Update: There are only a few things that per etiquette, need to be sent out via physical postal mail. Wedding invitations and Thank you cards are two of them. My daughter and son-in-law had spent their free time after their wedding, writing personalized thank you notes. We promised them we would mail them out of Long Beach (since everything related to their wedding had happened here), to get their hand-stamped postmark. It's just not that busy here, and when we came around 1 pm, the inside was empty. My wife realized that it was lunch break, so we came back at 2. We were able to buy the new pinback buttons forever stamps and adhese them to the preaddressed envelopes. The postal employee was extremely helpful, taking care of the hand stamping. These will go out tonight, being delivered all over the U.S., hopefully this week. Really glad this post office is nearby. read more

The new lady there really needs to get some "People Training" Today I went to purchase stamps and she said jokingly that they didn't have any. The regular employees that are there sometimes joke around with the regular customers. So I stepped back and jokingly responded " I am at the Post Office, right?" Only thing I can say about this post office is HORRIBLE (ZERO) CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was there to drop off a small package at the counter but no one was working the front. Since I was able to hear someone in the back, I asked for help (several times). Although they heard me asking, no one came out to do their job. So disappointing. read more

I have sent three packages through this post office and they all end up lost or damaged in some way. The staff is friendly enough but something happens between here and the destination that packages seem to disappear. Letters have about a 90%delivery rate (I sent 100 letters and only 90 made it to their destination). Among other things envelope contents disappear too. Something totally shady going on! Edit: just to be clear I'm not saying that the employees are stealing stuff. I suspect there's a flaw in their setup where things get damaged or lost. read more

Come on, it's close by, it's got nice people working, it's clean and there's underground parking (you have to pay) or free street. For anyone working within walking distance, this post office is brilliant. There's multiple drop off bins and little counters with the usual slips and forms and envelopes for your disposal (lots of Priority packaging, given all the USPS' advertisements) and the place is open till 5 regularly. For convenience, it's perfect since unlike most public postal places, there's not many moms, teens, or ebay sellers here. You're going to bump into suits, federal employees and an occasional passerbyer or two. The office isn't obvious from the outside and you have to walk in (to the left, to the left) when you go from the front entrance on Ocean. But if you're working or living close to downtown Long Beach, beat the crowd and use this place. They are full service and there's lots packaging available if you forgot yours. I have a PO Box here and I also have informed delivery. My home informed delivery is always spot on. This post office never delivers my mail in a reasonable time. I sometimes have to wait a week after I see it in my email. Currently I am waiting for a very important piece of mail I know should have been delivered 1 week ago. I went in at 12:15pm to do business at this location, only 1 window open, the other lady is just there not helping anyone. The lady (clerk 3) that helped me was very rude, All I can say is, she didn't have any good customer service skills and she shouldn't be working with the public with attitude or demeanor she had. wish they train their employees better for customer service which she lacks of. I never go during their busy times. At most, I would ship 6 packages, and I probably go once a month. One day, the lady clerk looked at my packages and said other USPS would not scan individual packages for me, and she wouldn't do it again next time without "an online sheet". She said she would only need to scan the sheet once instead of scanning individual packages. I don't have and am not able to print such sheets. I sell merchandise through an app and they email me the labels individually. So she said, then just drop off the packages, they would be scanned at end of day. I said I need the receipt to show that I've dropped off the package because if it got lost, I wouldn't lose out on my merchandise and money. She said, "They won't get lost". My merchandise sometimes cost several hundred dollars. I have had my packages stolen twice & I'm sure as hell not dropping my sales off and not get evidence of mailing. BTW for those who do not know, because so many packages have been stolen, blue mail boxes were replaced from being wide enough to fit usps medium box, to only fit small box, and now can only fit letters. I assume she would know this given the fact that she works for usps. A month later I brought in 4 packages. She looked at me and said, "do you always do this?" I said, "do what?" She said, "bring in packages without the sheet." Again I explained no sheet cuz I'm not the one generating the labels. She said yes there is. WTF? There was also NO ONE in line except me. How lazy can you be? It's just scanning and printing a receipt. It is super quick! Another month later I bring in a few packages. This time there was ONE person in line behind me. A different clerk was working and said he didn't have time to give me a receipt, but he would scan them in. It takes maybe 15 seconds tops to print a receipt. It's absurd for them to act like I'm taking so much of their time. By the way, no other USPS has ever given me an attitude about this. I actually get treated like a VIP cuz other USPS understand I'm bringing in business. This location is so convenient for me but I dreaded going there. Now I go out of my way to another one which has polite and professional staff. I'm usually out of there in 3 minutes, BECAUSE IT'S JUST SCANNING AND PRESS PRINT. You should be able to expect a post office to scan and print a receipt for you. It is not time consuming or unreasonable. If there is another usps on your way home, go there instead. Avoid this location at all cost. read more

I came here two days in a row a couple minutes before 5 (the soonest I could get here because of work) they close at 5, today I got there at 4:59 and they would not help me, they said their line was too long ( which is their own fault for only having one register open during a busy Christmas season) Now my Christmas presents will be late to my family. Came into the store to mail out a textbook and originally arranged for it to be sent via priority mail. Van helped me and did an outstanding job. He showed me that it wasn't necessary to ship out priority and that sending it a different way actually helped me save $$$. He took the time to care for my shipment and wallet at the same time. This is a great secret location in Long Beach. Located in the main level at The World Trade Center, this post office is VERY clean and friendly. The ladies that work here are great. All helpful, great customer service and quick. There is rarely a line with more than 5 people...and even then it goes quick. Not many people know of this location which is kinda nice. You can park in the lot under the building or off Broadway & Maine and they will validate. You also get 15 minutes free parking in the Broadway above ground lot. You can also park at the green curb for 15 minutes which is time to run in and out. read more

Finding it the first time is a bit tricky but well worth the adventure - look for the retail shops & food court on the plaza level of the building. WORST. POST. OFFICE. EVER. No accountability. No manners, no sense of customer service. Only 2 people work at this sad lil office and both of them swear they are busy when in fact it is the slowest post office in the area. I had dropped off 5 packages, all shipping to different addresses, on a Monday morning. All have tracking. The next day, Tuesday, I drop off 2 more. Ebay sales. Those 2 immediately got processed and are on their way. The first 5 still have NOT been updated with acceptance. Being an ebay seller, this is a bad sign already. I go to this office to follow up and these 2 idiots are already brushing me off without even hearing me out. Saying they couldnt do anything for me and to go to the po down the street to talk to the postmaster. I do so. The postmaster says she cant even stand those two. Lmfao supposedly they have a lot of issues at this location and have a 90% successful delivery rate. WHICH IS AWFUL. These people can literally, and probably did, take your packages and say: idk what happened to them and steal them for all we know. Usps is the worst already, but this location brings them to an all new low which i didnt think was possible. Seriously going to call the police on these 2 thieves. DONT GO HERE! BEWARE. This location is definitely a hidden gem. It is located within the World Trade Center and you can complete transactions conveniently at this site. It is a full service post office but it doesn't have much staff because the foot traffic isn't necessarily heavy. If you are looking to avoid a crowd and get your postal business taken care of, this is a good choice. read more
