From previous reviews as you can see ,I have been a customer of 2nd St post office long long time ( over 30 years ) I still give 3 stars for other employees at this location. This past month there is A woman sitting next to clerk 6 (?Robert) and she is VERY Rude Today I came in for money orders , Robert always been helpful , I think he's been there for 8 months I had to get outta line , when I came back to get 2nd money order, her window was open ' I don't do money orders ' , so I waited for clerk window 6 As I walked up to window 6 , she stood up with a book in her hand for him , barked at me ' you have to wait ' ...instead of indicating to me ' I'm sorry give us a minute. ' Other customers in line were like ' damn' , one guy filling out shipping envelope turned around looked over her way and sort snickered .. she then had window 6 start entering information of Money order number into computer / n big green book. Now if this was 1st time she was rude and barked a directive at me , I'd write it off she having a bad day , since this was only 2nd time I've seen her in this location . But I came in over a week ago with my elderly mother ( 83 & dementia ) trying to help her send a certified letter to a business . And this same woman ' we don't send certified on envelopes like that' pre printed envelopes .. okaaaay so I popped the item in regular mail box. As I'm explaining to my mom that we can't send the item certified. In many decades , I have sent certified mail , never heard that before . Not sure what this woman's issues are with Me ?!! Or she just got issues period . BUT, While I'm waiting today I saw her go in back , come back out laughing, so I guess she does have the capacity to NOT be rude. read more

I was the first customer in line and came to this location after being directed by another fedex branch to complete a return. I politely asked the braided hair black American lady clerk on duty for a piece of tape, which I purchased at the counter. The clerk responded in a hostile and intimidating manner, after resisting that she could place a stick on my package being sent out, instead was responded with a low grade attitude including stating "I'm not the one to be messed with," and directed me aside to wait. Despite being first in line, she then assisted customers who arrived after me. Her tone and behavior toward me were noticeably different from how she treated others. Another employee later assisted me without issue and confirmed my package was acceptable for shipment, showing the delay and treatment were unnecessary. I found this interaction unprofessional and concerning, particularly due to the aggressive tone and skipping me in line. I am requesting this be reviewed. read more

I live just a few blocks away, so this USPS location has always been convenient for me. The male employees I've interacted with have consistently been professional, efficient, and kind. Unfortunately, one negative experience can overshadow many positive ones. In this case, the issue was with an older employee named Lisa. She was extremely unprofessional and noticeably combative when customers had difficulty understanding her slurred or mumbled speech. I watched her snap at a customer simply for asking her to repeat herself because they couldn't make out what she was saying. When it was my turn, she became visibly irritated when I asked basic questions to determine the best way to mail my packages. She then insisted that my family's address "does not exist," even though I've mailed items there for years without issue. At that point, I didn't feel comfortable arguing with someone who was already agitated, so I left with my packages. As I walked away, she even snickered, which felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. I then went to UPS and mailed out my packages to the same "non-existent" address, without any issues. I wish this location would address Lisa's poor behavior, and refusal to perform the job she was hired to do, because this really detracts from an otherwise positive experience. read more

My experience with Michael at the Belmont Shore location was very different from the positive reviews here. I went in to mail a package and was told he couldn't generate a label and that I needed to purchase one and fill it out myself--even though this has been done for me at this location before. I stepped aside as directed. When I finished, he was socializing with another customer while a line formed. I indicated I was in a hurry, but he stepped away for an extended period. When he returned, he scowled at me and abruptly directed me away from the line with dismissive body language and a tone that came across as openly disrespectful. read more

I had about 150 wedding invites to send and really wanted them hand canceled to preserve the look of the envelope when it reaches our guests, and he was more than happy to hand cancel them for me. I was nervous this would be a huge ask, but he was so friendly. I'm so grateful! Definitely will be back. read more

Imagine goin to the Belmont Shore United States Post Office, needing holiday stamps to send out one's holiday cards, just to find out said post office is out of stamps! That's like a bank being out of money! Luckily, I walked past the very long line around 8AM just to double check if the post office accepts ApplePay and happened to see a sign posted, stating that they were out of stamps. On my way out, I saw a kiosk that sold stamps and wanted to see if the automated service offered holiday stamps. No option was given in selecting stamps so I purchased American flag stamps by default. I guess it's going to be a patriotic Christmas this year! Lastly, I was additionally annoyed because I needed more stamps. The kiosk had a 100 stamp limit per transaction. When I tried to buy more using the same card, the kiosk instructed me to use a different card. Why not just take the same card?!? I've learned a valuable lesson for next year.... Buy stamps ahead of time at Costco! Actually wait, one more thing. When did stamps become so expensive?!? read more

He is truly a kind soul: patient, informative, and genuinely helpful. I've been to many USPS offices, but this one stands out because of Michael. Every visit has been a positive experience, and that's rare. Michael has helped me on multiple occasions. Most recently, I dropped off my wedding invitations with destinations in Mexico and across Southern California. He kindly guided me through the entire mailing process, including checking the weight, advising on postage, and answering every question I had with clarity and care. His service is nothing short of exceptional. He makes what could be a stressful task feel easy and even enjoyable. It's clear he takes pride in his work and genuinely values helping customers. The two gentlemen that work here are courteous and efficient. The female employee's slowness, rudeness/pushy demeanor makes the argument for people are voting to dismantle the government. It seems Mr musk has got control of this agency, because Now you have to request a shipping card & receipt slip at the time of shipping. In other words there are two forms used for certified shipping. A green card & a white paper slip. They used to put these cards on the counter. Upon a visit upon leaving I would take two maybe for future shipping. Before going to the post office for shipping, I would prefill all pertinent info, thus saving time , not only for me, the clerk, but the customer behind me. Now you have to request at that moment for the forms. Not a good idea. I thought the post office was trying to be more efficient. . read more

Another underwhelming government run operation. I suggest anyone to try a commercial entity like UPS or FedEx before going to these muppets. I was in there the other day, about 10 customers waiting in line. Then the worker stopped serving because she was more concerned about the "please wait here" sign. She got up from her desk, came out and then spent a minute moving this sign around because she felt like it wasn't in the right place. In the end she only moved it about 6 inches from where it was in the first place, it made no difference to anyone at all. This isn't helping us lady! The only thing she accomplished was making customers more frustrated at a long wait time. Seriously clueless! read more

Ok I know post offices are not the greatest experience, but this one deserved my review. Had to mail some highly important documents and came to this location. Somewhat long line as I expected so I gave myself some time. I arrived about 11am on a Friday because I wanted to avoid the USPS off Bellflower Blvd near the Trader Joe's in Target Plaza, I'll leave another review for that one. That is place is terrible wait times. Anyways almost night and day difference compared to this location. Off the bat this place looks cleaner and taken care of. Again wait was average I guess, but once I got to counter, Michael was the one assisting me. I needed a money order , but I told him I'll come back return to line once I finishing signing off the documents and seal the envelope. He was very kind and took the time to tell me that he would gladly weigh everything, take care of the money order etc in one transaction and just come back to window without waiting back in line once I was finished. Very easy and very quick transaction. The line was already long as I signed off my documents off to the side. I sealed my envelope and returned to the window where Michael took my Priority Mail and had the label ready was quickly attached to my envelope. I appreciated his attitude and his attentiveness to the importance of my items. Much more than I can say from my experiences at the other post office. This is now be my go to Postal Office...clean, friendly and convenient. As far as my experience go this was an A++. Thanks Michael for the help! read more

They are great here and very helpful. I love this postal office, I used to work 2 blocks from there at a pet store and got to know some of them, great employees. When I first arrived, it was empty, as I am leaving the line was almost getting to the door. If you ever see a line like that, don't get discouraged, it will go faster than you think. They are productive and friendly. People do social distance, employees and customers are wearing masks too. read more

Sent a package out from this location. The day before I left back across the country. And I ended up losing my receipt with tracking number. Was told to call this location Possibly retrieve my tracking number since it should still be in their POS system. But nobody seems to know how to answer the phone. I've called 60+ times in two days and nobody answers. You guys are not busy from the time you open to the time you close, so there's no reason someone couldn't answer the phone and help me. read more

Love my local post office! There is always a good amount of staff to help you and they're ALL so nice and QUICK! There is always a good stock of all different types of box/envelope sizes. They have review thingys at the bottom of the receipts which i want to give but that would be so many so i hope the manager or whomever sees this review and gives them all a raise! I really appreciate how convenient they make things and need I say again- QUICK, I am in and out (depending on the line of course). I recently went to another USPS location outside of California and it took longer than it should have, not enough boxes so I had to opt for a massive box I did not need and the one employee working wasn't the nicest- which inspired me to write this review for this branch and show appreciation :) read more

Lisa was extremely rude - I went to the front and said "hi how are you I'm here to drop off a package" and she just looked at me. I then asked if I could have a receipt and she said "well say you need a receipt you're not just dropping it off. The self service gives out receipts too, use that next time". This should be a zero star. Came here just minutes ago to send a package with a printed label. With not much knowledge about certain packages to use. I placed my item in a package that fitted nicely. I stood in line for a good 10 minutes, without any issues. Which later only had one person behind me, whom just got there after me waiting for 10 minutes. I was greeted by a RED HAIR LADY so rudely. Quickly saying "You can't send that package with that label. You'll have to get the bubble package. Go pick one & stand back in line so I can help the next person". Along with these instructions, her delivery of time of voice & demeanor was so rudely with waving her arms as if she's shooing me away. There was NO, "Hello, how can I help you?" I understand if this is there process...??? I can follow directions. However, I don't agree with such rude demeanor & tone of voice. I also don't agree with no consideration that I've just stood in line for 10 minutes patiently waiting as the customers before had to be taken care of. There was NO KINDNESS, NO MANNERISMS, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. People like HER should NOT be in customer service. She needs customer service training. Her behavior is INEXCUSABLE. I'm not and never have been a savy "Post Office Person" so when I go to Post Office locations I'm always ready to deal with "Attitude." I don't use The Post Office except if I'm mailing a large item, gifts or special items ie. delivery confirmation, insurance the whole lot 'ya see. The impatiance, condecending posturing and the "you can complain all you want, you can't get me fired attitude" become boring as sex with my ex and I'd had enough of it! In this day of paying [for me] everything on line the above pretty well covers it. Also, I do need stamps on occasion and always keep a book handy just in case I need to mail something. I'm old enough to remember when it cost 3 cents to mail a letter! This Post Office location in Belmont Shore is the only one I use; I've been to other locations and PU! Here most of the time (98%) I'm in and out like the burger! Yesterday the clerk filling out my signiture required form was very helpful because, I forgot my glasses (old and forgetful is as old and forgetful does!) nice people there even though there are lines, the wait is tolerable. I am really surprised no one has written a review recently about the two women working in this post office. This was my go to post office because they were quick, efficient, and kind. The gentleman who works there is always wonderful and I cross my fingers that I get him, but instead I get the woman with the worst attitude I have ever been treated with. She ripped up my label in front of me because i was missing a piece of tape on my box. I had packing tape in my purse to use, but she wanted me out of the line. Are you JOKING usps? I've had a PO Box at this location for 20 years and I'm sure it'll come as no surprise to read that for most of that time I've experienced nothing but rude service, long lines, mistakes and incompetence. This location makes the DMV seem like Nordstrom. If you're considering opening a box at this location I'd strongly recommend using a private mailbox store instead. They have better service, lower prices and more options available. read more

Establishments like this can get away with terrible customer service because everyone needs the post office. I'll just make sure to never come to this location and/or begin using UPS. I came here to ship a package because I was in the area and it happened to be convenient. My encounters with two separate people were off putting; it was obvious they did not like their jobs or wanted to be there. And worse, it's been a week since shipping my package to the east coast and the status has been unavailable this whole time. I've verified with the recipient if they've received it and they haven't. I've attempted to call this location half a dozen times regarding this matter and after a minute or two of endless ringing the call disconnects. I now must drive there to ask a simple question that could easily be handled via telephone. This whole interaction with them has been a headache. read more

I'm not sure why this post office is always insanely busy. Although it is usually on a Saturday, no matter when I arrive during the day, there is a huge, slow-moving line. Even this past weekend, I thought I would outsmart them by showing up when they opened at 9:00 am. Nope, I got there at 8:58 and there was already a line. We all waited there like crazy people in front of the giant metal shield until it finally lifted at 9:04 am. I think I heard angels sing. But just for a second. I think this is another one of those post offices that could use a separate line for people with issues and questions and who are generally pains in the ass. I was the fifth person in line. Customer #1 was mailing two packages, and had used the Priority Mail address labels but didn't want to ship them Priority. Of course not. Customer #2 wanted a money order and needed to put it in his Priority Mail envelope. He got his money order and walked away to fill it out. Customer #3 wanted a money order and to ship his envelope Express Mail. The clerk explained to him that since he was sending it to a PO Box he either needed to sign a delivery waiver so a postal employee could accept it or it will get sent back in five days if the recipient does not pick it up. He was very indecisive and it was an issue that apparently needed to be discussed for ten minutes. Customer #4 needed to ship her Express Mail envelope and needed two stamps for the letters she had. She then had to discuss Express versus Priority because with the holiday on Tuesday, Express still won't get there until Wednesday. Oh, and she needed some tape to seal the envelopes because apparently her tongue doesn't work. Oh, and those stamps are cute, could she get a book of those? Oh, and she'll get the photo stamps kit too. Oh, and here comes customer #2 now, hovering, because he's realized that he didn't buy postage for his Priority Mail envelope when he bought his money order. Oh. My. God. You people are all idiots. Thankfully, the guy at the postage only station called me over since I had my envelope ready to go, and was not (at that moment anyway) a complete idiot. I finally walked out of there at 9:17 am. I don't understand why this place has three stars... I went here this morning to mail out a package to an acquaintance in New Jersey. I packaged it in priority mail like I normally do, but when I went to the self service kiosk... the options looked a bit weird to me, and I had questions. So, I went up to the counter for help. There was no one in line, and this was around 10:00a.m. The lady at the counter was quite helpful in explaining the new priority mail. She took care of everything, and in no time, I paid and was on my way. So, five (5) stars for you, Belmont Shore Post Office! :D read more

Haven't had a problem here really. Only thing was, Went to get a po box here and I had already paid for it online and everything. Got there at 430 and the lady turned me away saying it takes forever. So I came back the next day in the morning thinking it was going to take awhile. The lady I talk to this time is nice and what do you know. Takes probably less than 3 minutes to get my po box set up. DO NOT get a PO Box here!!!! They royally screwed me out of my box by holding onto my payment because I hadn't included a $15 handling fee. Meanwhile, they reassigned my box to a new customer. I received no notice of any kind. This was in August 2011. Fast forward to November 2011, I get one call from a Ms. Beverly Brown saying only that I was short on my box payment. I call back and speak to another lady who said I only owed 15 extra bucks. I told her I'd come in Saturday. First thing Saturday morning I get a call from a frustrated Ms. Brown who only leaves me a with a brief message saying I owe 15 bucks. I call back and she informs me that they've been holding my check since Sept because I didn't include the 15 and the box has gone to someone else. I inform her that the first time I heard of any additional payment required was just a few weeks ago. I came in in person 3 weeks prior for a key and the asian lady that works there looked at my ID and let me buy a replacement key. I told her I spoke with another lady there just this past Thursday to let her know I was coming in, and again NO mention of the box being given to someone else. Beverly Brown's own two message never communicated that the check was held on to and MORE IMPORTANTLY, that the box was given to someone else. I told her I'd invested in stationary, mailing labels, envelopes, business cards, all with that address. That I've had invoice payments being sent there and why am i JUST NOW finding out about this?! I just get a dumb "duh um" response from her with no answers, no solutions, and no recourse. read more

Super easy post office. Hardly any lines. Just came in to drop off something in the parcel mail shoot and was in and out of there. They had a short-term parking meter right there in front. 2nd street gets pretty packed on some days so one might have to drive around the corner and park in the neighborhood but it's really not that bad. read more
