I have had the same Post Office Box for over 5 years they place a notice in my box I pay. I sometimes pay 6mth sometimes I pay for the full year. I have never been negligent in paying my bill. I picked up a package on Monday 5.20 on Tuesday 5/21 I go to check my box, I work down the street it's convenient my key doesn't fit the lock has been changed. I immediately go home and contact USPS. I receive a phone call and email saying they would like to resolve the issue. I work so close I go on lunch told the first clerk my issue a very nice lady she refers me to the box clerk. I speak with him a polite gentlemen. Who explain that a notice was placed in my box I told I didn't get it. He explains the timeline in a nice calm manner which I understood but I explain again that I never received a notice. I go to pay and get my box restored because I have so many things attached to it. I'm charged a 35 extra fee (box fee is already expensive) I ask to speak to whoever wrote me the email. I was given a younger african american man who had a attitude before I go even get a word in. He kept cutting me off saying I should know when it's due I would remember if it was monthly thing but every 6 month or yearly not going to remember without a notice. He had no empathy spoke to me like I was bothering him not the first time I've heard speak this way with a customer like this. If I was paid late constantly I could see the additional charge. I think the post office should give more than one notice in case the first one isn't received also give that young man customer service training. He's rude. I've worked customer for 24 years in place people came to come to but I would never treat a customer they way he did. read more

My passport experience... first time I came in it was great.. two weeks later I received a letter saying my pepper work was incorrect ct go back fill out the information again... came back they said they were not able to assist me if I can't show proof I came to this location.. they said they can't look up transactions The Hispanic lady RUDE, RUDE, RUDE and RUDE.. she caNt look at you in the eyes when speaking to you can't have one word in with out her just saying questions in the front... don't get near her she will shut you down real fast not one word in... The African American lady that worked there on Friday 12/16 around 11am is rude af. She looked like she was miserable working there. For passport service, I cannot recommend this location enough! I was in and out of this location within 20 minutes, even during the lunch hour, and 10 of those minutes were spent chatting with the employees who were honestly some of the nicest, friendliest, and happiest Postal Workers I've ever had the chance to encounter. Thank you Ida and Ms. Keyes! I was expecting the process to be a pain but it was anything but that. It definitely helps to fill out your application prior to arrival. The passport website has an easy tool that will fill this form out for you. The location is able to take your passport pictures as well, although I didn't need to utilize this particular service. Ida did inform me that week days are your best choice if you can avoid coming in on a Saturday, you'll be better off, as the wait times otherwise can be extremely long. This location is by far a way better choice than the US Post Office near LAX that also processes passports, plus this location is clean and new. It's worth the extra 20 minute drive! read more

The service was fine. On this occasion we came in for pasaporte photos. It was such a long wait. They only had two employees working. That is crazy! The employee located at the desk in the front was rude. One family before me was transmitting passports, although the employee knew spanish she did not speak it and instead listened to the mother as she struggled to speak English and as her kids translated for her. When they were done explaining what they were there for, she answered in Spanish! So incredibly rude. I would suggest coming in early because they are low on staff and not time efficient at all. read more

I usually was driving through to put my mail in the mailbox unless the mail boxes were overflowing. I've seen mail left in bins outside the boxes since this branch must be short handed. Although I have received good service inside both for mail, packages, and a passport, I have had mail fraud committed there. I and another woman have gone inside to put mail in the mail slot inside. Both of us have had mail stolen and fraud committed on our bank accounts. It may be an inside job of a dishonest or careless employee. Beware of this mail theft! I am not sure if my stolen check was put in the mailbox or in the slot in the wall, but I am afraid to mail any letters there anymore. read more

Re: Passport Services not the best customer service by the cashier! I went in on a Thursday to inquire about information and noticed a super small line. The check-in lady was friendly and informative. So I decided to came back on a Saturday with my family and the line was longer as I had expected it. After 1 hour and 20 minutes I asked about the bathroom when I was told there aren't any on site and I had to drive to the Shell gas station. We were just waiting for our pictures to be printed and they had already closed the doors so I waited. Unfortunately it was their 2nd day using a new camera with their new printer and when the film ran out it caused a delay of 20 minutes. There was bit a confusion and when it was my time to approach the cashier (Ms. Keyes) I asked for a clarification on the amount I was paying. I had followed the instructions and brought my copies. As she went over the costs with an attitude I realized that I was being charged an extra $1 for copies. That's when the cashier snapped and became upset. Instead of canceling my transaction in her register she took out a dollar out of her personal belongings and handed it to me. She had mumbled something under her breath that I chose to ignore as I wanted to attend my baby's needs and my own. However, when the check-in clerk walked by she mocked me and said to her "why would you charge her $2 when she brought her copies?" because the check-in clerk is who completed the itemized list of costs. I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude and her sarcasm just continued. I finally just asked for her name and she abruptly took away my receipt to write her name on it. I get it, it was past their closing time but it was not my fault that their equipment delayed our visit there. She mentioned something about an announcement she made which was probably done when we were trying to feed our 11 month old who was hungry at the same time that I was trying to look for a small corner to change his diaper as they had already closed the doors to their entrance. There's only few signs in small print so my hopes are they can be more understanding of families with young children. Who knew mailing a package could take so long? And not because of the amount of customer but the employees. Don't know the gentleman's name he was older Asian descent, wears glasses. I answered his questions several times and he proceeded to tell, I told him to lower his tone and he proceeded and said "you don't know what my tone is", lol my hearing is just fine, I can tell when someone is being loud and seems annoyed at work. I told him the machine didn't print my mailing label which I paid $27 for, he checked it and guess what? Nothing happened! Forgot to mention his co worker told me, he was the "printing machine guy"" because he is the only one who knows how to work it. So then he questions me about my receipt, I told him this was my receipt, he asked me 3x about my receipt, I answered but by the 4th time, I had enough, and then another employee also older bald headed African American gentleman came over to straighten things out and he was annoyed and talking loudly as well. And no it wasn't because of the mask, the gentleman heard me just fine prior. Poor customer service. Too much going on in the world to have to deal with anyone who is rude and hates their job! read more

I had such a bad experience at this location trying to get a passport. I had an appointment, got there on time but the problem was the lady helping in the front. The worst possible experience I've ever had with USPS. I purchased money orders for my rent and paid extra for priority mailing at this office. My landlord informed me he didn't receive it after a week I went back to this office since tracking info said it was still at their office. None of the employees there knew what to do and they made me wait over 1 hour for their supervisor. The supervisor was also completely lost. She had to call their 1800 # to ask for further instructions. She told me the letter with my rent money orders wasn't there and may be stuck in a machine. To just keep checking the tracking online. I asked if they could cancel the money orders so I can get them reissued since I still had to pay rent. They had no idea about the process or what I needed to do. They told me I couldn't do anything for 60 days. They were just trying to get me to leave. Based on their instruction I waited 60 days and went back to this office. Again, none of their employees knew how to help me and they called their supervisor. This time it was a guy who made it clear he had no time to help us because he was busy. He told me I had to file an inquiry for the letter online but again didn't tell me what I needed to do to get my money orders refunded. He literally said go online and file an inquiry for the letter and they'll get back to you in 72 hours. He either didn't know procedures or he only wanted to get rid of me again. I went to a difference post office to see if maybe somebody knew what to do. The post office off Anaheim street was able to finally help me. They helped me fill out a money order inquiry so I can get my money order refunded. Super simple and easy. All the employees at the post office off Grand are useless. They didn't even know their own procedures enough to explain what I needed to do. Their supervisors have no customer service skills and basically nobody wants to take responsibility or help. Called for help on tracking a package. Man on the phone was ridiculously rude and did not help me at all. I am not familiar with Long Beach area so I wasn't sure which post office location belonged to my address. Instead of helping me located my proper location, he told me to "google it" and figure it out on my own. When I asked if he could track my package for me, he told me "well what does it say when you track it?" Which wasn't my question nor did it help me at all. I had the best experience getting my Passport renewed here today. Was in and out in about 40 mins. So friendly and very helpful. Answered all my questions about a VISA that was still good and she even recommended that I get the larger book with more pages since I travel so frequently. Had to get a picture taken and she let me retake 2 times and choose the one I liked. Highly recommend you come earlier than later. I was told it gets busier later in the day!! read more

You do get what you need. However we must have come in the busiest Friday because we waited 3 1/2 hours. No bathroom privileges and you are not allowed to bring food in. People were getting impatient obviously especially those of us with kids. Next time will do an appointment and not go through that again. So don't do walk in if you can avoid. This post office used to be located on Redondo Boulevard in Long Beach. Today I went to mail a Certified letter but needed the required forms to do so. I found one, filled it out, and proceeded to the counter to complete the transaction. When I got there, Janet, an elderly African American woman, curtly asked me what I wanted. I replied that I needed to send my letter via Certified mail but was missing the second form to fill out. I told her there were none available in the lobby area. She then proceeded to grab one from the top of the counter, flung it towards me and rudely stated, "here, you need to fill this out BEFORE I can help you." I was stunned by her manner of speaking to me and unwillingness to help! There was no one in line waiting and the transaction could of been completed in just a few minutes. After I filled the form out, I waited for someone else to do the transaction only because I had to get that letter out ASAP. It really surprises me that a company who is constantly losing money and has to often raise prices, would not place more emphasis on providing good customer service. Obviously it is not s priority since no one supervises the postal workers and they get away with being rude to customers without any consequences. I've lived in the area many years and conducted business at the previous Redondo location. Many times I witnessed this woman, Janet, disrespect customers at the old location. I thought she had retired, but that is not the case and her behavior is still out of control. Avoid doing business here if you can. read more

Visited this location on 2/23/19 and I must say the service was great, got there around 9ish. There was people already sitting in the blue chairs which means you wait to be called and go over your paper and lastly proceed to pay for your passport. They do ask you if you have your own pictures (which I did). When I got there the line was not too long, one Person is at ( line one) where you get your form to fill out and other info. I must say get there early because it does get busier the later you go and they do have a sign saying they'll close early if they reach capacity was out before 1 so I don't think it was too bad. One of the sales associates told me it was too late to apply for my passport (which is reasonable, I understood i could've come earlier) but the way he spoke to me was degrading. When I tried to walk away he would keep telling me things until he was finally finished talking. She doesn't mind taking breaks or taking an extra long time to get anything done. She will yell at you and remind you that she's the cashier- who you need to see to finish your application. Amazing passport renewal service ever! I literally was out in 20 minutes, expecting to be out in an hour or 2 so I was pleasantly surprised. It's a small post office hidden behind the main streets with ample parking. Their passport service department is upstairs and everything is practically clean and new. Once you line up, the front desk basically helps you with all your passport needs. I recommend coming in on a weekday during early lunch hours to avoid lines and also preprint the documents you need to fill out from their online services so you don't have to get out of line then back on. Once they reviewed my paperwork they sent me across the room to take my new passport photo with a fee. The front desk staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and respectful even towards some people ahead of the line in front of me, who were being so rude to them (which was annoying to witness) The camera woman was so pleasant as we joked about photo taking and she even took two photos and let me decide which one I want to use. Then after paying the cashier for the expedite process fees and photos I was off! They mentioned the weekends are busy to get passports done so if you have no other choice but to come on a weekend, then expect to wait awhile and at least do your research and print out the necessary paperwork to save you time. read more

I am completely impressed right now. In my mail today was an envelope containing a destroyed check and mortgage statement I had mailed weeks ago. It somehow had gotten mangled on it's way across the country. This post office actually took the time to mail it back to me. I am not sure the post office where I live would have done the same. Passport services suck. Only ONE person processing applications. Expect to be here all day. On top of that employees are rude.

It took 5 hours for us to get passports on Saturday. We arrived at 9am and did not get out until 2pm. It took 4hrs to get to a processor and another hour for the cashier to process our receipt. That is not acceptable on any level. read more

If you need to apply for a passport - please don't go here! We went to get passports for our kids - our applications were completely filled out and pictures were ready when we arrived. We waited 5 hours from start to finish for the process. You wait in line to go inside, wait in line to get checked in, wait to get your passport application taken, and then wait again to check out. Horrible, inefficient process with slow employees who could care less. Not to mention you are not allowed to eat or drink and there are no available bathrooms. That's pretty much a nightmare when waiting that long with 3 small children. They also cut off the line around 11:30 knowing they won't get through everyone before they close at 2:00. That makes for some pretty upset people who get turned away hours before they close. It's a terrible system - there is no excuse for a process like this! read more
