    The Post Office has been steadily on the decline for years. Service has decreased while postage has increased. I have been using the Post Office for years as a mail center for my business. I have witnessed over the last 4 years postage increase as well as box rates increasing while accessibility to your boxes has been restricted. You now have to go i to post office during business hours to access your P.o. box due to rise in theft. I made the decision not to renew my box. I would have made the box close out automatically, but I decided to clear the box out and turn in my keys before month end to collect my deposit. After waiting in that long line ( only 2 clerks at counter). I get up to the clerk and I am told that I do not get my deposit back. I was told that if I return the keys I would get the deposit back. For Mail Centers there are other options that provide more as it relates to service, at a fraction of the cost the USPS is charging. Services such as text and email notification so that you don't have to make unnecessary trips to your box.

    1/10/23 Another long overdue review! Been coming to this Lakewood USPS for many, many years & they've been fairly good overall. There are plenty other USPS in the nearby cities but this by far has been consistent in 'delivering' the goods. In the past I've mailed very important documents & received them in kind, have gotten excellent results. As far as waiting in line for various transactions, it all depends on each patron, but the postal workers are pretty good at providing the most efficient service possible, friendly too. Perhaps I always expect that there will be a wait so then I don't get too antsy when there's about 10 or more customers in line. There are a total of 3 self serve kiosks that can be used for stamps & quick transactions. Plenty of parking spaces at the front & the side, and the rear. I've been to the Bellflower & Artesia USPS and I prefer this one for it's consistent service & reliability.

    Mailed certified on May 20th 2022 a stamped envelope with a $300 penalty check to the IRS. Still hasn't been delivered!

    9/3/2022, An employee that I know who works at this post office and who is my neighbor told me last week that come January 1st, 2023 that this Lakewood post office will be one of several post offices which will be closing permanently. It's a means to cut costs and attempts to try to stay solvent since the US post offices continue each year to run deficits. The rumor is that the Lakewood Sheriff's office plans to extend out their facilities and take over the land of this post office.

    Do any of the employees actually empty this box on a regular basis? The drive-thru mailbox is always full with people's letters falling out of it. I pulled up to mail a letter and literally could have taken 20 envelopes out. Walked up to the mailbox out front and that one is full also. Employees here are lazy AF. This is the third time that box has been full completely with letters sticking out. There's no excuse for this.

    Food is like home cooking. I have never had a disappointing meal. The bill was not a shock and service was great.

    What time does the self service kiosk close on Saturdays?

    I rent a PO Box at this location. Does anyone know what address I can use if a company will not accept acceptance to a PO Box? I was told I could use their physical address with my PO Box # after it, but I want to confirm.

This envelope contained time sensitive paperwork, hence it was in an overnight air mail envelope. Asked the person if they could print me a receipt showing that I dropped it off at their location; she stated they dont do that. Should have been my red flag to not leave it there. Still gave them the benefit of the doubt. They said pick up for their UPS is 4:30. I check the tracking number on the UPS website the next day and it hasnt even been marked as picked up. I call the business on friday morning and no answer the whole day. Call again on Saturday and no answer again so I leave a message on their answering machine letting them know it's time sensitive documents in the envelope to be sent out; asked them to call me back but of course they never did. Finally call on monday and they pick up. So I go to the physical place to ask what happened to my envelope and paperwork. Long behold, it's STILL THERE. They said UPS never came by on thurs or fri. More like they were closed on friday! My contact info is infront of the envelope, least they could have done was notify me it wasnt picked up. As I go in... non apologetic at all even after I told them it was time sensitive. My envelope basically sat there for how many days when it should have already been at it's destination. Took my envelope back and went to an official UPS place where they gave me a receipt for dropping off. Non reliable place who cant even put up their business hours. Dont take your mail or packages here unless you expect it to not get delivered in a timely, professional manner. One star only bc no option for no stars at all.

In the meantime he tried to pack up some Christmas chocolate tins for shipping and proceeded to spill the contents over the shipping desk. I hope for the sake of whomever receives these that he got all of them back in the tin. The owner came in after a few minutes and finally rang me up. I left and she followed me outside to the van she had left double-parked with a few kids inside and drove off, leaving her son alone in the shop again. So if you're looking for a wide range of cardboard boxes - this is the place. Just hope that Mom is home when you need to check out and I'd pack my own box if I were you...

    Be careful what items you place in your shipping box when getting help from this location's UPS…read morestaff. There is a thief employed at this location and the manager is defending that person. This will sound severe, yet it's true. When the box was sent to me that included a limited edition Steamdeck which was more than $700 along with its charger and case, it was never found in the box when received. A staff helped pack the box who got a look at the items in it, which then seems to have stolen it behind the scenes before shipping it out. At this point, I wouldn't put it past the manager as well, as she was trying her best to sweep the situation under the rug by spewing store policies and being completely unhelpful. Be careful of the staff members in this location, including the manager. If you're going to pack a box with an expensive device, or any item for that matter, just seal it yourself so the thief/thieves won't get an idea what's in it.

Unfortunately, the employee who assisted me was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Instead of offering guidance or answering my questions with courtesy, her tone and attitude made me feel like I was inconveniencing her simply by asking for help. She appeared irritated and uninterested, which created a very uncomfortable experience. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism, especially when seeking assistance. I understand that everyone can have a difficult day, but customer service should always remain courteous and respectful.
