. She was extremely rude to me and should not be assisting people- she should definitely not be answering phones. Horrible customer service. Beyond unprofessional. Wouldn't even rate this as one star as my issue was not resolved she just mainly sat on the phone in silence and told me I needed to look further into it. read more
