Sushi, affordable, large menu, saki One of my favorite local Sushi restaurants in the triad. I love sitting at the sushi bar and watching them prepare the food. On this trip, there were 4 of us- we ordered chefs selection sushi boat. The price was great for a lot of food. Chef chose a great variety. This is not the fanciest place, but that's what makes it such a great after work or casual weekend place to be. Full bar, and large Saki selection. For the non sushi lovers- they serve hibachi and several other Japanese dishes..

This place was recommended to me by several people. I finally got around to trying it and I was not disappointed! The lunch specials were so affordable and the service was quick. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and well decorated.

One of the most reliable Asian spots in the Triad. I prefer this one to the one in Friendly center, as their service is stellar! Over the years I have been eating here, I have had great experiences for dinner. Everything I've had has been great. We tend to start with soup, salad, or edamame. Then, onto a sushi boat! They have a great variety of options rolls, and their specialty rolls are huge. The nigiri is fresh. Overall, the consistent quality keeps us going back.

This is one of our favorite sushi restaurants. We were seated as soon as we arrived. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She got our drinks as we filled in the sushi menu with our order. We ordered 2 squid salads, the sashimi deluxe and several rolls. All of it came out fresh and delicious! They have updated the inside and it looks fantastic. Definitely recommend!!

I cannot stand when a cheesecake has a crust thin as paper -- give me a thick graham cracker crust with texture and balance. The dynamics of each bite when it's made that way are unmatched. Ironically, I didn't even order cheesecake this visit, but after seeing theirs, I already know I'll be back for it. I started with cookies because I couldn't decide what I wanted, and every single one was delicious. The oatmeal cream pie cookie was amazing, the ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie lived up to its name, and the walnut chocolate chip cookie was perfection. I also grabbed a pup cupcake for my dog, and he inhaled it in about 2.5 seconds, so clearly that was a hit too. The customer service was as sweet as pie. The inside was spotless, smelled incredible, and felt so warm and welcoming. Spacious seating, rocking chairs out front, beautiful decor -- everything felt intentional. The whole place has such comforting, happy vibes. This is more than just a dessert spot. It's an experience. The quality, presentation, atmosphere, and overall care really stand out. I'll absolutely be back to try more things, and honestly, I'm even considering talking to them about doing my gender reveal cake because the vibe and quality were that good. Must visit. Must walk inside. Must treat yourself.

I was pretty taken aback by how many dessert options they had. Not only did they have a plethora of types of desserts, but they had sooo many flavors/varieties of each one. A dozen different variations of cheesecakes, several cupcake varieties, a dozen different kinds of macarons, several different cakes, tiramisu, tres leches, banana pudding, edible cookie dough, more cookies than I could name, brownies, eclairs, and more that I'm sure I have forgotten. If you can name it, I'm sure they have it. I've been looking for somewhere nearby to get a proper macaron (as opposed to a hard, macaron shaped cookie without the traditional texture) at a reasonable price point. This definitely met those criteria, so of course we tried a flower shaped macaron. It had the perfect, delicate cookie and that classic, light almondy flavor. We also had a brownie batter cookie, which was delicious and reminds me of something I would have saved on Pinterest a decade ago but never gotten around to making, much less as well as they do. Though there was a line inside, we were served super quickly by friendly staff, and found a nice seat outside in the sun. They also had abundant indoor seating. Maybe I'm the last one to hear about Sweet Dough and everyone else has been a fan, or maybe it's a true hidden gem. Either way, I will 100% be back.

It is located in a small strip mall off North Main Street with plenty of parking. The front of the Ice Cream Shop is decorated very lively and you can see how much they appreciate their High Point University customers from a large welcome sign they have up letting them know this. The first thing that got my attention when I went in, besides how clean and organized the place was, was the great variety of offerings they had. I've been in order Ice Cream Parlors that serve Hershey's Ice Cream before and was aware of the many flavors they have to offer, but here besides the 64 flavors, they seem to have a variety of ways to have your ice cream, as well as other items such as smoothies and frozen lemonade, just to name a few. And to motivate you to explore the different ways of having your ice cream, they have pictures on the wall showing them. Even though the place was small with very few tables and chairs, it was already decorated for the Fall with colored leaves all over and small pumpkins on the table, creating a festive ambiance in which to enjoy some good ice cream. A young lady greated me with a smile and gave me a warm welcome. Since I was in the area to attend a Dinner Party that evening, I didn't want to get anything large; just a medium size cup of a nice flavor ice cream. The employee was so nice and helpful that when I asked her about a flavor besides explaining it she offered to give me a try on a tiny spoon. I tried the flavor Road Runner Raspberry and I instantly loved it. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to read about what this flavor contained and see for yourselves how good it looked for a picture is worth a thousand words. I enjoyed having this wonderful flavor ice cream and the High Point University sign in the entrance made me remember my college years in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and how much I enjoyed going out with my friends for some ice-cream. I highly recommend this Ice Cream Shop and thank the owners of this family-owned business for providing this sweet spot where members of the community can come to spend some quality time with family and friends while they savor some good ice-cream.

In addition, they offer unlimited toppings to be added at NO EXTRA CHARGE!!!!! Still stuffed from dinner, I got a "single" cup, which they actually allow you to put up to (2) favors in. I decided to to go with (2) of their original creations, getting the Peanut Butter Cookies & Cream, and the Salty Caramel Brownie, to top it off, i got a chocolate drizzle, sprinkles and whipped cream. WOW! Don't let the size of the cup fool you, they pack it, full, and have overflowing. They don't skimp. The ice cream was absolutely delicious, so rich and full of flavor. The space is very relaxed with plenty of seating, as well as games for people to enjoy while visiting. Another nice touch, the cashier gave us a bottle of water on the house. In addition to cups and cones, they also offer milkshakes, ice cream tacos made to your liking, and so much more. Hands down, this has got to be the best spot in the Triad to get a nice sweet treat! It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.

The lobster tail was basically a crispy croissant filled with pastry cream that had no discernible pistachio flavor. Tasty but definitely more of a French pastry. The cookies were all supposedly different flavors but I couldn't tell them apart. They were a basic shortbread dyed different colors, had gummy, flavorless fillings and tasted old. There was 1 biscotti in the box and I'm sorry to say that my not at all Italian mom has made better biscotti. Definitely very pricey considering the quality.
