I'd like to bring attention to an employee at the USPS office on Atlantic by San Antonio who truly exemplified professionalism, compassion, and outstanding customer service. On 05/18/2026 around 2:30 p.m., a young man (unfortunately I did not catch his name) helped me submit and mail my passport renewal paperwork. I was already feeling extremely overwhelmed due to personal circumstances, and he remained calm, patient, reassuring, and professional throughout the entire interaction. Unfortunately, the employee next to him, a woman with colored braids and eyeglasses, was dismissive and rude toward me. Despite the young man already informing me he could assist me, she repeatedly tried to discourage me from mailing my paperwork there and told me I should go to another USPS location instead. Her approach added unnecessary stress during an already difficult moment. What stood out to me most, however, was how quickly the young man stepped in after overhearing the interaction. He immediately reassured me and took the initiative to help without hesitation. As someone who works in customer service myself, I know how much one employee can impact a customer's entire experience. One person can make someone feel unwelcome, while another can completely restore their faith in humanity. This employee deserves recognition for the way he treated me with kindness, professionalism, and respect. Employees like him are the reason customers continue returning and trusting USPS services. read more

The USPS has been on a steady decline and I think it has reached rock bottom. Postal self service machine that do not work well the never ending lines with be senior citizen working behind the counter. Antiquated signs that do not reflect current pricing. They need to do better. I notice the direct correlation, when their prices go up, service standards decrease. read more

Tehja was amazing!! USPS is never a fun visit because of how busy and typically overworked and bothered the employees are but this location made me feel valued. Taken care of in a time efficient manner. As well as genuinely cared for to be a customer. Tehja had some system issues and they still managed to get everyone taken care of, she never complained about having a broken system. They literally just figured out a way to make it work! I really wish that I could experience this each and every time I visit a USPS location, the other beautiful lady that was behind the other counter was super sweet as well, and even though people were waiting long times at some point, there's never any frustration in the room. If I could, I would give this place zero stars. Pretty much everyone in here has a less than optimal disposition. I came here to drop off nearly 200 wedding invitations. I waited in line to drop off my invitations so that they could be placed in the bin behind the clerk. The clerk proceeded to snatch the box from me and throw them in the general mailing slot... this is something I could've done without waiting in line. Typically if you're going to wait in line and send wedding invitations, they will place them in bins behind them so that they are handled with more care. On today, the clerk simply snatched the box and threw them in the back and then when I mentioned to her that they are wedding invitations, and I wanted them to be placed in the bins behind the desk so that they are handled with more care, she snatched the second box from me and threw them in the bin behind her. Literally never waste your time coming here. Nobody cares, nobody knows anything unless the manager is there, and even she is not helpful. read more

Incredibly rude and dismissive employees. If you have any international shipping, absolutely don't go there. In a shout voice, they shut you down with "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT. WE'RE NOT TRAINED. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT. NO CAN'T HELP YOU." Over and over. I ask if there was anyone else who might be able to help me fill out the international form and apparently "NO ONE HERE CAN HELP". Although I live in the neighborhood, I will never set foot in this Post Office again, which I suppose will make the employees there happy, or at least, less angry. My general complaint is that the overall rudeness of the staff (one in particular), is off the charts. This particular woman is just angry and she passes her anger on toward her customers, regardless of race, sex or gender. She does not deserve to be employed here and shame on her supervisors for allowing this behavior and while we're at it, shame on the Post Master for not auditing the performance of his or her employees better. I'm an OG of the Post Office when they were located where Aldi's is now situated on the corner. Back in the day I have never been a fan of the Post Office I always found the staff to be rude or they had condescending attitudes if we asked questions before getting in line. Another annoyance was the lines they were extremely long and it made me so annoyed watching employees standing around while the lines got longer and longer. Today thankfully that's not the case I actually have a lot of respect for the staff recognizing all that they do to get our mail packages and items to where they need to be. This office in particular is awesome they have staff that are actually helpful I needed proof that a package was received the staff member walked me through that process and showed me what I needed and prior to her help I was paying more for something I didn't need when I used the UPS Store thankfull the Post Office caught my mistake and save me a headache and money. I use this office whenever I want to send specific items or need to mail envelopes that contain checks and valuables so far I have never had a problem and everything I mailed made its intended destination. If you need specific help mailing packages for Poshmark Amazon returns and more this is a post office that will help you with all your delivery needs the service is much better and they have been redeemed in my opinion. This is the worst post office ever. The lobby closes at 6:00 p.m. I got to the door as employee was letting someone out. She told me it's closed. I had two letters and asked her if she would put them into the mail slot. Her response: "We're closed." There is no mail box outside. I wasn't asking to let me in, only to put them into the mail slot. So very rude! I have been to this post office twice and both times the lady who helped me out was very efficient and friendly. The first time I came here was because I was nearby and needed 5 rolls of stamps and the downtown post office did not have any. I came here and they had more than enough stamps. I was so happy. The second time I had to ship a book and the lady helped me with the shipping envelope. She was so nice and even taped up the mailing label for me. This post office is so efficient and so clean. About two weeks ago, I used this post office and was greeted somewhat abruptly with a surly employee. I don't remember her name, but she was black fairly large individual and seems to never have been trained properly to at least smile with your customer. I think employees who represent the USPS should try to maintain a professional attitude or leave the job and go do something where you're not working with the public. read more

It's consistent; Consistent with poor customer service. So poor and so consistent that you HAVE to come in here knowing that and have a sense of humor because the way the costumers are treated is absolutely comical. I waited a few years before posting this to see if maybe I was just coming on an off day for her. There's one lady in particular that is just flat out rude. Actually I think I've only seen three people at the counter during Christmas season. It's usually only one person at the front and it's her. She raises her voice, rolls her eyes, breaths heavily and really talks down to customers when they have questions or when they're finding cash in their wallet/purse to pay. She portrays that she is the utmost irritated with her customers. But she is knowledgeable in her line of work. Most older people walk out looking defeated after she's talked down to them. I was in the area shopping next door on a Saturday 1/18 and needed a few stamps. So I popped in, there was one customer already being helped so I wait in what I thought was the line. So after the employee was done she said I can help whoever is next in line that was me .. she also added "The line is that way for the future" ummm ok thanks ... I guess I would have knew that if there was other people in here but ok then I asked for 3 stamps. She says we don't have stamps you have to get it from the Kiosk. At this point I just said thank you as there was no other employee to help me. I see alot of people here has had a bad experience! I must of got lucky because this was the best post office i been to and open on saturdays until 1pm and to get your PO Box is open until 3pm. I dealt with with employees here and both were sweet. First time mailing certified mail and they were very helpful and helping me fill out the forms to do that. The line about 20-30 people but it went pretty quick. I didn't see them being rude to any of the customers i saw. read more

OFFICIALLY FINISHED WITH THIS POSTAL SERVICE LOCATION! I absolutely cannot believe the rudeness of the employees here! If you are an online reseller, DO NOT come here to drop off packages. I have shipped hundreds if not thousands of packages (boxes) in the past 7 years and I have never been treated so poorly by a postal worker! I walked in with a box to drop off around 11:00 AM. The box had a pre-paid label on it. I took the box to the main service counter and went to leave it on the right side (where there was a pile of boxes (with pre-paid shipping labels & some of the boxes were the same size as mine). As soon as I put the box on the counter a postal worker from behind the counter began screaming at me! With a nasty attitude, she said, "LADY, IMMA TELL YOU RIGHT NOW, YOUR LABEL IS WRRRRROOOOOONNNNNNGGGG! THAT BOX IS NOT A FIRST CLASS SIZE. WE HAVE CERTAIN DIMENSIONS AND THAT BOX IS TOO BIG. WE AIN'T ACCEPTIN' THAT!!!!!!!!" I picked up my box, and walked away trying to leave this post office as I was not about to stand there and argue with this nut job postal worker over a box. As I was walking out towards the exit with my supposedly too big of a box, she continues screaming at me! "WELL, DON'T YOU WANNA KNOW THE RIGHT SIZES?" I stopped mid stride while walking out and told her, "I'll just ship it somewhere else. I'm not dealing with this!" I continued walking towards the exit and she was still SCREAMING at me! I don't even know what she was saying as I exited the building. OMG! First of all, I have shipped hundreds of boxes the same size with all different kinds of labels; first-class, priority, etc. What type of person addresses another with the screaming and calling someone "lady." There was no "excuse me" or "mam," she just started screaming at me over a box! The post office was full of customers and she was belittling me in front of everyone; screaming at me like I was a stupid kid in high school not knowing how to ship a box?!?! WOW! So, I put the same box with the same label out for the postal person to pickup from my front porch and guess what?! The box got picked up and scanned for shipment. So if the size of the box was such an issue, why was it picked up from my home and scanned for shipment?! What a joke! read more

This place needs a full training overhaul. I received 2 returned packages I shipped out in November 2020 THEY WERE RETURNED TO MY PO BOX September 2022 - 2 years later with no words, no explanation - nothing and they were envelopes being mailed less than a mile away. I had to say something to the manager and she was so nonchalant and dismissive and blaming it on Downtown LA. Then the told me it was an incomplete address (it wasn't) finally she offered to reimburse me $3.50 for each envelope postage. THEN TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE I WENT TO OPEN THE ENVELOPE AND THERE WAS A LARGE DEAD BUG HANGING OUT. I went in there on 5/1/2024 to send my Uncle a package letter priority with a signature mail going to Stockton ca. It was supposed to arrive on the 4th. Needless to say; the package went from Long Beach to San Diego, then to Los Angeles in 5 days. I called and filed 2 complaints, Today is the 10th, and it's just now being delivered. Payed for a two day delivery and it ended up being delivered ten days later!! They lost the package, meant to be taking to another country, and when we filed the claim they refused to take responsibility!! To make it worse, the lady at the postal office who "helped" me (Victoria), was so rude, wouldn't let me talk and didn't have me confirm the address which she ended up messing up and that's why it got lost! I felt targeted by her and discriminated. All they showed is that they are unprofessionals, irresponsible and experts on lying to the people. Ordered some salt from Iceland, received the email notification of "we got your order, it's shipped, it's received" but it never arrived. Filed a claim to track it down (it was delivered to a PO Box in 90805), "Brittany" called me within the hour that filed the claim and said it's probably at the Bixby annex. A day later, I received an email from Robert Carigma stating that my package was delivered. Nope, never delivered. Calls to the phone number provided just ring several times, then you get the recorded message that "your number cannot be completed as dialed." The kicker was I got a "give us your feedback" email, so I was obligated to give them all my claim information again and give them the "unsatisfied" rather than the "very unsatified" because of the one hour call from Brittany. I've emailed the company to see if they can resend the order using a different shipping option but since they're in Iceland and a small company, they're not responsive to emails other than those that are auto-generated (already got a "please leave us a review" email but posted my experience already on their FB page). Nevermind the USPS raised the rates again on first class postage, but I'm out of promoting CTFO via mail, at least for now. read more

Still the worst USPS, used to live in bixby knolls for 10 yrs and moved to orange county. Came back to this area for an appointment gave them another chance maybe they improve customer service already. But nope still the same staffs. Not trying to be a racist here but the current staff are the worst, dont even greet customers they dont even care if u are disabled or in a wheelchair they wont prioritize you sorry. The asian guy before is one of the polite and nicest. They need to be reshuffled, this community is mostly seniors but they seems to not care w that. They need good and caring staffs. Okay I'm officially naming this post office my favorite one in my area. I try to go to others and just don't get the same service there or crabby people. Ive also never had shipment issues after dropping off here. I own a small business and ship a few times a week. I always walk in with the same basket and some of them remember me and will grab my basket to dump out my packages. They're always super friendly even on days I see there's a huge line and people that are so impatient. I've seen them work hard during the holidays and I don't think they get enough credit. read more

I love this branch better than the other Long Beach branches, which is why I got my P.O. Box here. However, it must be something about L.B. The 15 years I've lived here, there has never been a year the P.O. didn't lose one of my packages. Specifically at this branch, they have workers from other stations to come help them sort mail (straight from the mouth of this branch manager). Apparently though, they haven't taught these spare workers the policies at this branch. I have a P.O. Box because my hours are not necessarily the P.O. hours. Yet, there are notes in my box to pick up in branch. WHaaaaaaT? Use the package boxes! I have had to play this game for three weeks at a time, because I can not make branch hours, and my package is stuck on a shelf instead of being placed in a package box. The branch is clean and orderly. I like and appreciate that. The parking lot is massively accommodating--albeit the patrons who consistently park in the red instead of handicapped, and almost run over you upon entrance and exit. My UPS and FedEx deliveries always seem to get lost at this branch as well. Sigh. Yet, I consistently get every piece of junk mail. Made the mistake of using their secure package drop box/slot in the lobby. Four days later there is no trace of it in the USPS tracking system other than the shipping label was created and "awaiting package." Now I have to deal with priority mail insurance but can't prove it was ever there in the first place. I guess from now on I have to stand in their ridiculously long lines to ensure the package is scanned in. So either somebody there failed to scan the package and it's been lost since en route, or somebody there has sticky fingers. Very disappointed. read more

Usually usps has been good to work with. This one has the Worst customer service of any post office I have ever been to. I bought a P.O. Box that was over $100 here and they gave me keys the same day I bought it that never worked. They kept telling me to come back and the supervisor would get the correct lock for the box. It never happened. Over a month later and they still have not put the proper lock on the box and would not tell me when it would be done. Given this poor service, They were unapologetic and disrespectful and supervisor refused to come out and speak with me about my concern. Instead, sending her front desk person back and forth to give me answers slowing down the line. I was told there was no way to know when I would get a key that worked with the lock and they refused to give me a full refund telling me that I could always wait in the long line to pickup my mail. Had I known i would have to do that, I would never have bought the P.O. Box from them to begin with. I tried calling their customer service number and they simply referred the inquiry back to the same post office and would only offer a partial refund even though I never had access to the box or used it. I was not able to escalate the issue and they closed the case without resolving my request. I recommend going to ups for a P.O. Box in Bixby Knolls, Long Beach. Stay away from this place if you can. read more

I am writing another YELP review but this is not based on any interaction with any Postal employee. I utilize the Post Office Collection box frequently that is located on the corner of Brayton Street and 36th Avenue in California Heights. I use it because I do not have a vehicle so it's just a matter of convenience for me. I don't understand why my mail that I sent out took six (6) weeks to reach Hawaii. I also sent out about ten (10) Mother's Day cards on June 1st 2023 and about four (4) of them never got delivered as of yet. This is not the first time that my mail that I sent out took over a month to be delivered in the United States. The undelivered mail hasn't been returned to me either. It's very frustrating . . . . . you never know if your envelope will be delivered. read more

Been doing my mail services in this station for a long time. Line is rarely moving fast in this location - understaff? or underperforming staff?, I have no clue. I suggest a review of staff performance. Also, I maintain a PO Box in this location. This year I got an email of an auto payment for my renewal and a week after, it is about 50 dollars more, with no notice of any price adjustments at all. Had to stay and wait in line to clarify the discrepancy and was just told there was a price increase. That's it! No apologies! [Recently noticed that this has been a draft for months!!! Was thinking of not posting it but this might help improve service and communication in this branch, so yeah.] If I may add, I am happy to see the self service mailing machine is back.
