Hit or miss. Somedays, a bad experience, others not "as" bad. One day I went just before opening and I tried the door. It was locked. When the employee came out to open the door, she slammed the inside door and slammed some things at her work station. There are usually long lines. Very busy post office and the people working there are very helpful and friendly considering the long lines and the short smiles of many. It is not my usual post office and I always have to wait a lot because they seem short staffed. However they seem to work beyond 5 pm just to accommodate everyone. Great customer service. read more

Post office in Midland Poway. They closed at 5, my son got there before 5 to ship some boxes to his kids. There are other customers behind my son. This filipina post office staff told my son to come back tomorrow because they are closing at 5 but helped the other customers behind my son. I hope that the post office corporate management sees this. Is this discrimination? What kind of customer service is this? This is only day my son has the time because he works 10-12 hrs. read more

I recently went to the US Post Office this weekend - on Saturday around 10AM. I feared the long line that might have accumulated as there usually is when in the past times that I've gone. When going in, they slightly changed up the place. There was no middle table in the area so the area was much more open. They put plastic dividers up to separate the workers and the customers. I went to the side area to fill a package as the bag I had at home didn't fit what I wanted to send, and also had 3 packages to send out. Didn't have any problems, just going in and out. Got asked the usual questions about the contents within the packages before being asked how I would like to send them. It was pretty quick to me. I also got to purchase some stamps before my visit ended - I'm a fan of the boutennieres. This past visit was definitely faster than the ones before. read more

Very pleasant people but SLOWEST POST OFFICE IN THE NATION... if people haven't filled in something correctly - make them go to the side and correct it while you serve the other 10 people who have been waiting for 15 minutes and take the person correcting once they've finished (like other post offices do!) read more

This USPS is honestly a pretty decent one, if not one of the better ones. I have been to several in San Diego, including East County, Kearny Mesa, and Mira Mesa. This one is my favorite and I come here about 1x a week. Second favorite is the one in Carmel Mountain because they sell cute USPS dog costumes in their "gift shop" wall area. Lol but I digress... Did you know this post office ships live chicks?? Once I heard chicks chirping & that's when I found out. I learn something new every day. Ok, back to the review. First off, the postal workers are so patient, kind and friendly. I'm one of those customers who only drops off prepaid packages, but I want them scanned in, so I typically stand in line just observing. I'm usually the most relaxed customer in the room, lol. Others are typically frantically grabbing boxes & writing labels. The postal workers are freaking saints. These people are good at their jobs. They help people of all skill levels, from those who have their stuff in their hands & ask them cluelessly how to mail it to someone, pricing, & everything else you can find on their website, to helping others who have everything good to go, but get shocked at the price to ship & try to argue it with them. Lol. The postal workers are professional, and have literally seen it all in my opinion. They answer everyone's questions and I've never seen them rush anyone, no matter how long the line. Like I said, they're saints. Wow. One woman ahead of me brought her little daughter and the postal worker was very sweet to her. Another time I saw a postal worker elegantly handle an angry man yelling at them about his PO Box. Next, they have a large shaded area out front where you can wait in line/package your items. There is also a drop off window for any prepaid packages. Inside, there are stickers for where to stand in a socially distanced fashion & there is plexiglass between you and the postal worker. I do not believe they provide any hand sanitizer. Doors are normally kept open and there is decent airflow. This location is not NEARLY as busy as other locations. Mira Mesa one and this one feel like night and day. I like how this one is not as busy. However, one weekend recently during the lunch hour, I saw a line of about 10-12 people out the door! Crazy. Doesn't happen often though. Normally there's 2-3 people in line ahead of me when I come here on weekdays to ship. Last, but not least, this USPS always puts in effort to decorate for the season. It makes waiting in line much more pleasant. It's 2020- sometimes you just gotta appreciate the little things! I'm a fan! read more

I live at the Orange Garden Apartments in Poway and it seems our postal clerk is highly sensitive to delivering mail when it's raining, too windy, too sunny or Saturday. I've done the research and it's not just that I'm not receiving any mail but no one else is either. I'm not sure how to complain about him but I know that calling the post office might be a waste of time as they probably get a multitude of complaints. read more

Talk about personal service! I called about a delivery that was posted that supposedly went to my mailbox..I spoke to David who took my information and said he would contact me. Three hours later, I answered the door to David with my package in hand. Amazing! Amazing! The carrier had left the package at the end of my sidewalk..fully exposed to the elements( heat) and I did not think of looking there. Thank you, David, for helping me solve my problem! read more

Just dropping off a pre-paid Amazon return. The gentleman by the PO Boxes is very friendly and helpful. He asked me if the package I was carrying in there was prepaid. I told him it was and he took it from me right then and there, and even offered me a receipt, if I needed one. The building itself is quaint and rustic. read more

NO SELF-SERVE KIOSKS HERE and no SLOTS large enough to drop off prepaid packages when they are closed. I work all week from 8:30 till 5:30 and the post office is only open from 9-5 on weekdays, so since I got off at 4pm today, a SATURDAY, I rushed over after work because their website AND THE SIGN ON THEIR WINDOWS says they are open Saturdays until 4:45. I had a package I needed to send and would have happily used a self-serve kiosk if they HAD one, BUT THEY DON'T! It was 4:10pm and the windows and doors were all locked up. I could see bodies moving behind the envelop slot but no one answered when I rang a bell on the wall and I could even hear voices back there but no one paid attention to my pleading. If you have people who work there whose life is more important than my package (which I totally understand) PLEASE SET UP a self-serve KIOSK for those of us who value our minimum wage jobs more than YOUR people apparently do!!! Or hey... CORRECT your hours of availability so you don't waste MY TIME!!! Thanks for NOTHING!!! read more

I've had some serious problems with mail delivery. When I submitted a forwarding order, they failed to forward my mail. When I used mail hold, they kept holding my mail after delivery was supposed to resume. Now, suddenly, my mail is being returned to senders as "undeliverable". (Trust me, my House is still in the same place!"). Missing rent checks from tenants, canceled insurance because bills were returned, unpaid property tax because notices were returned to other states, etc. Maybe this is just a training issue with one or more carriers, but it seems like they have screwed up mail delivery in every possible way! Come on, Poway Post Office -- get your act together! read more

Delivered my package to the wrong address! Luckily, I opened my front door after the mailman left and I haven't seen my package as it was updated ' Delivered at the front porch'. So they took responsibility to find it otherwise they would say someone might steal it. Unluckily, they couldn't find it! I was upset. I lost my time, money, and my item which was worth $100. I think they should remind their employees everyday before start working that ' Treat your clients as you treat your family'. Without clients they have no jobs.
