Haven't had a problem here really. Only thing was, Went to get a po box here and I had already paid for it online and everything. Got there at 430 and the lady turned me away saying it takes forever. So I came back the next day in the morning thinking it was going to take awhile. The lady I talk to this time is nice and what do you know. Takes probably less than 3 minutes to get my po box set up. DO NOT get a PO Box here!!!! They royally screwed me out of my box by holding onto my payment because I hadn't included a $15 handling fee. Meanwhile, they reassigned my box to a new customer. I received no notice of any kind. This was in August 2011. Fast forward to November 2011, I get one call from a Ms. Beverly Brown saying only that I was short on my box payment. I call back and speak to another lady who said I only owed 15 extra bucks. I told her I'd come in Saturday. First thing Saturday morning I get a call from a frustrated Ms. Brown who only leaves me a with a brief message saying I owe 15 bucks. I call back and she informs me that they've been holding my check since Sept because I didn't include the 15 and the box has gone to someone else. I inform her that the first time I heard of any additional payment required was just a few weeks ago. I came in in person 3 weeks prior for a key and the asian lady that works there looked at my ID and let me buy a replacement key. I told her I spoke with another lady there just this past Thursday to let her know I was coming in, and again NO mention of the box being given to someone else. Beverly Brown's own two message never communicated that the check was held on to and MORE IMPORTANTLY, that the box was given to someone else. I told her I'd invested in stationary, mailing labels, envelopes, business cards, all with that address. That I've had invoice payments being sent there and why am i JUST NOW finding out about this?! I just get a dumb "duh um" response from her with no answers, no solutions, and no recourse. read more

Like any other post office they're good and bad clerk's during lunch the lines get long as there's only one clerk working.

I can walk to this post office. I like that. I always have to wait in line at this post office. I don't like that. Most people who work there are pleasant. I like that. One guy, every time I see him at the counter, tells me he has lived in Japan and practices a few Japanese phrases on me. EVERY TIME. I actually like that, too, even though I wonder if he recognizes my face. But then one woman who helped me the other day wasn't as pleasant as the others. I didn't like that. She was trying to be friendly, but what she said came out as sort of rude. She was just too patronizing and treated all the customers like we were a bunch of kids who needed instructions. So yeah, mixed feelings about this post office. But I want them to stay there, because, after all, I can walk there. It's such a huge plus for me; yes, I can walk there. If you can't walk here, you probably would want to go some other post office. Avoid the line. read more

Super easy post office. Hardly any lines. Just came in to drop off something in the parcel mail shoot and was in and out of there. They had a short-term parking meter right there in front. 2nd street gets pretty packed on some days so one might have to drive around the corner and park in the neighborhood but it's really not that bad. read more

I go to the post office once or twice a year and Soooo slow the one time I have to go 10 people in line no one works here employees are in slow motion so annoying and often have condescending attitudes. If I worked here I'd wanna help people so they could get on with there day. But here they are slow AF read more

I love the Unites States Postal service. I particularly love the fine folks at the Belmont Shore location in Long Beach, CA. They help with with tedious paperwork for international shipments. They are friendly. I leave every time with a smile. I love the post office. read more

She was talking to me like I was dumb, I was confused as to where the box labels were and she said "they had ran out" and I had to buy one. I got tired of waiting at the Anaheim St. post office where most of the people in line are getting Money Orders. The line is much smaller here and it's easy to get in an out. The main problem is the parking, but if you go before 10 am, it's free and not nearly as crowded. read more

though it's a little further to drive to, this is my favorite post office to go to. i usually go during a weekday, and it seems this one is less busy than the one on anaheim (they're nice there too, but that's another review). now that there's an automated postage machine that weighs and prints out postage paid labels for you, there's almost always no wait. maybe they're afraid of technology, but i don't understand why people never use the machines, like this one here or the ticket machines at movie theaters, as it's much faster than waiting in line, but it works out for me. at least for a little while, i will benefit greatly from this little appreciated bit of the future. the service is friendly and efficient. there's a curly, dark-haired woman who always calls me honey or sweetie, a southern practice that imparts a sense of familiarity and down-homeness like apple pie. she'll often start a second queue at the retail register for uncomplicated mailings or if you only need to buy stamps. read more

The best post office I've ever been to! I often stop in here on the way home from work and every time the employees are super friendly, professional and get you on your way quickly. Today was Halloween and they were even handing out candy to the kids trick or treating. The manager Mia was standing greeting customers and assisted me in writing some checks. I like this post office for a couple reasons. First, they're always good to me. They get me in and out quickly and without problems. Second, it's always funny to go in there because it seems like I'm the only person they're good to. There always seems to be someone asking to speak to a manager because they have been trying to explain that they want something to go overnight to San Francisco and the person behind the counter insists that neither overnight mail, nor San Francisco, nor the post office actually exist. the location gets a little busy but the folks at the counter are always nice and really work to get you out of there as fast as they can.

Parking in Belmont Shore is a pain, but this is a nice breezy location to take care of mail stuff. I came in for a money order, and found it a lot quicker than the local 7 Eleven. Just be sure not to confuse this with the PO Box-only location a block away. read more

I live in this area, and every single time that we put "return to sender- no longer lives at this address" on a piece of mail, it ends up back in our mailbox. F*in idiots, so I should have known better than to have shipped anything out of this location. I have sold tons of things on Amazon over the last six months, and have sent almost all of them out of the Artesia location I work nearby. THE ONE thing I sent from this crapfest of a post office got lost in the mail (well, excuse me, it was sent May 17th, still was "in transit" on Friday, but now the tracking has been backtracked to this location "being in possession of the item May 17th, 4:02PM). I tried calling this number and it just rings and rings and terminates the call, as someone else pointed out. On top of this, the surly white female clerk told me I couldn't mail "comic books" using media mail. I know USPS policy better than that idiot, and told her it was a graphic novel. You can't send anything with advertisements using Media Mail- THAT is the policy, not some random ban on comic books. Graphic novels (and actually most new comic books), which I was sending, have no advertisements. She probably threw my shipment in the trash, given her attitude. Stupid morons. read more

DO NOT drop off packages here without them being scanned. We walked in with a box & placed a medium box in the inside slot as told by the male USPS employee & it "mysteriously" disappeared. I spoke with the manager of that location & she stated there is no way a box just disappears on it's own and no way a box can move forward without being scanned. That means the only other way for a box to go missing is if their employee & probably the guy at the window who told us to put it in the box stole the box. I'm out $35 but I may not even get back my money for the label never used because it's being investigated which it cant be investigated because it was never scanned and because it was never scanned I should receive my money back but it has to be investigated but because it was never scanned it can't be investigated and ..... read more

I have a P.O. box here, and boy was that a mistake. Missed notifications of packages was common, but the look they give you is just this blank stare like "...oh, should I do something about this" Government workers at its best. Every time I have an issue, I have to break it down and talk really slow like I'm speaking to a 10 yr old. But you can't get them to shut up with the 20 questions when you're trying to send one stupid letter. fyi... I don't want insurance I don't need stamps I don't need to track it I don't want to send it priority I don't want to send it certified I don't need a delivery notification I just wish the Postal Service was privatised...dump the union. I walked 15mins. From Naples to 2nd Street and back just to encounter Emily today who didn't know how to do her job. She's so nosy that she has to ask what's in my box before scanning the item and says MEDIA MAIL is not allowed for packages. Please note that these packages were prepaid through eBay and just needed scanned in. We do a lot of business on eBay and regularly send packages as media mail. USPS allows large packages to be sent as media mail. Instead of arguing with her we just decided to drive all the way to Seal Beach to send our packages! They accept the packages with no problem at all! As usual since they know how to do their job at this location. Train your employees well before putting them in front of the public. She was laughing too, and trying to explain that I had selected wrong shipping option. And tried to force me to use priority shipping on an item that was prepaid and properly weighed. We have been doing EBay for a long time and understand the different shipping categories! Can't argue with a $+¥9!|}....Next time just scan the packages and shut up. read more

The people working here are really experienced to their duty and they are able to give prominent service for the mass people. But one thing is that there are many windows but only using two windows that make me unhappy. Because I have to waits about 20 minute to get my necessaries for the busy crowd. Wait 20 minute is awful to me. read more

This afternoon I went to the Belmont Shore post office simply to mail a package the cheapest possible way and asked an employee who was helping in the line to provide me with that information. Instead they told me, "I cannot provide that information, it's a usps policy." I was taken aback and restated my question puzzled that they could not help me with this simple question. Again they repeated their answer and were quite rude, very unhelpful, and told me to wait in line and pick either that box or this box not indicating the prices. I am very surprised and offended by this irrational answer to a very rational question for an establishment. I rarely ever write complaints, this may be my first or second one. Please tell me was I wrong to ask this question??? Is it an actual policy that you cannot direct a customer to the cheapest packaging? I wish I had that employee's name she should not be in the front helping customers. I do not recommend this post office. read more

I had an awful experience here today. I almost never use the USPS for packages, always FedEx. This one had to use the mail service. Nothing is done by computer, it's all done by hand which I was not expecting. Well, Rhonda felt it was her job to laugh at and insult me rather than guide me. I have had several problems with this post office . I don't know how many times I personally have to give other people their mail because they are putting other peoples mail in my box. I wonder where my mail is going? This office is government funded just like any other office but this place is horrible . The manager is very disrespectful and rood . In December I had a package that was supposed to come in for my daughters Birthday on the 29th after talking to the manager in that office about a problem I was having about other peoples mail I had to deliver and I don't even work for them my daughter's birthday present wasn't delivered, I wasn't notified . How I found out is when I called the 1-800 number and they told me the longs post office put it on hold for two weeks and then sent it back. What the FXck . What is wrong with these people. They need to be enforced to the law of what their supposed to do. When this happened I went in to ask why I was never notified and the manager actually told me that he was the one that put it on hold and he never notified me because of the altercation he had with me and the mail that didn't belong in my mail box. I opened my PO Box here 2 years ago and if were not for the hassle of changing all my addresses I would have closed it long time ago. The majority of the employees are rude, especially the branch manager. One time the mail carrier swiped a package as delivered on one day. When I called the manager she said first that the tracking number I was giving her was not valid, then after I complained she found it and told me that the package had been delivered. Well, to make things short, I received the package the next day. It should be illegal for a mailman to swipe a package delivered on one day and then deliver it the next day. Also if you try to call them they never answer the phone. But the main problem is the rudeness of the people, I do not know how they are able to keep their job but with a manager that rude is not surprise the subordinates are like this. I give this Post Office the worst of mark because they deserve it. read more
