As so many people have already stated..... THIS IS NOT A FULL SERVICE US POST OFFICE. that being said, I appreciate it for what it is. Earlier in the day, I stopped by the 2nd street location and they were out of stamps, then I went downtown, where the employee who helped me was epic but it was slightly uncomfortable there because some of the other customers reminded me of being at a psych ward. So once I had all my Christmas cards cards ready, I stopped by here to drop them off not knowing that it was an "annex" location, as the employee told me, I asked if he wanted all the cards out in the box outside and he said he would take them. He was super nice and super helpful. My cards were mostly delivered in two days, which I believe is fast for snail mail. If I'm just dropping off letters or prepaid packages.... I will definitely use this location. read more

This is not a regular retail post office and only does vacation holds and parcels pick-ups, as the sign says at the entrance. I only came here to pick up my package that was on hold, since the mail delivery guy left a note in my mailbox that they attempted to deliver a package that needed a signature and I wasn't there to sign. They do not offer window services (Ex. Stamps money orders,mailing parcels). There is street parking and I didn't see any parking lot available but only for the employees. read more

I was waiting for a really important letter from a different country, on the day it was supposed to be delivered somebody marked it as we moved and left no address, but delivered the rest of our mail on THE SAME DAY!!!! Nobody even tried to contact us about it, it's ridiculous because the phone number is written on the envelope!! Customer service told us to make a missing mail claim, it's been almost a month and nobody can tell me if I even going to get my letter. If I could leave -10000000 stars I would for sure. read more

This location is at the corner of Loma and 4th Street. I sell on Ebay and Etsy and I drop off all of my prepaid packages at this location. Anthony Bravo and Nancy are so nice and helpful! They always greet me with a smile and scan my packages in right away. To drop off your prepaids you simply press the doorbell and wait until it's answered which is usually within a minute or so. The packages get sent to the main hub in Los Angeles daily so my customers get their packages as soon as possible. Anthony makes sure my postal crate (the white one that says property of US Postal service) that I carry back and forth is always nice and clean. If you live in the neighborhood this can be your goto post office for all your prepaids. The service is excellent and the people are really nice and they do care, especially Anthony and Nancy! Welcome to the Bermuda Triangle of post offices. I've had multiple packages disappear here, even though their own computer says it should be there. Here's how it works: I ring the bell at the dirty window and wait ten minutes for someone to finish their cigarette, then wait another 15-30 minutes while they "search" (or possibly watch Maury) only to then tell me to come back tomorrow. Being a sucker, I did. I tried to call a number they gave me first to check if my package was actually there, but it just rang endlessly, so I made the trip again to the asbestos-laden building. (Seriously, there are asbestos warnings everywhere) The process then repeats itself and ends with a recommendation to file a claim. In conclusion, I can only recommend this place for murderers trying to dispose of a body. Package it up, send it here, and no one will ever see it again. read more

I dunno what good this post office is good for, unless you just need a box to drop a letter in. I'm not sure what services they actually provide, this is more of a mirage than a real post office. It would be an awesome location if they actually served my neighborhood, since I'm so close by. But they don't sell stamps, money orders, or anything for that matter. Dropped off rent check on Feb 28, physically handed my mail to an older women working behind the counter. My mail was not delivered until March 8. It took them an entire week to process one regular size envelope with first class postage. This resulted in my rent check being late, having to put a stop payment on the check incurring a $25 fee not to mention the embarrassment after the check made it to its destination. I've never ever been late on my rent. Avoid this location at all cost unless you like the feeling of wondering if your mail will make it to its destination. read more

I used this post office in the past and had problems, bad on me that I gave them a second chance. If you are an Etsy seller, do NOT drop your packages off here. They never receive an original scan and your orders are left showing that the labels were created only and because they never track it looks like you the seller never dropped them off. I am having to pay out of my pocket for refunds to my dissatisfied customers now. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. We accidentally gave the USPS driver our UPS packages (customer orders) and luckily I was able to track him down and he told me he dropped it off on 4th and Loma. Granted they were close, the gate was open so I went to see if I could grab them before they load everything on the truck. A woman was inside and didn't bother to acknowledge or assist. Said I needed to talk to the manager who pulled up in his car after she denied trying to find him for me. He said I was in the wrong location and that they are closed, he couldn't help me... He could have made it easier and made someone's day by just assisting and just walking inside to check, but wanted to pawn me off to another location saying that location didn't deliver to our address, when clearly they did. He was so rude, and the girl too! I work in customer service and am always looking to help in any way I can. Even if I have to drive around to locate these packages, get treated like crap, just so my customers get there packages delivered by the right carrier. The manager told me the driver needed to come get them. So I drove back, found him and the driver gladly went back and grabbed them for me and took the correct packages. There was a camera pointing right at me when I dropped it off. No one can help me find it. I prepaid the label. Over 2k worth of items have been stolen from me. This package never left this office!!! 3 weeks ago I ordered some items from China and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival. I have been tracking the delivery since I ordered and was super excited that it was going to be coming in TODAY. I took the day off so that I would be home to sign for the package. I'm waiting. Waiting. The time that the mail usually arrives comes and goes. I go to the mail box in front of my house and wouldn't you know it... I got a "Sorry we missed you" notification. What? I've been home all day with the express purpose of signing for this package. I peed when I got up, and I've been sitting on the couch by the front door watching TV all day so I know I didn't miss them. Also, the dogs go bonkers when somebody rings the door bell or knocks. I know I didn't miss them. So I go to the post office to pick up my package... Sorry. It's still on the carrier's truck. "Well where is it?" I went (walked) there to pick up a package once, gave the guy my address, and he was like, "I'm sorry, we don't service that area, you have to go to the Anaheim post office." WTF. Initially my review was going to be bad, bc trying to get a hold of this place over the phone is impossible, as well as with USPS in general (which I realize is not this locations fault!). But they came through for me in the end so I'm okay! I had a package coming from my sister that I needed before leaving town for 2 wks. I was getting the text by text play and knew it was being held overnight, out for delivery today which is when I'm leaving. I got there first thing at 8:30 am (UPDATE this location now opens at 9am!! Please change this on your website USPS!) and waited while I watched them pack up all of the trucks but wasn't able to go behind the fence. Well when I finally got in they were extremely nice to make the effort and look through the carriers for me, and I got my package-- so I am elated!! don't even want to give one star. I missed a certified mail so I called the office to pick it up. a man said they're open till 5. I arrive at the post office at 3:00pm and the door was locked. Walked around the building because this office looks like a prison and I thought maybe I was at the wrong entrance. Nope, go back to the front door...still locked. called the number multiple times. no answer. I saw through the blinds that people were in there with the lights on. called again, a woman answered very rudely and I told her I was at the front door but it is locked and I called earlier and someone told me they'd still be open ...she hung up on me. I waited for ten minutes, in hopes of her getting up off her chair and unlocking the door. never happened. I got in my car and left. never coming here again, i'd rather not get my mail than deal with this stupid place. read more

This doesn't even qualify as a post office. There are drop boxes outside, but no PO boxes inside, no automated machine for mailing, and NO COUNTER SERVICE! There's a Dutch door. From said door, you can retrieve packages from a guy. I think that's it. You can't even buy stamps at the door, you have to get them from the lone machine, which means cash only. read more

Found the number on here as I was looking it up to file a complaint. As I was readying the reviews about the rude service Sylvia answers and says, "LOMA POST OFFICE PLEASE HOLD!!!" -click- I called back. -click- with no one even saying anything. I called back 4 more times and get the message, "The machine is not on." After the fifth call Sylvia answers again (yes, with much attitude) and I try to explain to her that the carrier is just leaving all the mailers on top of the buildings mailbox instead of putting them in the mailboxes. She responds with, "I DIDN'T ASK FOR YOU TO TELL ME ALL THAT!" I responded with, "I didn't call for you to give me attitude." She tells me that I have an attitude and hangs up on me. Who hangs up on customers? I call back a few more times and finally get Steve who was very nice and apologetic. Now I have to wait until a supervisor calls me back to take my complaint about the carrier AND the Sylvia. This is our regular carrier mind you. I wasn't at the location trying to get help. This is the second time I've had to call and complain about the carriers just dropping off our mail on top of the box instead of delivering the mail. I thought that's what the whole point of coming to our place was about. You know, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." and all. I had a package that was lost somewhere along the way from Spain. USPS International research found it and left me a message that it was at this location. It would be delivered to my home the next day. Since I was not going to be home, I called and asked if I could pick it up. They took my info and called me back to say they had it. All I wanted was some information about my forwarded mail and she just condescendingly repeated the same line to me over and over: "You don't even get that much mail..." Certain times our new mail carrier leaves our packages out on the street (5400 block of E Ocean & Balboa). The other times, he will leave a Redeliver Slip when I'm home and my door is open. I've said hello every time I've seen him and he ignores my greeting. We don't know what to do anymore. read more
